I just bought this same guitar and its my first electric. Im getting some buzz on my bottom two strings, im wondering if you had the same problem. Please reply, as im wondering if i need a neck adjustment, or if i could just replace the strings.
Hey, do you mean by a buzz, that the bridge is giving the buzz sound? Because i have that problem too, i bought my jaguar a week ago, and when l play on the G and B string, my bridge makes a buzz like noise.
Hey, thanks for the answer. I might buy it, because it's really annoying. I was thinking about a mustang bridge, but I'm not very handy with guitar modification. The whizzo buzzstop might be the solution, thank you!
hahaha i must have watched this video like 189672507363 times... this jaguar is awesome and have to decided to purchase one myself. one question though, if i decide to bust out a random solo, how will the jaguar handle some pretty high dist/gain settings? like, will the pickups squeal and sturrfff?
I recently got the Special HH and I'm pretty happy with it. In the shop I tried a normal Special Jag and a Special Jazzmaster before making my choice. It's only natural to have second thoughts when making a fairly major purchase (I know I did), but it's a waste of energy because you've made your decision.
What matters more than anything is whether or not you enjoy the feel and sound of your guitar. If the answer's yes, then you made the right choice.
Yeah, you're right. I'm happy with it, and I bought it because I liked the sound. The HH wasn't in-store where I live (way up in Canada), so I didn't have the opportunity to compare, but I think I still made the right decision based on what I researched.
Is the bass cut switch backwards from the bridge or neck pickup switches on your special HH? I played one at the store and the down position turned the bass cut on which was backwards from a Japanese Jaguar HH I played once. It seemed confusing to me.
Yeah, it's the same as that. I imagine it's the same for any Jaguar that has it. Logically, it makes more sense if you think of the high pass as "turning off" the bass rather than turning anything on.
I sort of messed up on that reply, got mixed up between classic player and special;
what I've got is the classic player HH, which is the Jaguar classic player with the moved trem/different bridge, but with humbuckers instead (different from the Special HH, which has no trem). I preferred the classic HH to the normal classic because it had a thicker tone. It was very hard choosing between that and the classic Jazzmaster.
If you're not sure which to go for, try them in a shop. Hope that helps.
It sounds really good here, and I'm using the same amp so I have a decent idea of what it sounds like (different speaker though), need to play one to see how it feels to play. I have an MIJ Jazzmaster reissue, which is old and a piece of crap, albeit a good piece of crap. I'll have to wait until I'm working again though.
Does the tremolo arm stick out enough to be able to do My Bloody Valentine-style effects?

@mdognirvana try a whizzo buzzstop, puts more pressure on the bridge, or a mustang bridge, which has less buzz :)
