That's not actually true. Now, the Alienware M17 is one of the better gaming laptops out there right now, but not the best. And the best 15" gaming laptop is easily the Sager NP8662, with the NVidia 260M and such.

I love the m15x, and I'm going to buy one very soon, but saying that Alienware is the best for gaming isn't actually true in most circumstances.

Well, I would say that you actually pay a bit more for the Alienware because it's smaller and more portable. That's a 17" screen. The 9800GT is better than the 4850, but you're right when you say that it is better for the price.

But an Alienware, with all the right tweaks and such, will outperform the 725.

Laptops will never be as fast as a desktop but it doesn't say it performs bad for what it is. Although I will always be sticking with nVidia it will probably perform depending on what games your going to play. I would pick the 9800M from nVidia as a mobile GPU!

Not really cause they are laptops. They run on a battery so they don't need to waste much power because of it. That's why manufacturers will never create a fast gaming laptop.

CPU's and GPU's use most of the power and that's where the problem starts. Time will tell if they can create something fast.

I've heard that the new Intel i7 laptops only live for an hour and the battery is already low.
