I took some expadable foam isulation and filled the nose cone with that. Now I can smash the nose cone with my fingers and she just popps back out, no crackes or anything. You can not tell you ever smashed it. Works great. I also removed the foam behind the battery so a bigger battery will fit and balance correctly. She fly's great.
i no nothing about these planes and about all the techinal talk but i really love this plane nd it would be my first since its allready made 90% complete do u think it will be ok for me to do
anybody have any issues with the glue they provide with the model? it doesnt seem nearly strong enough. My plane has been drying for hours now and there is still play in the glued joints.
Great flying for 1st time, i know nothing about these but the look like great fun, what's the flying time for a full charge on that one? Whats the max airspeed? And honestly, how hard are they to fly??
It's good when you are taxiing along or want the plane to come to you because rudders only have an effect when hey are in an airstream. i.e. worthless. but up in the high speed winds, it's hard to keep in control without a rudder.
thats my point, to fly better you need a rudder. why cant you have another servo plugged into the same channel, so both the rudder and wheel is functional? Its only maybe $5 worth of equipment, its only logical to do that.
Yeah, you're right. Anyway, dd I say Steerable nose wheel? The F-16 doesn't have LG. Sorry, it is 3 channel. I was talking about the F-35 when I said Steerable nose wheel. but I did put a rudder on the F-35.I put in one servo near the tail, used a double arm and hooked in the control horns, and set up the pushrods. Then I just connected the rudder servo to the SNW servo via Y-harness. it works great. they both move at the same time from one channel.
I've found that it's easier if you do it on a double vertical stab plane. With a single stab, the plane can be unbalanced. I did it on my Sapac F-22 and and F-15. What's really fun is when you apply down elevator, left aileron and left rudder. Creates some nice flat spins.
hmmm... i will consider this. The only thing really attracting me to the eurofighter is it comes with a functional rudder, ive never modded a plane before so im a bit nervous to do it
Yes, the Eurofighter is stock with a rudder, so no worries about being unbalanced. I was pretty nervous when i cut too because it was one of my favorite jets. What I'm trying now is putting one servo for each stab and getting them both to pull for airbrakes (on the f-22) and one to pull/one to push for rudder. Can't get it to work.
they have special steerable nose wheel retracts. if you have ever seen nitroplanes and bananahobbies SR-71s, they have a steerable and retractable nose wheel. You can buy the steerable/retractable landing gear at nitroplanes. You just cut the hole, mount it, and cconnect a servo

Real F16 has an unstable air frame, most likely this one will be tough to land.

Hi Dave have you had the chance to review the L39 Albatros 64mm duct fan jet from G&C Hobby.
I recently got one and I'm wondering how to balance it .
very little info on the net for this model
one site says the C of G is at 48mm from the L.E. or 1.000 in and 15/16" is that close to what it should be?
Thanks for your appreciated reply

is this good for beginners
Raymanz 2 years ago
No not at all, you'd better get something like a multiplex easystar or glider. Also, bigger models are always better for beginners.

I use Kwik bond 2 part epoxy on my jets. It dries in about 5 minutes but I usually let it sit an hour before flying just to be safe.

if theres no rudder, how is it 4 channel? I count 3: throttle, elevator, aileron
frederic470 2 years ago
Steerable Nose Wheel
HangarX1 2 years ago
thats such a waste of a channel.... planes are meant to fly not to drive

yeah im going to do the same thing when i get my jet, i didnt decide on which one yet, leaning toward the eurofighter

well i wish you luck :)
If i actually get enough courage to cut into my plane. i want to mod it with retracts.

same here

but then the front wheel wont turn, or will it? I havnt thought the concept through very well yet

All these ducted fan foamies fly fast, but any fly nice and slow comfortably also?
Ispintechno1 3 years ago
These Jets are made to fly fast. It is possible to fly it slow, but it won't be as comfortable as flying in high speeds
nitroplanes 3 years ago
I'd try the Nitromodels F-22. It's smaller than the Sapac one, but if you kill the throttle it floats down like a parachute.
HangarX1 2 years ago
Is there no FOD worries on the ducted fans?
Nice fly'n by the way.
revmkell 3 years ago
very nice, which fly's better; the f-35, or this model?
longerino 3 years ago
F-35, LG make it easier to focus on flying the plane rather than tossing it and hoping to catch it when it comes down.
