I was at this show too! It absolutely kicked everyone's ass from here to hell and back. Incredible stuff. Seen them twice since and will again this year.

Im sorry but luther plays like an ameteur in this compared to Derek and Warren, Derek is feeling the painful slide of luther like someone please kill this thing. shouldnt be on the same stage as them.......
With all due respect this is an iconoclassic Rest Home wheelchair karaoke sing-a-long rendition of a kickass righteous go-for-the-throat Murder 1 take-no-prisoners strait ahead cut-time slam-jammin' monster! So what happened? Who's ill arranged decision was this cooter? I suppose it would grow on me.. but I don't want it to! More juice!! my brothers, I've seen you do this so many times and came away with singed eyebrows.. it's too hot to burn. Why mess with what's workin' ???
I agree with you... Dickey was good in his day, but the Allmans have seen a revival in their popularity because of the current lineup. And they are clean now. They kicked Dickey out because he refused to clean up.

yes what the hell happened, this tune use to burn..Dicky's solo was white hot the slide always carried the tune to new heights of greatness, but this was pitiful...hate to say it but Greg is finally losing his voice, & the rest of the band sounds way way tired. oh well
they lasted a long long time with members coming & going, so i have to be grateful for that..Derek must be sayin to himself..thank god i have my own band & now-a days it seems most players have several projects going at once.
You must be on crack. These guys are great players but Dickie Betts and Duane Allman had some sort of magic that these guys aren't capturing. It doesn't help that these guys are playing the song way slower than the old Fillmore version. I bet it would be way more awesome with the tempo picked up by 10 beats/minute or so.
It's called age. If you played drums you would have much more respect for the toll playing that hard for that long does to you. Butch & Jaimoe are in their sixties! It's not 1970 anymore. Who are you going to see play music like this when they give it up. Enjoy it while it's here.
I do play drums. And guitar, and bass, and hell even trombone and tuba. I've seen guys in their sixties live play much faster. I'm just saying, pick up the beat a little, it's sluggish. And I can't tell if Derek Trucks is with them here because the video is so blurry. I saw him live with Santana a month ago, and he is absolutely fantastic. It's just a lot different, that's all I'm saying. The Fillmore version is one of my favorite songs ever, and to me this doesn't do it much justice.
I saw these guys 2 days after this one at Saratoga. I was just amazed. not at their technical ability just at how well they listen to each other and make it all blend
like bringing saND to the beach

It must drive Luther crazy how much better Derek and Warren are than him.

Stop bitching about the vid. I think it's just shitty sound quality, plain and simple. The guitar work is smokin and the vocals are good.

What's with this tempo? It's so freaking slow. I mean, it's good, but the old Fillmore version is way better.

Of course, Duane was playing on it.

Those are harp lines and should really be accompanied with harp with a sweet swing to it....like butter played or dickie!

HEEEEEEEEEEEY I was at this show!!! My first concert, and one HELL of a concert to be my first! Im going to go back every year they come.
And yea, Luther is an EXCELLENT slide player. He did a good slow-attack with a strum-volume knob motion with his right hand so perfectly, too!
Lucky kid... I'd love to sit in and Jam with them... or even just Trucks or Haynes. He got my dream!
