@itsmegp46 I replaced the stock light bulbs with small neon lights (they are brighter and more consistant). The instrument cluster itself is original.
well, in the junkyard vid you sad you bought a fury with a 240km/h speedo but this one is a belvedere with a 120mph spedo, may you explain this to me?
@Fradias11 There's not much to explain. That's my 58 Belvedere with stock 120mph speedo. I bought a rusted out 57 Fury with a 240kph speedo and a 57 Belvedere with 200kph speedo for parts.
@CamaroManTed The original radio is not working, it went up in smoke when I hooked it up years ago. Apart from this there are only a few AM stations available and they don't play this kind of music...
@vwbeetleowner This stuff should be easy to find. e.g. on Ebay. These are the same mini neon lights used for car interior or PC modding. You can use LED strings as well (they're even brighter), but I liked the neons better.
did you do anything with the color filters in the gauge cluster? or colored bulbs? i was wondering because i have a 57 cluster that i keep onmy computer desk hooked up to a 12 volt powersupply but its not quite as green or rich in color.
I used a pair of green mini neon lights in the cluster, same on the radio. A friend of mine used a string of green LEDs, his cluster is even brighter than mine but I like the color of the neon lights better. Looks almost like in the movie... :-)
@AudioMobil how did you wire the mini neons? do they just run off the same 12 volt negative ground, positive coming from the light bulb wiring on the harness.? or did u use a separate switch ?
Stunning instruments and guages. Very clear and readable. So Awesome for a half century old car.

@AudioMobil I didn't see one, but was there a resettable trip meter available as an option?
itsmegp46 18 minutes ago

CamaroManTed 1 week ago
@CamaroManTed The stock radio is used as a remote switch for a hidden aftermarket unit.
AudioMobil 20 hours ago
@AudioMobil so this aftermarket switch, can make this i guess reproduction an AM/FM?
