I don't like Maverick, It can really hurt If you don't ride it right, The g-forces of the first drop maybe intense, but it pushes the lap bar into your thighs, and when you get into the block breaks at the end of the ride It is really uncomfertable. Plus it hurts your neck. I miss WWL

While I think the Maverick is about as awesome as it gets, this ride was SO much better than shoot the rapids. They should have just relocated and restored this one instead of building a new ride.

Also there used to be two shoots so they could have more canoes out at a time, however they started having problems with this and there was some incident in 2002 when the canoes collided. Oops.

Glad most of you like the tribute. The picture quality is not great, as CP does not allow you to photograph on rides, so this was done on the DL. There's no sound, as I had several ride ops threatening me as I recorded! (This is why the camera tapes the seat at the top of the flume briefly.) Note that even the "POV ride through" which begins @ about 2:50 is actually comprised of 3 different rides, in July, Sept and Oct of 2005. Enjoy!

Nothing can compare to this ride....A lot of memories on this and CP's other log ride Mill Race. Both great rides.

I remember going on this ride with my parents a really long time ago. My mom hated anything similar to roller coasters and had no idea that was the case for this ride. Oh I feel so sorry for her! She got so scared when you climb up that really tall hill and plunge down with no seat belts. I hugged her all day.

VertiGo-A towering thrill ride collapsed early this year (2002) at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, after one of its three steel support poles cracked. The ride opened in August, just months before the collapse. The cause of the crack has been found to be vortex shedding.

The VertiGo collapse occurred in January, when the carriage and steel cables that supported it had been removed from the structure for winter storage, said Ned Hansen, chief engineer for S&S.
