The only mistake I saw he made during his prime was when he coasted in the last quarter of his fight against Trinidad. Had he kept pounding, he would have stayed undefeated.. and it would not have messed his psyche during his fight with Shane.

I have much respect for Chavez and to me he is a legend. I cant say he was better than de la hoya and I cant say chavez was better than de la hoya. To me they are in a class of their own. I have to say De la hoya was bad ass and right now I think he is doing better than what other old boxers failed to do.

I think we can all agree that a prime Oscar de la Hoya could give both Floyd and Manny a very tough fight, possibly even beating both of them.

I'm not sure what has happened to his rep after his 'golden' days but I can say that he was a terrific fighter who also has a better resume than both Floyd and Manny. I don't know why a lot of Mexicans hate de la Hoya when before they loved him.
