The underlining basic in 易經 is change易. As such, things and people change with time. Each era has its own talent. Zhou Xuan and Teresa Teng both have a beautiful voice but their voices are different from each other. The 40s' erhu playing cannot be replicated no more because instrument making, music playing, etc. are changing. For me, that sound touches my heart. I have been practicing the erhu for the past 30 years. I love gut string （絲弦）and am playing extensively erhus with gut strings.

鄧麗君的"天涯歌女"是另一種韻味,距皺周 漩尚有些距離,我個人認為可唱同一首歌但不必模仿別人的唱腔,修­件夠,就自成一格,鄧麗君就是如此。有些人聽了貓王普利斯來的歌­,就仿唱, 結果是不倫不類,可笑。再說仿得極像不過是一部唱機而矣永遠不能­夠"家"。但是有很多主辦歌唱比賽的單位的裁判仍以選手耍唱得像­原唱的一樣方能拿冠軍誠可笑之極。
