My HP NC6000 can not start

After the OS reinstall (almost 4 years ago) the computer was working fine /it was used daily/ until yesterday and I was very happy with it /both stability and performance/.

Now the issue is a different one: it powers on, the fan starts and a few seconds later the laptop powers off.

Any clue what could be causing such a problem?

restart windows and when it boots up press f8 and load safe mode then restore computer from last update ,

hey that is a virus.. turn on your computer and press f8 thats for the safe mode. and you can save all your files and than reinstall windows!!

Unplug it, take the battery out, and hold the power button 10-30 seconds. Worked on two of my comps when they wouldn't run right.

Could have pressed ctrl + alt + del, launched the task manager, hit file run explorer.exe and the start menu should have appeared

I know it's fine now, but for people with the same sort of problem, you can download or get a free Linux (Ubuntu) Live cd , so you can backup your important files to a Portable hard disk, and then you can reinstall Windows or Linux.

That happened to my sony viao laptop, I was running vista on it, I hated to do it but I used the system recovery disk. If you don't have one, best buy will make one for you, for $50.00

Have you tried reinstalling the OS? This looks more like an OS related problem than a hardware problem.

Definitely has nothing to do with the Laptop. Dude! Either get a better pirated Windows or install Linux or Hackintosh (*cough*kalyway*cough*) on your laptop and enjoy an working system.
