I just beat the game a few hours ago and I gotta say, I REALLY loved it. I agree with a lot of your views here. I've noticed those small quirks where Alice does get stuck, but its never really bothered me all that much. The game does have its small glitches, but what game doesn't? This game is ALWAYS being underrated, and its a damn shame. IGN only complained about the SMALL things and didn't even talk about the major parts of the game experience. @xXSailorSweetheartXx Personally, I don't think so. The beginning gives a basic idea of what happened, but if you want to completely understand it yes. I myself played the second before the first and I understood the plot

I personally loved this game and it's art style which was very steampunk esque. I find it funny how excited I was to play it seeing as I'm more used to far different genre's and I'm glad to see someone else who was enthusiastic about it.

I just got the game a few days ago, and I sadly just finished the chores for the carpenter. >.< But anyways... I really like the game, there are parts where it's kind of hard for me(I'm playing on easy... I'm a disgrace. XD) but that's only because I don't usually play fighting games. And I like the fact that you don't have a limited amount of lives, like most games. And I really wish they would make this into a movie like they were planning to. =P
if you like horror games you need to play condemned 2: bloodshot if you haven't already (it should be pretty cheap by now). there's a part in the game where your in some old, abandoned doll factory and some of the baby dolls run at you on ALL FOURS like some chihuahua demon crack babies. that creeped me right the F%$# out... but anyway...

I never played American McGee's Alice so i've been playing it since i got it with Madness Returns and it's different but i'm not surprised since it came out in 2000, still love it though. :) I'd rate Madness Returns to me personally a 9.0 or 9.5 out of 10 :) its just beautiful.

The game is a little hard to understand but if you look properly it is very sad, Alice fights in Wonderland is roughly comparable to us humans in real terms we are also fighting bad habit in our imagination and imagine how it could be that as it may be should .

nice the part you mentioned LoZ lock on mode, I'm fan of Zelda one of the best games in the whole history ..all the reviews of diferent people said that this game is just cool, just nice and they gave to it a 6.5 or a 7, for me this game deserve and 9 and if you dont have it...you must buy it and make it a part of your collection....almost a master piece.
I don't know why people thought it sucked. It was pretty enjoyable, the art was great, I enjoyed the story line, and overall the voice actors really made Wonderland feel... mad :P

Madness Returns is more art than gaming, that explains glitches and bad rate from IGN and others.
You didn't tell what do you think about the story (or I missed that part). I "loved" the story but I think it was too easy to create an Alice's sister as she wasn't even mentionned in the first game.

I haven't play the game yet, but the whole atmosphere looks like Salvador Dali's painting when he decide to put on lip gloss while high on purple drink, and pepper spraying "pigs with wings" for gold tooth, then wake up, and do it some more...(*´д｀*).
I love it! McGee did a really good job (could be better), and critics can screw themselves, or have some of that "Drink me" purple drink to trippin off (￣▽￣)

if you like horror games you need to play condemned 2: bloodshot if you haven't already (it should be pretty cheap by now). there's a part in the game where your in some old, abandoned doll factory and some of the baby dolls run at you on ALL FOURS like some chihuahua demon crack babies. that creeped me right the F%$# out... but anyway...

Loved your review :) and i looved Madness Returns finished it on Hard and Nightmare and i'm trying to get all the trophies now :D. I never played American McGee's Alice so i've been playing it since i got it with Madness Returns and it's different but i'm not surprised since it came out in 2000, still love it though. :) I'd rate Madness Returns to me personally a 9.0 or 9.5 out of 10 :) its just beautiful.

every time I see or hear the game alice always remember you.
I would appreciate very much if you'd be the actress from Alice Madness Return, if the film makers are planning a film.
The game is a little hard to understand but if you look properly it is very sad, Alice fights in Wonderland is roughly comparable to us humans in real terms we are also fighting bad habit in our imagination and imagine how it could be that as it may be should .

Your detail on expectations for the title are exactly what helps a studio review and assess balancing gameplay mechanic, artistry, and overall XP. Your obvious interest in gaming is apparent. You offered a very serious critique which I respect. Sure, to a degree everything's subjective, but a developer/studio/publisher weighs the more thoughtful feedback versus the purely emotional rants and raves. Great post. 2 thumbs up.

nice the part you mentioned LoZ lock on mode, I'm fan of Zelda one of the best games in the whole history ..all the reviews of diferent people said that this game is just cool, just nice and they gave to it a 6.5 or a 7, for me this game deserve and 9 and if you dont have it...you must buy it and make it a part of your collection....almost a master piece.

I've finished the game and it kicks a... everything need to be kicked ! But I'm still wainting for the artbook :(
Madness Returns is more art than gaming, that explains glitches and bad rate from IGN and others.
You didn't tell what do you think about the story (or I missed that part). I "loved" the story but I think it was too easy to create an Alice's sister as she wasn't even mentionned in the first game.

I haven't play the game yet, but the whole atmosphere looks like Salvador Dali's painting when he decide to put on lip gloss while high on purple drink, and pepper spraying "pigs with wings" for gold tooth, then wake up, and do it some more...(*´д｀*).
I love it! McGee did a really good job (could be better), and critics can screw themselves, or have some of that "Drink me" purple drink to trippin off (￣▽￣)
And uh... just want to say you look great. Don't worry, i'm not Mr Bumby (°ω° ),
