They did? Yeah, that is surprising. Especially since they're much more picky than they used to be about anything seeming dated. (They were still playing "Me Lost Me Cookie at the Disco" in 1997, for crissakes!)
And with the benefit of 15 years' hindsight, early '90s Sesame Street is much a period piece snapshot as its '70s ancestor.
Queen was and is hot. She has such a pretty face, I loved her head wraps and hats. She has done a lot for hiphop, she's not a sellout like some people accuse of her being. She got me interested in rap.
I so so so remember this. This used to be my favourite ever song when I was little still is. I remember Queen Latifah on Sesame Street she's ace. I can't belive she was 22 when she was on Sesame Street with Pririe Dawn, Mary Monster and Telly Monster. Everytime it started with the colourful background with the big blue o I said oh yey it's my favourite song then I sang and danced along and at the end of the song I said again Queen Latifah again more encore. I love Queen Latifah forever she rocks
You are so right. Merry is a whole lot better than Zoe, as well as Rosita and Abby Cadabby! Anyways, hey Sawings! You should have said kicking it OOld School with the queen.
nice job :-D

I always thought Sesame Street was crap. Having a "celebrity" like Queen Latifah just further proves my theory.

I must admit, Merry and Prairie harmonize well together.

I always wondered why zoe and prarie sounded practically the same. Turns out they're both voiced by the same woman (Fran Brill)

Most hilarious part of this: hearing Prarie Dawn, one of the world's great straights, rapping.

WOW! Sesame Street has gotten so modern. :) Now if we could just get kids to watch it, there'd be less violence, and more learning.

I find it odd that they had this on a 2004 DVD, when it includes a retired character and scenes of the old street design.

Too bad Merry Monster didn't last very long... I guess once they introduced Zoe, she couldn't stand a chance.
