That's fucking mental man, didn't think the human body could cope with such abuse. Just to be clear this was some sort of challenge and not a proper routine right? and thumb under or over?
just curious, you've got 3 plates on each side plus the little plates which i presume is no more than 10kg each. Assuming that the large plates are all 20kg each, how does that amount to 180? unless the ones on the end are 40kg each?
Go to the end of the video, you will see I do a close-up of the plates. The red ones are 25kg and the small grey ones are 5kg. The bar is 20kg, making a total of 180kg.
i deadlift because i like them and it is a good way for me to note my progress on how strong im getting but how important do you think it is in bodybuilding . id say important although it isnt really a lift that pumps you but idk
@dgwear69 Group A does biceps curls only, Group B biceps curls and deadlifts. Which group do you think will get bigger bicep-gains? Well it's group B. The more muscle activation&/fatigue, the more growth hormones & testosterone you get = better gains.
Compounds are scientifically proven to be awesome for strength, mass, fat loss, everything. Compounds with strict form, no momentum, bouncing, cheating, are the absolute best thing you can do.
very impressive mate, great form throughtout. You know u coulda got 20 though!!! 15 without wraps is my best but not continously like you. I gotta properly ground it everytime, havnt got the power to do what you did.
Hey Jon just finished reading your book, great stuff.
Regarding postworkout you said you said you have a creatine, dextrose & whey protein cocktail. How much dextrose & whey are you consuming postworkout when you are in the offseason?

very good lifting Jon, High rep deadlifts are the way forward. It's always the tough guys that do this kind of lifting. Very impressed! I do 350lbs for these kind of reps at 170lb bodyweight. Looking forward to doing 400!
boss my tops is 210kg but i get 1 rep im gone down in weight to 180kg im getting 4 reps but if i build up to 12reps then try 210kg will i be able to rep it thanks if u can help?
You're amazing Jon.I've watched this video so many times. So inspirational ! I got 2 reps on 140kg today. I would love to be able to just get 1 rep on 180kg. That's damn impressive. Keep up the good work!
Nice lifting. Do you ever pause your deadlift reps (i.e. doing each one from a dead stop instead of bouncing them)? If not, why not try a paused rep challenge? Much harder!
To the USA people watching this video, this is 396 lbs for 18 reps. VERY impressive. I thought I was the shit when I deadlifted 165kg for 5!

How heavy was Jon here?
HITpadawan 2 years ago
I was about 185lbs in that vid.
NaturalMuscleTV 2 years ago
Is there any particular method you used to build up to these kind of poundages?
HITpadawan 2 years ago
Not really. I did a lighter higher rep set with 140kg to help build stamina though.

CuntyTom 2 years ago
I've not tried the pause method, although I agree it would be much harder! You do pick up a little free momentum off the 'bounce'.

nice, whats ur 1 rep max?
herbman786 3 years ago
Never really attempted a single. The most I ever deadlifted was 220kg for 5 reps, that was quite a few years back though.
