I live at Huffland Bay as a fifth generation river rat. The clip captures some of the missouri river bottems that I have loved all my life. There is more too Dakota then winter. Tim.
i live south of columbus nd up in the hill. what a video. spent alot of time from fairview to new town when i lived in williston. there was so much to see and do. always loved picking chokecheries and other berries down by the river, we have tons of snow right now but this will be the koolest spring in a long time when spring hits this year, cant wait. everyone enjoy it, there is no other place like north dakot thanks floyd
Thank you for posting this. My brother-in-law and I canoed up the Missouri from just east of Fairview to the confluence. Yes, I know it was just a couple of hours, but at least I can say I've canoed that length of the river. I cannot express how absolutely breathtaking it was to see Fort Union rise up out of the prairie as we rounded a bend. Truly spectacular. I owe it all to my brother for loaning us his canoe and showing us where best to start.
How I miss this river. I grew up in Mandan and on this river. The meadowlark song, the chokecherries, the walleyes caught from shore. The best memories.
I was the video specialist with Corps 2 during the bicentennial. Your video brought back some cool memories. As I was shooting the launch of the boats from Ft. Mandan a bald eagle came flying done the shoreline and hovered over the boats, then continued upstream as if to welcome us.
