honestly, i liked his overall playing better when he had his kurzweil. i dont know, i just liked his sounds better. obviously he still writes amazing stuff that no one can touch, but i liked his stuff better before he got the oasys.
remember its derek who wrote the scraming synth lead intro , the piano riff and basically the keys for line in the sand.
though it is constantly being put down by kevin and rudess fans its hard to dispute that he co-wrote the riffs for one of the most timeless fan favourite DT songs. just name which concert they DIDnt play this.
What a beautiful introduction. I really love those soundscapes. In some way they remind me of Robert Fripp but it doesn`t sound that experimental, which is at the same time a relief. The rest of his playing is amazing, but obviously the lead-sounding section has been improved for the Budokan show.
Yeah, sometimes he gets a bit carried away with that stuff and it starts sounding like a messed up guitar solo. It's cool, but it's not good stuff for soloing. I'd rather hear stuff like this.
It`s true what he`s said about the Progressive influence of the 70`s in DT. They`re the heirs of Progressive Rock although the metal elements are a very important part of their sound.
Regarding DT keyboard players, I really like Kevin`s traditional style and attitude, Derek is great too. But objectively talking Jordan is the most talented and creative one.
I love how despite being a relatively new progressive metal band, Dream Theater also can catch that special 70s Progressive rock band feel, especially Jordan Rudess and his Keyboards... Jordan is definitely their best keyboardist... Then it's Kevin, and then it's Derek, in my opinion.
hmm,, can all of u tell me what kind (the title) of song(in all of jordan rudess albums) which is played by him on this video,, if u know tell me please

Idk I like the continuum work but I'd much rather prefer this style of course.
