Gotta give them credit - huge Bruce fan, and Born To Run is my favourite song of all time. Compared to some of the covers out there this is a damn good effort.

Danny's voice is a bit cringey in places (bridge, anyone?) but he comes into his own during the "Whoa-oh"s at the end.

Wouldn't have expected these guys to have it in them, gotta give credit where credit is due, this is one of the better interpretations on Youtube. Congrats...

I think it's really hard for them to make something common when one loves the Beach Boys, another Blink 182, the third adores Bruce Springsteen and other - Michael Jackson xD I just picked the most controversial of their influences btw.. As a McFly fan, I will be completely objective and admit that Tom wasn't as comfortable with the song. It's not say Tom didn't know what he was doing, it's more he didn't have as long to fully perfect the song. However, on another note, you have to realize that Tom's voice isn't necessarily suited for this song like Danny's is. Danny has the deeper, stronger, more rock voice like Springsteen and thus succeeds more.

No, I understand that it was "detrimental" to the song, but the thing with McFly is they are known for having two lead singers and I believe that's what they were trying to show. The band wanted to continue to do what they have done throughout their whole careers. Both Tom and Danny are featured in each song, and that's what they did for this one. Even if it wasn't as successful as it could have been had only Danny sung, it was still good. Not great, but admittedly good.

I disagree it is BBC live lounge so a bit of a big deal with regards getting listeners to see there are more strings to your bow. This other guy should have been more practised if he was going to attempt 2 verses of a very difficult song. So no OMG's he is professional musician and attempting a cover when you dont understand the timing or fully know the song on live radio to millions is very unprofessional.

I'm not a fan of McFly's music at all but I find Danny Jones to be an accomplished guitarist with a wonderful voice and good taste. Compared to the other singer he really knows what he's doing. This cover succeeds because of him and the ace sax.

Awesome cover :D A lot of people think they dont have talent, but thats mostly cos theyve only heard their singles which are usually poppier. Theyd change their minds about them if they listened to songs like Not Alone, She Falls Asleep, Down Goes Another One, Bubblewrap,Too Close For Comfort, and the many many other songs that show how brilliant McFly actually are :) But they dont really get enough credit cos those songs arent played on the radio :(
