I just bought one yesterday, and i was wondering, is it the same tall as the GX-01 ?

I've watched another video comparing between the two.

when you extend the height of the GX-45 like you did in your review from 2:10 to 2:23, The GX-45 becomes exactly the same height as the GX-01 :)

The height is very important to me because i recently i ordered (APHRODAI A) from ebay and was worried that she might be taller than my GX-45, But it seems everything will be fine, so i'm waiting for her to arraive soon :)

Are the colors a bit different from the GX-01R?? I love my renewal version, but is is very pose friendly , but lacks some details, like the missile , the Drills weapon, the scrander flexibility ( including the Northern Cross gimmick holes )

I think i will order this one just to have it at the office, and my GX-01R safe at home :-)

@azarielZX For the 01R, the arms and legs are dark blue color while for the 45, the arms and legs are black color. In my opinion, both are worth getting. =)

Thanks much for this review! I watched several of yours as I was trying to decide which SOC to pick up, finally decided on the GX-45. Are the earlier ones (GX-01, for example) significantly larger?

@yoreverend Thank you for your support. The size difference between GX-01 and GX-45 is very minimal. I'd say less than 5%. However, GX-45 offers a lot more posability and fun. If you have to choose only 1, I'd go for GX-45. =)

@OptimusPrimeSG Yes, I opted for GX-45 due to the poseability. Too bad there's no Great Mazinger of similar articulation, but I very much like the GX-45.

hey there optimus how much die cast does this mazinger have? i just bought one coz of the joint articulation. its quite impressive how bandai made mazinger's joints. it is quite posable. i was thinking to get gx 49 but there's something in this piece that made me want it. by the way nice review :D

@dtormented This mazinger has lots of diecast. The torso, waist, entire legs and shoulders are diecast. The only non-diecast parts are the head, and the interchangeable forearms. You'll love it. GX-45 is a very well engineered toy. You can see it has come a long way since the first GX-01 Mazinger. GX-49 is more of a transformable toy and it has less posabilty and less diecast in it. The torso and lower legs are not diecast due to the transformation gimmick.

@OptimusPrimeSG just got my gx-45 and my black neo getter 1 anime export edition and i must say this mazinger is awesome.first time i took it out of the box i was amazed for a not that big of a toy to weigh quite something. and it's really posable i tried a few poses that mazinger did in the show and it really can pull it off. i was happy i bought it first than gx-49. loved the die cast and the joint system of this toy. my neo getter is heavy and all but not as posable compared to this.

@dtormented Hi, I am glad you've got a good start with a great choice for GX-45. Indeed, the weight and posability of the toy makes it really worth it and I am happy to know that you loved the piece. There are lots of great gokins out there so do enjoy the hobby of collecting and playing. =)

I heard this design is based on the original anime. A good chogokin but lacking in accessories compared to the GX-01 series.

@blacksun2099 It is actually based on the new mazinger anime that was aired in 2009. It has most of the same weapons as the GX-01, minus the iron cutter fists.
