Especially with a low-medium to medium-high gain pedal, one would want to hear what it sounds like with #1. a full minor chord that strums all 6 strings, so we can hear the definition (or lack of) and #2. POWER CHORDS! One of the most important parts of what an OD pedal does is what it does for rhythm guitar. Any pedal can sound good on a run of single notes, with the guitar 2 feet from the speaker. But of course, playing chords won't impress us and stroke this guy's ego as well, so lead it is.
bubu i think i buy this one, i have a steve lukather emg pickup on my guitar and i could be great with the humbucker position and single coil position.
Did it ever occur to you that this guy might just trying it for his own personal reason. I read the discription apparently you didnt, it says "Kiko Loureiro takes the Tech 21Liverpool pedal for a spin at the Frankfurt MusikMesse." Thats it. Not a demo he just using it.
Andrew, do you play a '62 reissue strat when you demonstrate the liverpool on namm? and what pickups do you use on that white strat? brand and model please.
by the way, i am considering to buy trademark 60 1x12 amplifier. this amp has effects loop, is this means that i can bypass the preamp section of trademark and use the amp just like power engine and directly plug external preamp/overdrive pedal like liverpool? because i liked the unadulterated-pure sound of liverpool plugged to power engine.
Well, he was just testing out the pedal at a trade show at my request, and let me tape it.
I have to thank him for that. I am not able to play like him. There is an other demo of this pedal on my channel that has different sounds and playing. To each his own.
I still believe that Kiko can show you a whole new dimension of the capabilities of the pedal. There is an upcoming trade show. I will try to get some more footage from different players. The whole idea is that good equipment let you sound like you not anyone else. Therefore I can't possibly show the different characters of the pedals alone!
He is Kiko Loureiro, and he can do MORE than all you suckers combined. Chords included.

How is any of what he did in those 0:48 supposed to make me think it can emulate a Vox?

I find these types of players totally boring, and the video sounds like mud. What's the point?

I agree. That video is useless. Tech 21 link it on their site. Go figure

Yes, that is a '62 reissue straight out of the box 0 miles on it. The Fender people were graciously lent it to us for the show.

Yes, you can use the power section of the 60 that way.

Stupid playing. He was supposed to show the pedal sound, not his fast and mastubatory guitar licks.

Andrew, your demos give better idea about the pedal.

and why don't you add your namm 2008 demonstrations of the liverpool? those demos are best demos of this pedal.
bulenterdem1977 3 years ago
Well, it is someone else's video after all. We are thinking to start a link to all the YouTube character stuff directly from T21's website.
bubu245 3 years ago
I have to agree. On a lot of YT demos it's more like let me demo my playing instead of let me demo this equipment.

if you want to get an idea about this great pedal i advice you to watch this bright video which the guitar is played by Andrew Barta or bubu245 :)
emusician(dot)com/ms/namm08/video/tech21_character/
and this is another great demo also played by him :)

¿ Quien le habrá llamado para que pruebe un pedal que emula un Vox ?

Dear Flipey,
Sorry only understand English!
bubu245 3 years ago
this pedal is supposed to sound like a vox - for a promotion video you'd think some vox style playing would be appropriate.

Listen to Brian May and maybe you will undestand.
pehaps... Incredible pedal, kiko helps...
haha

Couldn't agree more.....I'd like to hear whether it can do those Beatles, British invasion sounds...those elusive chimey sounds.
plantagenant 3 years ago 3
My thoughts exactly. The wanking on this clip does nothing to show what the pedal can do.
