Sorry, but this is the clunkiest looking minuet I've ever seen. I would have kept it for my own enjoyment and not posted it on YouTube. The costumes range over 100 years and dancing a minuet on uneven grass is impossible. This gives people a totally wrong idea of what the idea looked like.
@dakotagerman1 That's totally stupid. The minuet was the dance of the aristocracy in Europe, hence it was never in mainstream or popular culture. The waltz became the dance of the worse off - but still, the waltz is almost just as retarded as the minuet. Why should we participate in something so inhibituous that condemns the natural forces of individuals (because of age old christian perceptions and with those following social constraints).
But I'm not denying that we have some cultural wrongs.
@chainzdown2dadik Actually, this dancing is too formal and stylized for my taste, although colorful and interesting to watch for a bit. And, of course, the music is great.
I am sorry to say this, but this only distantly reminds of baroque dance. E.g. the constant bowing to the partner, that is like saying "hallo" and not only at the beginning of a conversation, but also right in the middle several times. Also you should use arms as well.
I would like to find the lyrics to this. I sang it school as a kid. Starts "when dames wore hoops and powdered hair, and very strict was etiquette, when men were brave and ladies fair, they danced the min-u-et. .....etc. WHAT IS THE REST?
before my body dies, I'd like to be invited to a social, perform the minuet, drink 3 bottles of wine with some wannabe's and then get back on our limos and wander into the night... top hats obligatory.
A minuet is a type of dance piece. It is often associated with "Minuet and Trio" which usually was the form of the third movement in a traditional symphony from the Classical period.
Pretty to watch, but like a party for time travelers - different costumes from different centuries! :) The music is great. This Mozart guy is definitely going places.
is the music in three fourth (3 4) time signature or maybe not???please..i really need an answer...thanks.

Funny remark ;-) We mostly dance for our own enjoyment, and give performances only occasionally. Therefore we're not very strict on costumes.
