But one thing most people don't know is that Slash runs a peizo pickup in the bridge saddles and combines that sound with the Seymour Duncans. IE...He runs both at the same time through his amp and that is how he gets his Signature tone. Just thought you might want to know.

I just got one off ebay in UK, Wahoo!!! lots of fret buzz on the E, A and D string along almost all the neck, i had a quick go at setting up the action, i'll spend some time on it but i'm very happy with it. I think the finish is even better than this one, it's like a chevron <<< slightly angled stripes, and stripes are VERY defined, i love it. I must do a video over the weekend.

@PS3Gamecore if ur willing to spend more money on upgrades etc, get the lp standard. Exactly the same as the custom just without the fancy aesthetic. Sure, u won't get the butterscotch finish or the fancy name but u can do anything to the standard. Change the pickups, add 4 conductor wiring for coil tapping, add a bigsby. change the electronics. If u only want to buy a guitar and do nothing, get the slash guitar

I'm sure Gibson takes the time to thoroughly train their Chinese employees on building guitars so that consumers aren't put off by the bad quality of their guitars.
sup dude just checking out your vid - when watching guitar review vids i love hearing what the reviewer thinks about it - why you bought it, how the guitar feels, how the action is, how easy it is to play, the 'cool factor', anything about the guitar really, i think you could have expanded it a lot more but it's still nice to hear what the guitar sounds like.

i played this guitar at best buy. i am not a fan of epiphone (or best buy) at all but this guitar was pretty damn kick ass and the set up was perfect for me. GREAT GUITAR!!
@Skull24Crusher Its got Duncan Seymour Alnico Pro II pickups :) and I don't know if theyre good for metal as I dont play very much metal and when I do I use a custom BC Rich Mockingbird :)

@TheGoryl1 I like the signature guitar because it gets you as close to Slash's tone as possible and I got the Epiphone version because it's cheaper and I don't have 3 thousand dollars to spend on a gibson. Epiphones are good guitars for the money.

@Thegoryl1: I would dare to challenge virtually EVERYONE to do a blind test and see if they can hear the difference between an Epiphone with the Gibson hardware and the actual Gibson. I think 99.9% of the amateurs and 50-70% of the professionals will not be able to define which is the Epi with Gibson hardware and the equal Gibson. And IF you can hear that difference.. IF... then you can ask yourself the question: is that worth 2000 Dollar? Specially if you're NOT a pro.
@fenderboy08 I agree with you about both the price difference and Epiphone. The criticize that Epi's inferior are not from most likely from non-pro's as there are several pro's who do use the Epi's to this day. I own two models for Jazz and always receive great reviews and have others ask to borrow them from time to time for recordings or sessions work. To narrow to Gibson only (considering Gibson makes and has their name associated) is overlooking a fine line of guitars.

@ragglefraggle09 Sorry for the late reply. I have tried the Gibson version of this guitar and they feel very very similar. There is not much that you can tell apart besides the headstock and thats really about it. This guitar souds amazing at any setting on my Marshall with out without effects.
I bought this guitar and took it home to my '65 twin reverb. 2 hours of bad sounding slash riffs later, I was checking out with the friendly staff of guitar center with a new Marshall cab and head. You need a Marshall for this guitar. Period.
This is a very wonderful guitar ive had it for four months now and my best recomendation is to use it with a pevey vypyr 2. Sounds great and also if you want a more slash feel use it with the tone nobs tirned to zero it gives a fuller darker sound which is better in my opinion

@fenderboy08 I agree with you about both the price difference and Epiphone. The criticize that Epi's inferior are not from most likely from non-pro's as there are several pro's who do use the Epi's to this day. I own two models for Jazz and always receive great reviews and have others ask to borrow them from time to time for recordings or sessions work. To narrow to Gibson only (considering Gibson makes and has their name associated) is overlooking a fine line of guitars.

I have the Epiphone version, anyone else notice a screw in the neck pickup down where it rests? I wonder if it's an assemble screw up or if that's what slash's sound was, a screw. It's just sitting there loss but stuck to the magnet

@ragglefraggle09 Sorry for the late reply. I have tried the Gibson version of this guitar and they feel very very similar. There is not much that you can tell apart besides the headstock and thats really about it. This guitar souds amazing at any setting on my Marshall with out without effects.

I bought this guitar and took it home to my '65 twin reverb. 2 hours of bad sounding slash riffs later, I was checking out with the friendly staff of guitar center with a new Marshall cab and head. You need a Marshall for this guitar. Period.

This is a very wonderful guitar ive had it for four months now and my best recomendation is to use it with a pevey vypyr 2. Sounds great and also if you want a more slash feel use it with the tone nobs tirned to zero it gives a fuller darker sound which is better in my opinion
