The ending credits go on as long as one of the 3 hr films, lol. This production makes me think of all the other possibilities for movies from the world of Tolkien: Beren and Luthiel, Earendil, The future years of the fellowship, what happens when the elves sail into the west, Tom Bombadil, Hurin, etc. For real hardcore fans there must be courses out there on how to speak elvish, dwarfish and so on. I bet there are even weekend hideaways where you're tutored on how to fight like Aragorn!

Seriously though, there's an idea....A holiday in New Zealand...stay in a hobbit hole...learn the basics of a Tolkien language...be trained to use a sword, an axe, a bow, to ride a horse...basic survival course....then a 2-3 day journey/adventure in full costume where you have to use all the skills you've learnt...all followed by a day-long hobbit-style feast/party to celebrate your successful completion. Damn, the travel company that could put that together would clean up!

Why should this movie be thrilling?

It is a bad copy of LOTR and the actors are as "good" as G.W.Bush. The music, the story and the stylistic devices are not a bit witty.

Please read "Story" of Robert McKee and come back.

You try to make it enthralling when there is nothing to fear.

The trustworthiness doesn't exist.

I can only laugh, when I see Aragorn having problems with one Orc, wich is as big as Aragorn himselfs.

Excellent all around. The plot's true to Tolkien's work and doesnt' clash with the movies. That "cheat" with Strider keeping Gollum in a sack was clever,and the battle with the Orcs was great. The actors all did a fine job.

Jaw droppingly good.

I kept thinking whilst watching "OK I've got to make allowances..." "at some point.... ?" Not once ! I'm not a LOTR fan, so I hope it's more of a complememt. Every aspect is impressive: Music, pace, editting, story board, lighting (My speciality: so nice to see good lighting...), acting, costumes, makeup, costumes, "effects" the list is extraordinary. It blends into a belivable other world, which is so hard to acheive for big budgets, let alone shoe strings.
