She doesn't necessarily have to know english to sing in it. I can sing several japanese songs, a finnish song, a few spanish songs, a french song and a latin song (well, hymn) and I don't know much of those languages at all. I certainly couldn't speak to someone with them. Its fairly easy to memorise a sequence of syllables to music, even if you don't know what they mean ^^
