people who think that harsher jails and harsher sentences reduces crimes are uneducated and stupid. if i robbed somebody down in capitalist america i am looking at 10-15 years. so what i do then? i shoot the hostage in a panic. oh boy, now i am looking at life or death. so now i shoot down all the witnesses to not have anyone testify. then a cop shows up, i shoot him to avoid arrest. now i am looking at death. now i'll shoot them down rather than give in because giving in is sure death.

Alright wow,

First off this video was made in the early 90s, yes Gloria Estefan is at the beginning of each video.

Second, this is just a little clip, there is more, but this was a non-for-profit program to work with the kids directly involved in the system. This is obviously JUVIE, not prison, this was made for YOUNG KIDS.

SO, take it for what it is.

i have gay friends and and work with gays who have all told me that it does not offend them and some of them use it themselves in there own talk. So ease up on the dude dang.

Honestly, when I was a teenager this video wouldn't have scared me at all. I'd have pointed out almost 50% of it is credits and intro words. As for talking to the inmate nothing said told me why I wouldn't want to go to prison / jail.

This video isn't to tell kids about prison daily life; it is more for adults to consider one aspect on why kids end up in prison.

Thats not right inmates have alot of intelligence, there human just like anyone on the streets, they just made mistakes but that dont make them less than a person.

I agree that being an inmate is no indication of intelligence, but I disagree that they just make a mistake & are like other ppl. I`ve known a criminal & he wasn`t like other ppl. He had no conscience, would steal from anyone & could lie looking you straight in the eyes. I`ve never met anyone else like that in my life. He wasn`t merely making mistakes. He was willfully committing crimes & like the girl in this video, he said he was doing it for fun. Criminals don`t have normal or good thinking.

@paisleyyama there are different types of criminals, some are psychopaths some are sociopaths and most are just products of their environment, sounds to my like you came across the psychopathic type

@Robodisco I don`t know the dif. types of criminals but I wouldn`t be surprised if he were a psychopath. He got into some really horrible & scary stuff and felt no sorrow or guilt at all about hurting others yet he spoke & acted so kind & innocent. I never once heard him raise his voice. I never knew such ppl existed until I met him. I was young & felt everyone had a heart & could feel guilt, but boy was I TOTALLY wrong!

@Robodisco Definitely he`s been out of my life for years (he wasn`t a boyfriend) & I`ll never let him back in. I certainly waited way too long to get him out but it was b/c 1)it took a long time for me to realize he was so bad 2) I kept believeing he could change. My advice to anyone is as soon as you realize someone isn`t honest, steals, or has criminal tendencies cut them out of your life then & there. Don`t wait.
