im one of the few amazingly lucky people to have that CD signed by him. My dad went to chicago for a business trip and saw buddy guy after we had been to his concert in vancouver, got it signed, but he had to buy the CD
i've never felt so many chills go through every part of my body in my entire life! Rediculous! It's to the point where it hurts! But the best pain of i've ever felt in my life!
First time I heard the song. Really good like most of his music. I miss the BB King blues festival that used to come through Austin. I got to see the best of the best before father time came a knockin. At one of them John Lee Hooker was scheduled to play with BB and Buddy. Just before the show they announced he had fallen ill and wouldn't appear. Anyone who keeps track of the blues knows what happened next.
umm, yea . . . screw Paul Gilbert; the blues is where it's at. Buddy, B.B, Lonnie Johnson, Reverend Gary Davis, Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Freddie Robinson, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughn . . . blind willie mctell, Robert Johnson, Son House . . . and oh yes, don't forget Churck Berry(underrated!); the blues is definitellty where it's at!
Buddy Guy has been called the bridge between the blues and rock and roll. He is one of the historic links between Chicago electric blues pioneers Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf and popular musicians like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page as well as later revivalists like Stevie Ray Vaughan. Vaughan stated that, "Without Buddy Guy, there would be no Stevie Ray Vaughan."
I first saw Buddy at the Checkerboard circa 1980. I last saw Buddy twice during his latest run at Legends 2011. He was amazing then- he's even better now.
Buggy Guy? More like Buddy God! I love his music. The Blues is such a lyrically deep genre both in the vocals and in the instruments. Musicians like Buddy Guy can express every word in the alphabet with just a guitar.
While in the Medieval ages, kings would lay in their death beds with a sword in their hands. Buddy Guy has drank with kings, so he will lay with a guitar in his hands :D
A couple of minutes of classic blues & suddenly an explosion of Buddy at his very best. Legend is bounced around a lot these days but this man can be very proud to stand amongst the greatest of all time. I saw him in Manchester UK a couple of months back & he's a good as ever & it was a privilege to see him in my country.

This isn't IMO the best buddy guy guitar solo, but this song is the opening track on this album for a reason. Buddy Still has it, at 74 years young.
