i played with him in high school at greenwood... this guy can play some ball, bad set back with the acl... but make no mistake he will work thru it and get better
he would have had an awesome rookie campaign with miami. really excited for him next season tho. i hope he is good enough to replace Crowder in the starting lineup.
A.J., congratulations on being selected by the Miami Dolphins in the 2010 NFL Draft. I know that you are excited and are looking forward to August 14 when you enter Sun Life Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I live in South Carolina (no hard feelings) and can tell you that the Dolphins have a big fan base here. Best of luck in your pro football career.
@mkl62 why do you do this for every player? and your late and probably jinxed Edds by not congratulating him earlier, because he has a torn acl and is out for the year.
im just messing about the jinx, he is out for the season though, which sucks because he is one of the most talented linebackers in last year's class. Why do you do this for every player, almost the same message?
@dwid1984 It's just that this is a new phase in their lives. They are going to have to take it up to the next level if they want to have a job on Labor Day. Tomorrow night, the Cincinnati Bengals and the Dallas Cowboys lock up in the Hall of Fame Game. And anytime, that dreaded knock at the door could come, followed by these words: "Coach wants to see you....and he said to bring your playbook."
@mkl62 aint gonna happen to Edds, or Meier, or Shipley, and everyone else you congratulated. that knock on the door is a long ways away. They all have long careers ahead of them. Blair White is the only one that got screwed over because he is on a team that has a ton of wide receiver depth, yet he is a 6'2 4.5 guy that runs precise routes.
super pissed. definitely wanted to see this guy pick off sanchez this season.
i know he's a good coverage linebacker and he's got range. and that 40 times don't really applyto lb'ers and it's an overrated stat, but anyone know what his 40 is?
There's allmost no doubt this guy is going to be used primarily as a third down OLB this year, with Wake, and Misi playing 1st and 2nd downs. theyll probably sub him in for Wake since he can't cover downfield for shit, he's a pass rush specialist.
@finzfan92..............Or maybe he'll just tear his ACL in training camp and leave us without a good cover LB and pick up where he left off next year. =(
Wow! He looks very good. I know it is going to be a REALLY tough competition for starting linebacker with AJ Edd, Koa Misi, and Cameron Wake. These are all young players with explosive potential.
Cannot wait to see how training camp plays out. Hopefully I will find a way to make it to training camp to see for meself. :)
And I knew there was a reason I was rooting for the Hawkeyes in the Orange Bowl. ;)
Miami got a hell of a player. AJ is soo smart and does all the little things well. He makes everyone around him better and his stats don't show how good of a player he was because he was covering guys down the field more often. There's countless times where he's jumped routes and forced a sack or blown up a lead blocker and forced a negative rushing play.
Parcells realized this is a passing league now, He drafted big but very Ahtletic LBs...these LBs should cover TE easy, this guy is one of the best Ive seen in a while, he can move all over the field, Koa Missy as well, if we can creat lots of turn overs the need for sackin the QB is not eminent, we were 3rd on sacks last season and didnt get us anywhere, JT andf JP were as slow as crap covering.
welcome to the pats....muhahahaha
