I was impress with all the IT hardware. However, I would like to know how much all of the hardware cost without the car. And where can I get a copy of the AI software for my science fair project? Please help
Its awesome what these people can do, now they just have to make a button to call the car, since it has GPS. And if it works perfectly, they can sell it for a lot of money. Respect.
OK...first of all, KITT was a TRANS-AM ! But more important.... Mr. "the one the only" David Hasselfoff drove the infamous vehicle. I understand that the "Hoff" was a big time singer in Germany, but it is an outrage that this American Classic be de-Amercanised as a German counterpart. It is shameful...
on average 42,000 to 45,000 people die every year. age ranging mostly around 16 to 35. computer cars should be here NOW!!! even if an estimated "crash" "error" happens its still less deaths per year by thousands.
While this technology can't take over all driving tasks, you can purchases technology for truck fleets to detect lane 'excursions' (weaving in an out of lanes). LaneAlert is the name of the technology - based on work done during the 1980s at CMU.
Wouldn't be easier and more cost efficient to just drive the car yourself? People have been doing it now for over a century. What's the fun in sitting there while a computer does everthing for you? One minute... I'm running out of memory (better upgrade my brain to 4gb) lol
its more cost efficient to have a car drive its self by far. that and can you really put a price on a life? let me know after you kill some one because you wanted to drive a car over letting a computer drive the car 100X better. and unlike the rest of use that will jump on the new self driving cars you will live the rest of your life knowing you killed some one. have a nice day. and stop slowing down technology with your stupidity.
Wow. All this technical stuff shows, how complex it is driving a car. Music of the video is a bit lame though. But the girl in front of the video screen seems to be a good choice :)
thing is though the car seemed to be controlled mainly by the bloke with a rc component! but still very good, id love a kitt car...

This will totaly abolish all chufars (sorry don't know how to spell it).
Now all it needs is a voice box unit and a red laser thingy.
Nice job!

Isn't this VW steer by wire as well? Why do you need servos controlling the steering?
