Thank you. With your video and the XDA Forums, I now have an up-to-date Vibrant that I'm in love with all over again. I did have boot loop issues when I installed CM7 and ICS Passion. Each time, I had to pull the battery and reinstall, but only once. Again, thank you; I appreciate your time and effort.

FYI, on the step where you flash CM7, if you get stuck in a boot loop (vibrant logo, then cm7 loading, then vibrant logo forever), just pull your battery, then go into recovery (hold both volume buttons and power, let go at Vibrant logo). Then go back to install zip from sd card and reflash CM7. Works every time.

If it keeps bootloping in CM7 just take out the battery and turn on the phone. It should be installed. Then you won't get the orange recovery it would be blue but it's the same. Just follow the steps again!
Eddie - by following your 2 videos EXACTLY not only was I able to get my phone back to stock Eclair but able to get to ICS Passions version 11. Thanks so much! I only wish I would have done this sooner and not relied on stock OS for so long (almost 4 years (along with my G1)).

y do i get continuesboot on my vibrant after i click install cymod 7. it rebbots to vib screen then to vy screen then it jumps to recovery it scrolls real quick and it reboots. and it keeps doin it avor and over again.

ICS really eats up the battery. I find that I am needing to recharge half way thru the day even with light usage. When I check battery usage, the screen used to take the most battery but now the OS itself is. Any ideas?

everytime i try to install the capps.zip file, it goes to set up which crashes and prevents me from using the phone. what's the proper method to use that file or is it even necessary?
thats absolutely correct..just take out the external sd card if its bootlooping at CM7 step..it will imm reboot n u can continue further..i resolved my problem..thanx for d suggestion amongst the group..
Well done! Followed this to flash my girlfriends Vibrant to ICS. I flashed my Fascinate last week to ICS. v13 of the passion seems better then the ICS version on my fascinate.

I tried this seeing the video.. Till CM7 it went off fine..Thereafter it has gone into bootloop...It says... VIBRANT SAMSUNG,,,then GALAXY S CYANOGEN ...then flashes the rebooting for a secong.. and the cycle is continuing.. no response to get it back to recovery.. howevr download mode it is accepting..Request help in this regard..thanx
@kshiau I had the same problem. All I did was wipe the cache again like what was demonstrated in the video and re-applied gingerbread a second time and it came up just fine.
Even though it shows to you the bricked screen "phone--!--computer" do not worry :))) So, after lifting the phone alone with the USB cable and in the same time make sure the Odin program is open and start running the program on your phone regardless of the "phone--!--computer" screen :))) After finishing downloading the phone will turned off and what should you do is plugging the battery again and your phone will be back to life :)))) Take it Seriously guys I am not kidding :))) My phone Back
Whats up guys, I had bricked my Galaxy S Vibrant three days ago and I tried a several ways to unbricked my phone. Also, I bought the Samsung jig and I just tried it and nothing happen for my phone........

how do you fix the stock browser when requesting desktop it always redirects you to a tmobile hotspot tether page. worked for a few days. have tried reflashing from stock and doesn't work.
after a long hours of failure found external sd card was the problem...........finally worked.......tutorial is great and helpful.......no problem with camera,gps,and video recorder.

Yes, I did ROOT my phone and BACK UP it. Also, I were on Froyo 2.2 but I done Odin 3 to get back to Froyo 2.1 (Stock) before I install ICS. But now, I see on my screen a Phone connected to Computer between them An Error sign?
@Dashti9 Did you ROOT the Phone first..? Did you BACK UP the phone..? If you didn't you just BRICK the phone. So you have Recover the phone by using the Odin 3. You have to make sure you were not on 2.2 Froyo. I install the ICS on my Vibrant and it WORKS GREAT..! BY THE WAY PEOPLE you have to check out all of the Videos First..!!!!! Before install ICS.
Now, and after I turn off the phone and took off the battery, I start to recovery the phone to a Stock face. I used the Odin and it work until the half-way I got a blue screen?? and it stops moving?? Is my phone dead :(( The last sign I got it is a Phone picture connected with a computer?? What is this?? Thank you very much..... The steps are clear but my phone it seems has a problem :((
Hi Eddie, I followed your steps carefully and after I reached to install the cm7 from the download file where is located in the zip file in the phone, my phone start to install and reboot and install and reboot and install and reboot......several times. And it gave me a blue screen with v.5.c5.2.1 and that is not Gingerbread? I tried to follow your steps by remove this version and install the ICS but it gave the same error for cm7??!! :-/

At what point did you root the phone. I followed the directions and everything worked up until you got to the orange clockwork screen, my phone took me to the same blue one. Phone was rooted, then I Odin-ed back to stock and started following your video.

Okay I clicked on the show more above and then watched the video. I have also odin'd my SGH-T959 back to stock. I also noticed that they linked to you off of XDA-Developers as a video to watch. Does that mean read the comments below and see how it didn't work for some or follow the video and you should be okay??????
FYI, you need Clockwork Mod to go into the recovery menus that are in the video. To install it, you'll need to root your phone, then go to the Android Market and search for ROM Manager.
It won't let me backup. When I select reinstall packages, it says "E: failed to verify whole-file signature. E: signature verification failed. Installation aborted." does anyone know how to fix this?? I'm running 2.2 KB5 like @draygoomirem said to do. PLEASE HELP

yes.. that works... i installed cyanogen mod 7 like 5 months ago.. and this ice cream sandwich ROM in december and its really cool ;-) / same process like in the video.
now they released the 13 version of the ics passion ROM and is RC ... its amazing
@pimptasticbg Thanks man but I managed already I used ODIN. It got bricked but then I used this trick to get it into download mode works everytime. Plug USB wait for any sign that might be charging even if it's frozen, then hold all 3 buttons and when it goes black, release the power button holding the volume ones and it should go into download mode. Once there use ODIN.
@SupaErupt if it bootloops, just remove the cover and pull the battery. Pop the battery back in and boot into recovery and repeat the flashing steps (wipe cache/wipe data) and it should get you into cm7. You will run into this again when attemtping from cm7 to ics. When that happens follow the steps again.

I tried this seeing the video.. Till CM7 it went off fine..Thereafter it has gone into bootloop...It says... VIBRANT SAMSUNG,,,then GALAXY S CYANOGEN ...then flashes the rebooting for a secong.. and the cycle is continuing.. no response to get it back to recovery.. howevr download mode it is accepting..Request help in this regard..thanx

@kshiau I had the same problem. All I did was wipe the cache again like what was demonstrated in the video and re-applied gingerbread a second time and it came up just fine.

Even though it shows to you the bricked screen "phone--!--computer" do not worry :))) So, after lifting the phone alone with the USB cable and in the same time make sure the Odin program is open and start running the program on your phone regardless of the "phone--!--computer" screen :))) After finishing downloading the phone will turned off and what should you do is plugging the battery again and your phone will be back to life :)))) Take it Seriously guys I am not kidding :))) My phone Back

Whats up guys, I had bricked my Galaxy S Vibrant three days ago and I tried a several ways to unbricked my phone. Also, I bought the Samsung jig and I just tried it and nothing happen for my phone........
So guys hear this the new news that discovered today.....I took off my battery then plugged it again and after that I connected my phone by the USB cable to my Computer. Then I took off my Battery lifting my PHONE with the USB cable alone without the battery.

after a long hours of failure found external sd card was the problem...........finally worked.......tutorial is great and helpful.......no problem with camera,gps,and video recorder.
others be sure to remove external sd card before trying this.......

By the way the first couple of times it didn't work because I was on 2.2 Foyo and used Kies.
Had to reinstall stock 2.1 using Odin. Once I did that, followed all the steps and vola', ICS on my little vibrant.

Yes, I did ROOT my phone and BACK UP it. Also, I were on Froyo 2.2 but I done Odin 3 to get back to Froyo 2.1 (Stock) before I install ICS. But now, I see on my screen a Phone connected to Computer between them An Error sign?

@Dashti9 Did you ROOT the Phone first..? Did you BACK UP the phone..? If you didn't you just BRICK the phone. So you have Recover the phone by using the Odin 3. You have to make sure you were not on 2.2 Froyo. I install the ICS on my Vibrant and it WORKS GREAT..! BY THE WAY PEOPLE you have to check out all of the Videos First..!!!!! Before install ICS.

Now, and after I turn off the phone and took off the battery, I start to recovery the phone to a Stock face. I used the Odin and it work until the half-way I got a blue screen?? and it stops moving?? Hi Eddie, I followed your steps carefully and after I reached to install the cm7 from the download file where is located in the zip file in the phone, my phone start to install and reboot and install and reboot and install and reboot......several times. And it gave me a blue screen with v.5.c5.2.1 and that is not Gingerbread? I tried to follow your steps by remove this version and install the ICS but it gave the same error for cm7??!! :-/

At what point did you root the phone. I followed the directions and everything worked up until you got to the orange clockwork screen, my phone took me to the same blue one. Phone was rooted, then I Odin-ed back to stock and started following your video.

Okay I clicked on the show more above and then watched the video. I have also odin'd my SGH-T959 back to stock. I also noticed that they linked to you off of XDA-Developers as a video to watch. Does that mean read the comments below and see how it didn't work for some or follow the video and you should be okay??????

FYI, you need Clockwork Mod to go into the recovery menus that are in the video. To install it, you'll need to root your phone, then go to the Android Market and search for ROM Manager.

@pimptasticbg Thanks man but I managed already I used ODIN. It got bricked but then I used this trick to get it into download mode works everytime. Plug USB wait for any sign that might be charging even if it's frozen, then hold all 3 buttons and when it goes black, release the power button holding the volume ones and it should go into download mode. Once there use ODIN.

@SupaErupt if it bootloops, just remove the cover and pull the battery. Pop the battery back in and boot into recovery and repeat the flashing steps (wipe cache/wipe data) and it should get you into cm7. You will run into this again when attemtping from cm7 to ics. When that happens follow the steps again.
