God's word will stand as TRUTH and RIGHTEOUSNESS for ever, but his commands are not always applicable to every age. It's because God wants you to LIVE that He sent Christ to die on your behalf, to be your righteousness, so that your failure to keep the law in its entirety would not result in your eternal death. Although the old testament laws are righteousness, they are not always gracious, and that is why many were changed according to the new covenant. See candlecrossministry.co.uk for more.
I was just thinking about the most religious person in our neighborhood where I grew up 30 yrs ago who wouldn't allow his kids to sled on Sunday. This same person was a car dealer and I caught his son rolling back speedometers with a drill. Guess what his response was..."God will keep the car going".
I had my house built 15 years ago by a Christian. He praised the word of God while building houses and not reporting the income. He wanted me to lie to the Income Tax People.
@Cootabux At the end of the day, I hate when people argue in such a fashion. Your not arguing to build up, your arguing to tear down. Even if I am wrong, even if my argument was incoherent and utter foolishness, that isn't really a reason to be condescending, is it? An intelligent person is great, but people prefer a philanthropist to a genius anyway. They don't have to contradict you. Fix your attitude and maybe you can actually help people, and argue using rationale, not emotional words.
@Cootabux Reagrdless of whether your interpretations and exegesis of the passage reflect actual Biblical belief well, it does not prove the Bible OR God false. All it means is you disagree with the morality that you think the Bible contains. What does the Bible say, what do Jews/Christians believe? I feel like that is something that validly effects the morality issue. Regardless, you moral argument as an atheist is self defeating and it proves nothing but your own prefrences...
Regardless of whether your interpretations and exegesis of the passage reflect actual Biblical belief well, it does not prove the Bible OR God false
Oh brother! I'm not trying to prove god as false. No one can prove a negative. I'm trying to demonstrate the absurdity of the Xian god....being a god!
Look, they were no diff. than any other pantheon. They all had their gods & there were hundreds! In fact, if u study the Ugaritic Texts, you'll find that the earliest Hebrews
were Canaanites. When they broke away & took the Canaanite Elohim (aka the Mighty Ones, or The Divine Counsel) with them. They worshiped these gods (polytheistic) until their priests decided to go monotheistic. This is where Yahweh comes in. They dethrone the real god, El, & put Yahweh in his place, they even gave him El's consort, Asherah!
This was fun reading & explains how they reinvented their god!
My moral argument? Ha, ha! Sorry, you'll have to go back & start again.
@Cootabux What you call insane and barbaric is subjective. If there is no God or higher power to put a moral law into place it doesn't exist- it is but a human construct. I find it self defeating for an atheist to make a moral claim in this way. The fact that you acknowledge this perplexes me then why you would even make the statement. It is only a way for you to set up an emotional argument, not a logical one. If you disagree with the morality of the Bible and of the Biblical God...
What u call insane & barbaric is subjective. If there is no God or higher power to put a moral law into place it doesn't exist- it is but a human construct. I find it self defeating for an atheist to make a moral claim in this way.
Then again, u misunderstand "an atheist's point!"
The Laws of god & his psychopathic mentality, go hand in hand! There is no objective morality!!! It's all subjective. This is why I press the issue of god's killing & barbarity.
@Cootabux enforced. I take it you are not a Jew. Before you going condemning the text, figure out what the people who actually believe and follow the text have to say about it. What does Judaism teach concerning these things? What does Christianity teach? I would not kill these people. Especially, since I am not under such a law but because Christianity teaches mercy and forgiveness. Say what you want about the Scripture-it isn't your scripture to interpret. What does the religion say about it?
enforced. I take it you are not a Jew. Before you going condemning the text
I think again, u r missing my point. I'm not discussing the intricate relationship between the Jews and their laws, but the orders of their god, the teachings of that god. And the law is a small part of it, but an important part. Mainly the slavery, the misogyny, and laws like killing for picking up sticks on the Sabbath, forcing a rape victim to marry her rapist...a god created these laws?? No!
@Cootabux Now another thing your missing is you have seen the laws, but you do not know how those laws were put into practice. Much of Judaism is comprised of oral traditions (many of which are now written down). Its wrong for you to make a judgment on a law /scripture without doing the exegesis. How many people do you know were actually killed for breaking the law. Are you sure it was not a potential consequence? You can be fined for doing 5 over the speed limit, but how often does it get..
Now another thing your missing is you have seen the laws,
Another thing I'm missing???? Please...you missed my entire message, or made an assumption.
Yes, it was oral, for a long time. Scribes were scarce & expensive.
How many people do I know of who were actually killed for breaking the law??
I should even have to explain this, now that u should understand my point that a god who makes such laws as a raped woman must marry her rapist...is not a god. These were men's laws.
@Cootabux It has been a long time, 10 months actually, but I want to respond. 1) Your argument carries emotional words which makes your argument sound more compelling than it actually is. There might be something wrong with killing other people who do not follow your god's laws, but what if the god killing was your own God. Than that God's laws are alo your laws and the communities. In antiquity communities did not distinguish religion from government, they were basically the same thing....
Isn't that why god gives man laws? Man is blind, has no direction, so god gives man his laws, & we'd expect them to be more spiritually inclined. Man has his animal nature...he needs god to guide him...
But that's not what we see in scripture! We find god to have the same barbaric mentality of his chosen 1s!
Of course you'll see religion in Gov. Men wrote scripture, and created their gods! That's been my point all along.
It's so obvious, but then, many don't want to see it.
@Samura1gamer Yeah! It boggles the mind. They know deep down it is repulsive, but are so afraid of their own mortality that they cherry pick and try to justify it to hold onto the lie that they will not die after death in a nut shell. That, or they crave power like our "friends" in the Vatican.
@Samura1gamer ROFL yeah can u belive they use that? I mean really?
Should the fact the it's "old testament" mean it's better than the new stuff as is closer to the time when jesus was actualy around?LOL religous people sure are funny.
One of the worst biblical laws I've ever laid eyes on was the one that said, a women who was raped had to marry her rapist. It isn't worded exactly that way, but the end result is the same exact thing.
This would also include young girls maybe as young as12 years old! Can U imagine the psychological & emotional damage done to a woman of any age, who had to marry her rapist & be subjected to a continual raping all of the remainder of her life?? I cannot fathom that, yet it was common back then.
That's funny if all rebelious teenagers should be put to death we'd all be dead except the last person doing the stoning. Do you suppose out of his love for god he would stone himself
Edward, you are a wonderful human being, keep up the good work.
I find it refreshing that men Edwards age are as rational as me, and those younger than me, as religion was a way of life here in Britain at one time, no one dared question it, but he and several of my friends his age now feel free to speak openly about their liberation.
@mrblackout2000 Agree Religion is a fraud. Jesus is not Religion, Christianity is Not Religion. That's the part of truth you are missing. There are some (churches, organizations, etc) who have falsely misled many by turning Christianity into a Religion or false cult but that's the catch, you need to differentiate the true God versus Religion because this can save you from eternal torment in Hell, without Jesus there's no future but torment in Hell, nothing less.
@ppwstevie95, does it make you uncomfortable that your God reportedly once upon a time wanted people who gathered sticks, or worked, on a particular day of the week, to be stoned to death? Is it the same God now as then? Has your God changed his mind?
Mr. Tarte is quite correct. God changed his mind, many, many times. He did so with the 10 Commandments, in making two different sets....and they were very different.
If god was perfect, he wouldn't have to change his mind, nor would he have 2nd thoughts, or repent for his actions. We see this very thing repeatedly!
One consistent thing with you is that you post a lot of nonsense! You make many proclamations but never back it up with evidence! So how about providing some...I can.
I find it funny when people take the position that the Hebrew god never changes, yet he obviously does. The change from Elohim(gods) to El(god), the anthropomorphic nature of the deity(ex. Gen. 3:8, Isaiah 1:13, Deut. 23:13-14) and his evolution to "sky daddy" are typically ignored. Also, the historical progression of Hebrew religion from polytheism(Elohim) to monolatry(No other gods before Me) to monotheism(I am the first and I am the last; besides Me there is no god) is evident.
@ppwstevie95 , So the ten commandments mean nothing anymore as "that's OT", right? So, we can kill, lie, etc, etc? I'm LOVING IT! Thanks for freeing me up!
@ppwstevie95 Oh, so you cherry pick scripture from the OT, that won't work in the least! If you claim that some scripture of the OT is still valid you cannot get away with saying some isn't!! It's either all valid or none!
@ppwstevie95 but you see, I don't lie, kill, steal, swear, have affairs, etc so I don't need forgiveness! If I do were to say have an affair(which I won't but for sake of argument), I would ask my wife for forgiveness as she's the one I would have sinned against!
@ppwstevie95 I don't sin! I have NEVER had an affair, and I'm more moral than you! I don't need forgiveness for anything! I do need an apology from religious people for lying to me, but they don't apologize to nonbelievers as they "think" they're better than them! In reality they're nothing more than scared, diluted, ignorant sheep!
@ppwstevie95, you have no business accusing 99minerkc of sin. And i cannot overemphasize what I say because of your telling him that he sins every day. Religion has truly poisoned your thoughts.
@ppwstevie95You are commanded by your invisible daddy to kill me. I am an atheist, I do whatever I like on Sunday, I have blasphemed, I have thought unclean thoughts, I promote gay rights, I have lied, I refuse to kneel down to a capricious genocidal maniac who claims he is divine justice and all loving. The list goes on... You are deluded. You have been poisoned by an ideology dreamt up by primitive man in a far away land 1000's of years ago. You preach intolerance and should be ashamed. Think!
@ppwstevie95 That's just sick. If I hurt someone, the responsibility is mine. The very idea that someone could be brutally killed and thus somehow take that away from me is an insane, disgusting excuse for lack of moral thinking. Even more so since we're talking about a god who made all the rules, screwed up his own creation, then sacrifices himself to himself in order to save us from punishment for his blunderings. On second thought - it's not disgusting. It's actually quite funny.
@ppwstevie95 Jesus believed that the Old Testament was divinely inspired, the veritable Word of God. He said, "The Scripture cannot be broken" (John 10:35). He referred to Scripture as "the commandment of God" (Matthew 15:3) and as the "Word of God" (Matthew 15:6)
He cannot be refering to new testament as it had not been written yet.
Jesus refers to OT: Sodom (Luke 17:29, 32) Cainand Abel (Luke 11:51) Moses (Mark 12:26) Daniel (Matthew 24:15) Noah(Matthew 24:37) Adam and Eve (Matthew 19:1-6)
@ppwstevie95 Surely though you don't even need to find quotes from new testament. The simple fact that the OT is part of the bible is itself proof that what is written there is to be believed and followed.
If not, then why is it part of the bible?
The god of the OT is the same god as the NT, if he is god then everything he said is to be followed. right?
Ask yourself: do you believe ALL the rules in the OT are true and should be followed? if not then why follow a religion that says OT is true.
@ppwstevie95 "That's all old testament." So that wasn't your god? and when Jesus says that the old laws still apply, you just ignored that part of the New Testament? Try actually reading a Bible for once.
@ppwstevie95 Yeah, the original version 1.0 god was killed off by the new and improved god version 2.0, but watch out, because version 3.0 (Allah.) is coming to take his place. ( He is currently still in beta, but the Muslims are hoping for final release soon. ) Ha ha ha..
OT, NT, it makes no difference...same god. That is if you're a believer it's the same god. others of us see it as two entirely different groups of men who wrote scripture, and "claimed" it was god! We can see the different mentality of the OT vs. NT authors. We see much change in the NT...the invention of hell, the inclusion of Gentiles...Paulinian politics!
These facts aren't known by those who only read scripture.
You should be put to death? Are you a Jew? No? Well then you are wrong. Are Walmart workers all Jews? Rebellious teens? Are you sure you understand the metaphors and contexts here? If you do, then not only are you a Jew, you are a Bronze age Hebrew! What if homosexuality causes virulent diseases that wiped out towns and tribes? Again with the context. Didn't Christ's death fulfill the Law? I think you should acknowledge that you are no historian.
Jesus Died for our sins, Rose again on the third day and has come to that we may have life an life more abundantly.....The new testament says that Sin is to be abolished and people are to turn away from Sin.......We are not under the law because of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The law will stay until all is come to pass, but Jesus is giving everyone a way out of their sin by accepting him into their hearts and being compelled to build a non-religious relationship with him....
Kcir, the reasons I make these videos are that I value truth, and I am convinced that as religious faith recedes and rational thought advances, our species will evolve in better directions. I deal with Acts 15:29 by ignoring it. Watch my video Bible--Word of God.
@edwardtarte Yes, much easier to ignore parts and pick out other parts to pick apart without looking at the whole truth. We are all sinners, whether you believe that or not. In the old testament living by the law is what saved people. But we are no longer saved by the law, but by grace through faith. Jesus dies and paid the penalty once and for all. The world is only around 7000 years old, and we have not evolved, but adapted. You were created, everything has design, and a designer.
@mtpwrstroke Seriously tart, look at everything. Our sun and how our earth orbits it in just the perfect way to support life on this earth. Look at the human body, the incredible design. The possibility of all these things happening by chance is non existent. You try so hard to disprove the God who created and loves you. If you really want to be subjective, read the whole bible through and through. And pray for God to reveal himself to you. If its all a lie, what do you have to lose......
The human body's incredible design? You mean god giving us one pipe to eat & breathe with, which kills thousands each year from choking? Is this designer the same one who gave us the Plague, Small Pox, etc.? You see the Cosmos as designed, yet it's filled with deadly Radiation, Comets & Black Holes?
Maybe u should study both sides of the equation. And btw, we have done all those things U suggest...B4 you were born. It was my studies of scripture & early Judaism that made me atheist.
U said; "If you really want to be subjective, read the whole bible through and through. And pray for God to reveal himself to you. If its all a lie, what do you have to lose......"
Do u really think we've never prayed for god to reveal himself or at least some evidence? We've done these things countless times thru our Xian period. He doesn't exist, just as prayers are not answered. Ever seen a Downs Syndrome child healed? Never!
God loves us, but threatens us with hell fire? Ha!
@mtpwrstroke Your message to Edward is really on the money, perfect response. But unfortunately the guy has bought the lie of Satan and I see strong probabilities of him going into the kingdom of Darkness, not judging, just observing. He has believed in a lie because he wants to, not because he doesn't "know" he is deadly wrong, he is just rebellious, just as Satan is, and same destiny he seems to be going into, sad indeed. Satan uses "rationalism" to deceive many
I'm not trying to prove anything to you. I'm sharing my views on the subject.
Evidence for God depends on what evidence one is willing to accept..
and in spite of what "logical " people claim.. they do not really come to beliefs based merely on evidence at all. They come to beliefs based on experience. Because experience is what determines how we deal with evidence.
..as such.. it is we who choose to be damned. God does not will that even be damned.
As long as we Judge God, than we are proclaiming ourself to be God.. and in so doing are consuming our own finite selves.
God allows us to Judge Him, and thus He allows us to Damn ourselves. IT is the Cost of being created in the Image of God ( Christ).. that being gods ( small g)..we can either become forever greater and larger or become forever smaller and less.
Ash, I am not proclaiming myself to be God. I am not choosing to be damned. You have a God in whom you believe. The burden of proof is upon you to give solid evidence to support your belief in your God. You make statement after statement without a shred of supporting evidence. You are making huge claims, and you need huge evidence to support them. I find no credible evidence for any of your claims.
" it is we who choose to be damned. God does not will that even be damned. "
What about the countless peoples slaughtered during alleged Joshua's genocide/conquest of Canaan? You know, the ones that God commanded be wiped out entirely: man, woman, child, and animal. Certainly they didn't go to Abraham's Bosom, but hell had not been invented yet, either. So tell me, where did these people, whose only crime was not having been born Israelites, go when they died?
This is a great comment! We can see why Xians flag such comments as spam. They hate hearing the truth.
The reason for the Hebrew extermination of the Canaanites, is critical in understanding the roots of Judaism and how they tried to hide their early years of Polytheistic beliefs. In other words, the early Hebrews were absolutely no different than the Canaanite Pantheon. Their Elohims were plural, their gods were the same. They tried to hide this with their extermination of Canaan.
Those who are becoming more. and THose who are becoming less.
Those who ar becoming more.. are growing.. becasue they are devouring the things of God.
those who are becoming less.. ( the hellish).. are devouring themselves. They are edevouring themselves through Self appointed Godhood.. by Judging God. In doing this, they are manifesting their own destruction.. because creations are finite and only God is infinite.
You, and I both have a nature that seeks to Judge God. That is the sin nature. as such, your position is the common human position on the Biblical God.
Because we play God, by thinking we know what Good is. that is what happened when we partake of the "knowledge of Good and Evil".
Judgment from God only exists because of our Judgment HIm.
Animals do not Judge God, hence they cannot be damned.
Jonah 2-2 Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. 3 For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.
( Here, we see Hell ) Sheol, being described by Jonah before he is even dead, King David also does this.. why?.. because Hell involves the kingdom of death.. which is temporary.. no eternal ).
Ashen, you are wasting your time to quote the Bible to me. The Bible is of no value as a basis for religious beliefs. Watch my video Bible--Word of God.
The bible is also not the Word of God. The Word of God can be found within the Bible.. but the Bible itself is just a fallen man's words that represent an UN-fallen spiritual Word.. known also as Christ.
Yet you quote scripture to argue against scripture.. and then tell me that quoting scripture is of no use. That is silly.
Ashen, I quote the Bible in order to explain how the God of the Bible is described. This does not imply that I accept the Bible as being an accurate reflection of reality, nor that I believe in the Biblical God or any god. That is perfectly logical, not silly.
OF course that is not silly. What is silly is making it an issue if I quote the Bible to try and correct your claimof what the Bible says.
Whether or not you believe in it, there are certain things it says, and certain things it does not say. Some of these ideas are quite open to interpretation.. some are quite concrete and specific// liek the subject of Sheol ( Hades, Hell).
Then death and Hades ( Hell) were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ( Here, we see that there is an end to death and hades.. hell is not eternal).
Hell is not eternal. That would be the lake of fire. And it is not eternal in the sense of endless time.. but rather of Finality.
As something dies than can Never live again.. such is the Eternity of that Judgement.
Hell, Sheol, Hades... are all a temporary place... that according to scripture gets thrown into the Lake of Fire, which woul be eternal Finality , the enternal unCreating.
Ashen, your comment is related to my Hell video rather than to this video. And nothing that you say has any evidence to support it. Everything that you say is imaginary, mythological, delusion.
I find your low view of imagination and myth to be disturbing.
To quote Einstein- " imagination is more important than knowledge".
And, I hope you are not displeased by anything that can be called a "myth". For "Myth" is a term only in modern times understood to purport to only fictional or "imaginary" accounts and stories.
Einstein drew attention to the essential importance of artistic expression in our human culture. The wise people who understand that build art museums, not churches.
Imagination is 'the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses' (quote from my dictionary).
You imagine your mythological concepts to be factual without supporting empirical evidence. The probability that your are delusional is extensive.
I agree with what you are saying here. Most of Christianity doesn't really get what they are even reading in their Bibles. Here's some food for thought though. Take it or leave it as you wish: "And behold, I have given you the law and the commandments of my Father, that ye shall believe in me, and that ye shall repent of your sins, and come unto me with a broken heart and a contrite spirit. Behold, ye have the commandments before you, and the law is fulfilled." -Book of Mormon, 3 Ne. 12:19
MrM, what about the unfortunate people who were under the law? Is it the same God now as then? Has he changed his mind? Now it is even worse: your New Testament God is creator and overseer of hell, an infinitely unjust place of eternal torment. Your God is unspeakably evil and cruel, even more so now. Watch my Hell video. What solid evidence do you have for the existence of anything that you call grace, or even for the existence of your God? We atheists find no such evidence.
Just wondering why dont people realize that THE BIBLE WAS WRITTEN BY CAVEMEN NOT GOD? its common sense, there is no evidence at all, and people point out stories in the bible matching events at that time, well ofcourse they would they were written by men of that time.
2 rules love god love your neighbors it's all jesus says in the bible. the ten comandments where used for the jews until Christ came to earth and made salvation free to everyone so no one would have to kill lambs to cleanse thier sins. it's why the bible is split in two old and new teastament. christians follow the new testament. so by the new teastament your'e good to go.
Okay, something you need to realize, is that while EVERYONE realizes this is the common christian "rationialization" of the bible, it is not RATIFIED, or ESTABLISHED as true
If God is perfection, there would be no need for "split testaments", evertyhing that is "good" about God would have alwasy been, and to say there is seomthing wrong with the OT or the OT implies a contradiction, makes GOD imperfect, Whether you only follow the NT or not. There is no beating around this bush.
@GnomesAmok the need for split testaments is the fact God favors the jews. the new testament make Jesus the savior of the gentiles he's our midiator God is still as jealous and vengful as he's portraid in the bible that if you'd read tells how he's gonna destroy by fire. but jesus came down as our spokesperson to give everyone salvation.
Excuse me. If I can add a view point to this, Sir. I think you're right. Although I'm not Atheist. I'm a Pagan Wiccan. But I've read the bible twice in my 14 years before switching. And I do think it contradicts itself in multiple places. Why would 'god' make it against the 'great law' to be Gay if he is the one that lest people be Gay in the first place. Hypocrites. I'm a rebel teen, and I'm loving every minute of it. I LOVE RASTA (but pot is bad) )O( <3
It's a relationship, not a religion. God did what it was impossible for man to do. Why did Jesus speak so harshly to the Scribes and Pharassee? Blind Pharasee!, he exclaimed. God paid the ultimate price because He loves us..Please watch a 2hr teaching called "The Acropolis of The Christian Faith" by Paul Washer. It may be the answer you are looking for.
Was it not a man (Moses) that asked for the law? Did Jesus say He came not to abolish the law but to fulfill it? Did jesus also say "the greatest commandment is to LOVE the Lord with all your heart, mind and soul, and LOVE your neighbor as yourself? And did he not say, the whole LAW and the prophets are fulfilled in this one saying,"You shall LOVE your neighbor as yourself"? Did Christ not cancel the written code by nailing it to the cross Col. 2:13-15 . My friend, for God so loved that He gave
Edward, even though you are on the same course to damnation that SgtPilip went down, I can't believe you are the type of atheist that spews the type of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit that we all can see on this page that SgtPilip did. Please turn before it is too late for you too, Edward. Only God knows if it is too late for you also, but if there is still a chance, please turn away from damnation unto eternal life in Christ Jesus. Just ask him to save you if there is still a chance for you.
Jim, I follow my conscience. I follow it in making these videos, and I have consistently followed my conscience throughout my entire life. Maybe you do not realize that, Realizing that, do you still say that I am headed to damnation? Does your God damn people who sincerely and honestly follow their consciences?
Edward, God has warned us that our consciences can be seared away as if they had been burned with a hot iron (when we reject the Truth of God). And since you have "rejected" the Lord, you obviously do not have a conscience grounded in his truths. Therefore, your life's sincere intentions are not the deciding factor. We are all equal in God's eyes. From the lofty to the low-> if we disbelieve God we condemn ourselves. Condemnation is our own doing. (Read: John 3:14-20; Particularly: verse 18).
I have a question on this whole "god sees us equal and loves us all" thing that I hear whenever religious talk comes up... If god were to be real, and love us all and such, why would he condemn us? The bible says we are all gods children correct? How many loving parents would not only wish for their childrens eternal damnation, but be the ones to commit them to this? If I stopped loving my own parents, I don't think they would ever wish for me to be eternally tortured. I doubt any parents would
SgtPilip: unfortunately you don't understand that you have committed blaspemy against the Holy Spirit. What part of that did you not understand? I am not God, but I showed you where Jesus himself said,"If any man speak blashemies against the Holy Ghost he cannot be forgiven." I am truly sorry you are in this predicament, but You had your free will choice to NOT say what you said against the Holy Spirit, but you made that fatal error on your own. You have no one to blame but yourself.
You didn't answer me. I did not ask what I did "wrong". I asked why someone who loves there children would condemn them to eternal damnation. Why? I would never wish for someone to suffer that came from my own image/soul/body. It is inconceivable. If you had a child, would you really want them to suffer for eternity? Would you be the one to "pull the trigger"? If you would, then I don't see how "God" could love you. I don't see it as possible. And that is just ONE reason I can not devote myself.
SgtPilip: I am truly sorry about your situation. I could try to answer your questions, but I believe God wills for me to leave you alone. God only wants me to witness to those that have a chance to repent and to receive the gift of eternal life. You have committed blaspemy against the Holy Spirit, therefore you are gone. I can not waste any more time on the eternally lost. (and for those that are wondering what is going on here, please scroll down and read the record)
HAHAHHAHAHAHA! OF CORSE! Damn me for damning myself before I got a damn answer.
Man, your a slippery one. I thought I could have gotten a straight answer from a follower of the bible for once... Ah... I was close! But, of corse since I have been damned for my blasphemy... I cant get an answer... To bad. It would have been nice. Oh well, at-least I still have my sanity to look forward to...
Sgt, thank you so much for raising the questions about hell. Hell as eternal torture is surely the most cruel and evil of all religious doctrines. In worshiping an imagined god who created and oversees hell and who provides no evidence of his existence, and a Biblical Jesus who supports that god and his hell, and in threatening you by quoting a thoroughly unreliable source (the Bible), JimR is unspeakably depraved.
Sgt, notice in comments above that JimR told me I am headed for damnation (but unlike you there is hope for me:)); so I replied to JimR that I follow my conscience, and I asked him whether his god damns people that follow their consicences. I interpret his reply as saying that his god still damns me to hell. You sound to me like a person who follows his conscience also. The bottom line is: JimR is depraved beyond any words that can describe it. I thank you for being one of my supporters.
SgtPilip: [Jesus] "Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come." Matthew 12:31-32 (You were sincerely warned, and now you are eternally lost) JESUS IS THE LORD. PRAISE GOD.
I know you will probably reject this reasoning , however I will give it a try. Man was perfect and lived in the full presence of God in the garden of eden until they were corrupted by satan and thus the sin nature of man.
As for the crusaders, just because someone claims to do one thing in Gods name doesn't mean it was neccessarily inspired by God. I can't look at those men's hearts and judge there motives. But the only sin that can not be forgiven is rejecting jesus.
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is essentially rejecting God's witness of his only begotten Son Jesus. Yet; Cursing the Holy Spirit or mocking the Holy Spirit, can be, and is blasphemy. I always warn others to avoid this, even the enemies of Christ, because Christ died to save all of us, and we all need the length of our God given space to stand a chance to repent and turn from wickedness. If we commit blashemy against the Holy Spirit we are done for and will not have any more time.
Here's the way I see things. Heaven is the full presence of God and hell is the full absence of God. Does god make hell bad or is hell anything but good because it does not contain any shred of God.
Evil can only come out of good, but good can not come from evil. If there is evil, then there must, by default, be a good. If there is evil in this world, where did that evil come from, it must have come from good that has been corrupted.
I encourage you once again to look up the prophecy of tyre.
"Only a Sith deals in absolutes" is about all I can say for your argument. What I am getting from that, is that all people are good until corrupted? Ok, well what corrupts us? I can certainly say one thing for sure, the people who have killed hundreds of thousands of people in the name of God were not GOOD people. Killing = evil. Thats how I see it. So people who killed in the crusades, FOR GOD, are "evil". They had to be corrupted from your argument, what other than "God" could have done that?
Hey im back to try another swing at this, but do I think it is ok to stone rebellious teens? No of course not. I was pointing out that those laws applied to a different time period and that those laws clearly don't apply today. Jesus came to demolish the law and set himself as the one and only true pathway to God.
Take a look at the prophecy of Tyre in Ezekiel. The prophecy still holds true to this day even though it was accurately foretold hundreds of years ago. It is very convincing.
GodSaves, no context ever existed nor could exist in which it would be OK to stone rebellious teens. And your Biblical God was the same God in the OT as in the NT. He was horribly evil in the OT. He is even worse in the NT: as creator and overseer of hell,a place of eternal torture, your imaginary Biblical God of the NT is infinitely cruel, unjust, evil.
All I have to say is that I hope all of the believers of atheism are correct because it is a win-win situation for me. If your beliefs are right and I am wrong then we will all just die. No heaven, no hell. But, if my religion proves to be correct in the end of time then I will go to heaven and all who don't believe will find themselves as an intruder in a Devil's hell.
Also, I have no problem with any of the scripture you have quoted I believe in everything that was quoted and have no problem with it. Just stop and think about If the law was put into effect that a teenager would be stoned to death for no obeying his/her parents we wouldn't have near the crime we do today. As soon as the first one was stoned to death. that would send a very strong message to the rest of that age group. LOL
Spd, if you really favor stoning rebellious teens to death--even once--then you are a horribly evil person. And if you think I should be killed for tutoring math students on the Sabbath, I would not object if someone would spit in your face for that.
Edward: Jesus made it clear that if a man's donkey fell into a pit on the sabbath that it would not be a sin to lift a hand to help that donkey out of that pit. You do not sin by tutoring on the sabbath as far as I can see. You are saving the minds of young people, and it must be performed when it must be performed, even if on the sabbath. Ed, you tend to see only the old testament first laws, but you miss the liberty in Christ to do good works, free from dogmatic legalism.
I really must agree Edward on this, without question. If you wish to stone people to death, that is unbelievably evil and wrong. Not to mention, isn't one of the commandments "Thou shall not kill"? Yet, you say you want to not only kill rebellious teens, but in a slow, painful way? This seems so unbelievably contradictory. I really cannot describe how dumb that is. On that note, with that commandment, how do you justify things like the crusades and other religiously motivated acts of slaughter?
Spd, how do you know that your God will not give higher favor to honest sincere skepticism and reliance on evidence and will not look with disfavor on reliance on faith in the absence of credible evidence? This would not be a win-win situation for you.
For those who tell me I am "evil" or anything, and that I cannot find enlightenment on my own, I respond with, "I have found enlightenment, within my friends, family and community. None of who claim I am evil or ill-informed." Without other people there is no enlightenment. Catholic, Christian, Jewish or Muslim. The happiest, kindest people I have ever met are atheist or agnostic. With acceptions to people who are weakly bound to religion, and never preach it. Sorry, lots of posting.
As a note, I would like to say that I was essentialy raised Catholic, I went to a private Catholic school from 3rd to 7th grade. I am not ignorant on how the church works, nor what the bible says. The school I went to did to me the opposite of what they were likely intending to do. Instead of closing my eyes and telling me what is in front of me (God) they opened my eyes. All I saw was bureaucratic, ill minded fools looking towards paper and red wine for ultimate enlightenment...
too bad since the bible is a spiritual book its talking about spiritual death. Adam and eve died. But yet lived. I believe you have a serious problem. your old and as far as i can tell. Not going to a good place. The wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. Let the wise be made as fools and the fools be made wise.
Sorry I know I've left a lot of comments, however i thought that it was also important to address the Sabbath.
In Mark 2:23 Jesus is walking through a grain field with his disciples on the traditional sabbath day and some pharisees( teachers of the law) see Jesus's disciples eating some grain and say that it is unlawful because they are "working" on the sabath. Jesus reproaches them saying the sabath was made for man not man for the sabath. God wants us to be able to enter his rest.
sacrifice so that whosoever believes in him will have eternal life and have the privilege to worship and live with him forever.
Galatians 3:23-25 states "Before this faith came(Jesus), we were held prisoners by the law. So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith(Jesus)has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law."
I also want to say that I respond because I care for you and that I hope you can rest in the love of Jesus.
HI Mr. Tarte, my name is Justin and I'm a senior in High School.
I accepted Jesus into my heart when I was about 8 years old and have known his love since then.
After God led Israel out of Egypt he laid out rules that he wanted followed aka the law. The law was designed to show these people how God wanted them to live and when they failed, God just said to find a animal and sacrifice it so that its blood will cover your sins. Jesus came to set us free from the law and be the one and final
"So just relax and stop resisting the Holy Spirit of God" makes it sound like this Holy Spitit fella is trying to get into Edward's rear. TOTALLY makes no sense seing as the bible says to kill gay people.
On that note, Jim, how do you explain priests molesting little kids? Boys non the less! Does "god" combandeth thee? Are they NOT going to "hell" for this atrocious lack of respect for there fellow humans?
Also, I want a count. How many people did the devil kill in the bible? God?
SgtPilip...I rarely address the comments of vulgar people, but I have to warn you of what the Bible describes as the eternal sin, which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. This eternal sin can be committed while we are still in this world, and will NOT be forgiven anyone. Your comments toward the Holy Spirit are dangerously close, or could have already gone over the edge. If you have in fact not yet committed blasphemy against the holy spirit, I would be very serious about ammending your ways.
You seem to have missed the point I was making the fact that I am atheist. I don't believe in your book. Therefor, I wont go to hell, nor will I be condemned by a "holy spirit" for my sins.
Jim,I agree,Sgt's comment was vulgar. But otherwise it was good.Your response is vulgar in its own way,far worse than Sgt.You threaten him with no credible supporting evidence. There is no evidence for the existence of a 'holy spirit',no evidence that the Bible is any good to support religion. You make your response because your mind is poisoned.
No problem. I don't generally feel the need to speak about atheism, but when I see/hear people speak about their religious beliefs so vigorously, I tend to feel like I need to step in and try my best. And true, my comment may have been somewhat vulgar, but in a counter argument to the bible, it wasn't written with a 100% G rating. So I find it a little hypocritical that I am being called out on that by a follower of the bible.
Sgt, you are absolutely right about the Bible, which contains thousands of words that in their totality are unspeakably vulgar--nothing that by any stretch of the imagination should be called the 'Word of God'. And the phrase 'Holy Bible' is utterly at odds with reality.
Sgt Pilip: There is a difference between just being vulgar in general, and blashemy against the Holy Spirit. I was warning you of this danger because I hope you don't commit this error. If any of us does this we can not be forgiven in the world or the next. We can get away with alot of carelessness, but not Blaspheming the Holy Spirit. This is a very serious matter. I care about you man.
Before I say this, Edward I am sorry. I doubt you intended for your videos to have vulgar and crude comments. But in the case of Jim and GodSaves, I feel I must say this to get the point across that I truly don't care, as I have absolutely no fear of what I say.
Again, sorry for being rude, but this is the best way to get it across.
If you all dont get the point that I fear not your words, and some scripture written down by a poor, insignificant peasant over 2000 years ago, you are truly to blunt minded to realize that there are people who DON'T CARE.
Once again, my apologies to Edward. This was not fare to him.
Edward, you say that for those which dispute you, they should bring documented material, but you conveniently rule out the Word of God as a valid material. Well; I bring the Word of God as being a source of information and truth, not as a religious bag of tricks. God does not want you dead, Satan does. But there is that pesky bible stuff again. Jesus came that you could have life and have it more abundantly, but the devil came to kill steal and destroy. Your disputing the believers helps Satan.
God is not JUST a supernatural being. There are many supernatural beings, ie: the Angels that God created are supernatural beings. Almighty God authored the bible by directly inspiring humans through his Holy Spirit. But then, you don't accept the Holy Word of God as evidence, so these questions that you pose are ignorant of truth. If you intimately knew God through his Word and Spirit (which you could- anyone can) that would be the proof you need to know that God authored the Holy Bible.
Edward....I'm not preaching to you. I am just bringing pure information to you. But atheists can not abide with the pure truth of God's Word, such as in Romans 1, which states that God is clearly seen by his creation. But you will not accept proof. Look around you at this magnificent heavens and earth and God is evident. Only a fool says there is no God.
-So just relax and stop resisting the Holy Spirit of God, and just say: God if you exist show yourself to me. He will help you to understand.
Jim, 'only a fool says there is no God'? In 1998, of the American scientists elected to the National Academy of Sciences, 93% did not believe in a personal God. 'Heavens and earth' do not constitute evidence for a God. Scientists continue to make progress in understanding the universe and its origins. Your imaginary God will not show himself to me. Your imaginary God remains always hidden, which is exactly the way a non-existent being is: a non-existent being always remains hidden.
GOD said "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." -Just because scientists might proclaim there is no God, this does not justify unbelief. In fact, this situation is exposed in the Bible, in, (1 Corinthians 1) which reveals that, men do reject God via the wisdom of men, and this is why God chose the foolish things of this world (The preaching of the cross) to put to shame the "so-called" wise of this world. If any scientist (or anyone) proclaims there is no God, He/she is a fool.
But just because the bible is around, written by a lonely sap in his barn who wanted to pass time for all we know, it doesn't prove the fact that there IS a God. Most people talk to atheist about how they cant prove there ISN"T a God, but never take the time to explain how there IS one. Not to mention, the only "evidence" of Gods existence is the Bible, like I said, who knows who wrote that? People claim reliable people did, but whos to say they were not bored and felt like making a religion?
All things are possible with God. Even your turn around to faith in Jesus Christ, Edward. Look at the Apostle Paul, being one that actually consented to the killing of Christians, but was saved by the very Lord he persecuted. The same is available to you Edward. If you go the way you are -even until death, You will be eternally separated from all love and hope. Please don't do that to yourself, Edward. Especially since you are still living and breathing, and still have a chance to turn to Jesus.
Jim, your imagined God has given no evidence that he even exists. He remains always hidden, which is exactly the situation of a non-existent being. Biblically, as creator and overseer of hell, this fictional being is a horribly evil and unjust monster, unworthy of anyone's love. And your Biblical Jesus supports this fictional evil monster. There is no evidence of life after death. After death I will be exactly as I was before I existed, non-existent, with no inconvenience whatsoever.
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manisfest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal Godhead; so that they are without excuse." ROMANS 1:18-20 (You are made by God and have the understanding of who God is)
Edward, I can understand how an unbeliever chooses certain scriptures to make a point, but leaves out others. But, the scripture commands us to "Study and rightly divided the whole Word of truth." (not cherry pick) In God's judgment, all sin deserves death.(This is not insanity) (Mankind rebelled against God's loving warning in the garden of Eden) That's why he sent his only begotten son Jesus (God's great gift of love) to be the solution to our death sentence. Turn to his forgiveness Edward.
JimR, the Bible is worthless as a source of religious belief; watch my video Bible--Word of God. Your statement 'Mankind rebelled in Eden' is false in more ways than one: there is no evidence whatsoever that the Biblical Eden event actually occurred, and even if it did, it was not a rebellious act of 'mankind'; I, as one example among billions, had absolutely nothing to do with it. And it is not your place to admonish me to turn to anybody for forgiveness.
Good & to the point vid. These religious cowards deny their God's laws & put man's laws above it. They fear death, jail & ridicule, expecting God will forgive them for their kind thoughts & doing the best they could. God's no different than any other ruler by only wanting his followers, not believers, around him. Genesis 3:15-end is all you need to know about God. He creates the first truly evil acts & is the only one to surpass those acts, repeatedly. Satan never even comes close to Genesis 3.
I will pray for you. You read the words yet don't study the history and try to truly understand the meaning. You may not change your ways but God still loves you and thus shall I. When you pass and are given judgement, you shall see the one true God since it's people like you that need proof when it's too late. Those that believe and search for Him feel his presense when we do so. And I must say, The Holy Spirit is the most beautiful feeling one can experince. I hope one day you too feel this.
Yes, Laura, I am the one that does the thinking. Thank you for this comment and other comments of yours at other videos of mine. And thank you also for being one of us thinkers.
Edward keep reading the bible buddy maybe you will see that you don't have a clear understanding of the law and how the law was fulfilled by the blood of Jesus . You are confused . I will pray for MY GOD to open your eyes, give you understanding like he did me and then become YOUR GOD.
Budo, is your God the God of the Bible? If so, thousands of words in the Bible give overwhelming evidence that your imagined God is a mass-murdering, mass-torturing, slavery-endorsing, sexist, petty, vindictive, bullying evil monster. i want no part of your imagined God. Watch my videos Bible--Word of God, and Dilemma.
Ghost, it is the same imagined God in both Testaments. In fact the imagined God of the NT is worse, since he is the creator and overseer of hell, a place of eternal torture, making him infinitely cruel, unjust, and evil.
I have seen in some of your earlier videos that you are so open on your atheism. However, your videos contradict your beliefs. Example, in your video in response to the Haiti earthquake, you said that it was Yahweh who was the cause of it. Thus contradicting your beliefs. My suggestion for you is to stop taking scripture out of context and defend your non-beliefs with logical, philosophical evidence rather than picking out pieces from the bible that you dont like and bashing on it
GI3n, in my Haiti quake video I do not say that Yahweh was the cause of it. I say, "I do not believe in any god. But in order to communicate with believers, I will refer to 'your God.'"
Gl3n, I said that if 'your God' is creator of all things, then 'your God' created (caused) the quake. Throughout my videos, my references to 'your God', or 'the Biblical God', or 'the God of the Bible', do not imply that I believe in any god. Any non-believer has to speak that way in order to communicate with believers. If you are able to understand that, good. If not, then you have a serious problem in grasping basic logic.

Cootabux 1 year ago
@Cootabux What you call insane and barbaric is subjective. If there is no God or higher power to put a moral law into place it doesn't exist- it is but a human construct. I find it self defeating for an atheist to make a moral claim in this way. The fact that you acknowledge this perplexes me then why you would even make the statement. It is only a way for you to set up an emotional argument, not a logical one. If you disagree with the morality of the Bible and of the Biblical God...

Then again, u misunderstand "an atheist's point!"
The Laws of god & his psychopathic mentality, go hand in hand! There is no objective morality!!! It's all subjective. This is why I press the issue of god's killing & barbarity.
I do hope u get it now

@Cootabux enforced. I take it you are not a Jew. Before you going condemning the text, figure out what the people who actually believe and follow the text have to say about it. What does Judaism teach concerning these things? What does Christianity teach? I would not kill these people. Especially, since I am not under such a law but because Christianity teaches mercy and forgiveness. Say what you want about the Scripture-it isn't your scripture to interpret. What does the religion say about it?

I think again, u r missing my point. I'm not discussing the intricate relationship between the Jews and their laws, but the orders of their god, the teachings of that god. And the law is a small part of it, but an important part. Mainly the slavery, the misogyny, and laws like killing for picking up sticks on the Sabbath, forcing a rape victim to marry her rapist...a god created these laws?? No!
Cootabux 1 year ago
@Cootabux Now another thing your missing is you have seen the laws, but you do not know how those laws were put into practice. Much of Judaism is comprised of oral traditions (many of which are now written down). Its wrong for you to make a judgment on a law /scripture without doing the exegesis. How many people do you know were actually killed for breaking the law. Are you sure it was not a potential consequence? You can be fined for doing 5 over the speed limit, but how often does it get..

Cootabux 1 year ago

Samura1gamer 1 year ago 5
@Samura1gamer Yeah! It boggles the mind. They know deep down it is repulsive, but are so afraid of their own mortality that they cherry pick and try to justify it to hold onto the lie that they will not die after death in a nut shell. That, or they crave power like our "friends" in the Vatican.
proofOFLife 1 year ago

Do you suppose out of his love for god he would stone himself
sambricky 1 year ago
Aaahh.. but he didnt actually mean it. or something..
And there is a passage in Mark I think where Jesus specifically states these laws still apply.
Didnt Jesus also say something in the lines of "bring all those who do not wish to serve me here and slay them before me".

Has your God changed his mind?
edwardtarte 1 year ago 14
@edwardtarte
Mr. Tarte.
My God does not change His mind.
You are taking the Bible out of context.
It's best if you don't jump to YOUR own conclusion.
And yes. It's alway's the same God.
ppwstevie95 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95
Cootabux 1 year ago
@Cootabux

@ppwstevie95 Oh, so you cherry pick scripture from the OT, that won't work in the least! If you claim that some scripture of the OT is still valid you cannot get away with saying some isn't!! It's either all valid or none!

@99minerkc
That's not what I am saying.
Jesus died for our sins.
Therefore lying killing etc is forgiven if you repent.
It's not literal when he says do all those things.
All he wants is for you to repent.
ppwstevie95 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95 but you see, I don't lie, kill, steal, swear, have affairs, etc so I don't need forgiveness! If I do were to say have an affair(which I won't but for sake of argument), I would ask my wife for forgiveness as she's the one I would have sinned against!

If you did have an affair, yes you should ask your wife for forgiveness, but God too!
He made it a law, He is our maker and creator, why would you want to sin against Him?
ppwstevie95 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95 I don't sin! I have NEVER had an affair, and I'm more moral than you! I don't need forgiveness for anything! I do need an apology from religious people for lying to me, but they don't apologize to nonbelievers as they "think" they're better than them! In reality they're nothing more than scared, diluted, ignorant sheep!
99minerkc 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95, you have no business accusing 99minerkc of sin. And i cannot overemphasize what I say because of your telling him that he sins every day. Religion has truly poisoned your thoughts.

@ppwstevie95You are commanded by your invisible daddy to kill me. The list goes on... You are deluded. You have been poisoned by an ideology dreamt up by primitive man in a far away land 1000's of years ago. You preach intolerance and should be ashamed. Think!
proofOFLife 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95 That's just sick. If I hurt someone, the responsibility is mine. The very idea that someone could be brutally killed and thus somehow take that away from me is an insane, disgusting excuse for lack of moral thinking. Even more so since we're talking about a god who made all the rules, screwed up his own creation, then sacrifices himself to himself in order to save us from punishment for his blunderings. On second thought - it's not disgusting. It's actually quite funny.
Scurmicurv 1 year ago
Scarletpooky 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95 Surely though you don't even need to find quotes from new testament. The simple fact that the OT is part of the bible is itself proof that what is written there is to be believed and followed.
If not, then why is it part of the bible?
The god of the OT is the same god as the NT, if he is god then everything he said is to be followed. right?
Ask yourself: do you believe ALL the rules in the OT are true and should be followed? if not then why follow a religion that says OT is true.
Scarletpooky 1 year ago
@ppwstevie95 "That's all old testament." So that wasn't your god? and when Jesus says that the old laws still apply, you just ignored that part of the New Testament? Try actually reading a Bible for once.

@ppwstevie95 Yeah, the original version 1.0 god was killed off by the new and improved god version 2.0, but watch out, because version 3.0 (Allah.) is coming to take his place. ( He is currently still in beta, but the Muslims are hoping for final release soon. ) Ha ha ha..

The only one who is wrong here is you!

Edward: I have a question for you. Why do you feel compelled to make a video calling the belief in part of scripture insane?
Also how would you deal with Acts 15:29?
kcirgjd 2 years ago
Kcir, the reasons I make these videos are that I value truth, and I am convinced that as religious faith recedes and rational thought advances, our species will evolve in better directions. I deal with Acts 15:29 by ignoring it. Watch my video Bible--Word of God.
edwardtarte 2 years ago 11
@edwardtarte Yes, much easier to ignore parts and pick out other parts to pick apart without looking at the whole truth. We are all sinners, whether you believe that or not. In the old testament living by the law is what saved people. But we are no longer saved by the law, but by grace through faith. Jesus dies and paid the penalty once and for all. The world is only around 7000 years old, and we have not evolved, but adapted. You were created, everything has design, and a designer.
mtpwrstroke 1 year ago
@mtpwrstroke Seriously tart, look at everything. Our sun and how our earth orbits it in just the perfect way to support life on this earth. Look at the human body, the incredible design. The possibility of all these things happening by chance is non existent. You try so hard to disprove the God who created and loves you. If you really want to be subjective, read the whole bible through and through. And pray for God to reveal himself to you. If its all a lie, what do you have to lose......

Do u really think we've never prayed for god to reveal himself or at least some evidence? We've done these things countless times thru our Xian period. He doesn't exist, just as prayers are not answered. Ever seen a Downs Syndrome child healed? Never!

Satan uses "rationalism" to deceive many
rockethead555 2 months ago
I'm not trying to prove anything to you. I'm sharing my views on the subject.
Evidence for God depends on what evidence one is willing to accept..
and in spite of what "logical " people claim.. they do not really come to beliefs based merely on evidence at all. They come to beliefs based on experience. Because experience is what determines how we deal with evidence.
ashenvale1 2 years ago
..as such.. it is we who choose to be damned. God does not will that even be damned.
As long as we Judge God, than we are proclaiming ourself to be God.. and in so doing are consuming our own finite selves.
God allows us to Judge Him, and thus He allows us to Damn ourselves. IT is the Cost of being created in the Image of God ( Christ).. that being gods ( small g)..we can either become forever greater and larger or become forever smaller and less.
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Ash, I am not proclaiming myself to be God. I am not choosing to be damned. You have a God in whom you believe. The burden of proof is upon you to give solid evidence to support your belief in your God. You make statement after statement without a shred of supporting evidence. You are making huge claims, and you need huge evidence to support them. I find no credible evidence for any of your claims.

The reason for the Hebrew extermination of the Canaanites, is critical in understanding the roots of Judaism and how they tried to hide their early years of Polytheistic beliefs. In other words, the early Hebrews were absolutely no different than the Canaanite Pantheon. Their Elohims were plural, their gods were the same. They tried to hide this with their extermination of Canaan.

..It is also like this.
There are two kinds of people.
In doing this, they are manifesting their own destruction.. because creations are finite and only God is infinite.
ashenvale1 2 years ago
You, and I both have a nature that seeks to Judge God. That is the sin nature. as such, your position is the common human position on the Biblical God.
Because we play God, by thinking we know what Good is. that is what happened when we partake of the "knowledge of Good and Evil".
Judgment from God only exists because of our Judgment HIm.
Animals do not Judge God, hence they cannot be damned.

Jonah 2-2
Jonah 2-2 Out of the belly of Sheol I cried, And You heard my voice. 3 For You cast me into the deep, Into the heart of the seas, And the floods surrounded me; All Your billows and Your waves passed over me.
( Here, we see Hell ) Sheol, being described by Jonah before he is even dead, King David also does this.. why?.. because Hell involves the kingdom of death.. which is temporary.. no eternal ).
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Ashen, you are wasting your time to quote the Bible to me. The Bible is of no value as a basis for religious beliefs. Watch my video Bible--Word of God.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
II agree.
That is silly.
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Ashen, I quote the Bible in order to explain how the God of the Bible is described. This does not imply that I accept the Bible as being an accurate reflection of reality, nor that I believe in the Biblical God or any god. That is perfectly logical, not silly.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
OF course that is not silly. What is silly is making it an issue if I quote the Bible to try and correct your claimof what the Bible says.
Whether or not you believe in it, there are certain things it says, and certain things it does not say. Some of these ideas are quite open to interpretation.. some are quite concrete and specific// liek the subject of Sheol ( Hades, Hell).
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Check it out Edward-
Revelation 20-14
Then death and Hades ( Hell) were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. ( Here, we see that there is an end to death and hades.. hell is not eternal).
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Hell is not eternal. That would be the lake of fire. And it is not eternal in the sense of endless time.. but rather of Finality.
As something dies than can Never live again.. such is the Eternity of that Judgement.
Hell, Sheol, Hades... are all a temporary place... that according to scripture gets thrown into the Lake of Fire, which woul be eternal Finality , the enternal unCreating.
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Ashen, your comment is related to my Hell video rather than to this video. And nothing that you say has any evidence to support it. Everything that you say is imaginary, mythological, delusion.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
I find your low view of imagination and myth to be disturbing.
To quote Einstein- " imagination is more important than knowledge".
And, I hope you are not displeased by anything that can be called a "myth". For "Myth" is a term only in modern times understood to purport to only fictional or "imaginary" accounts and stories.
ashenvale1 2 years ago
Ashenvale1,
Einstein drew attention to the essential importance of artistic expression in our human culture.

@Mazdamus
GnomesAmok 2 years ago
@GnomesAmok the need for split testaments is the fact God favors the jews. the new testament make Jesus the savior of the gentiles he's our midiator God is still as jealous and vengful as he's portraid in the bible that if you'd read tells how he's gonna destroy by fire. but jesus came down as our spokesperson to give everyone salvation.

Jim, I follow my conscience. I follow it in making these videos, and I have consistently followed my conscience throughout my entire life. Maybe you do not realize that, Realizing that, do you still say that I am headed to damnation? Does your God damn people who sincerely and honestly follow their consciences?
edwardtarte 2 years ago
Edward, God has warned us that our consciences can be seared away as if they had been burned with a hot iron (when we reject the Truth of God). And since you have "rejected" the Lord, you obviously do not have a conscience grounded in his truths. Therefore, your life's sincere intentions are not the deciding factor. We are all equal in God's eyes. From the lofty to the low-> if we disbelieve God we condemn ourselves. Condemnation is our own doing. (Read: John 3:14-20; Particularly: verse 18).
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
I have a question on this whole "god sees us equal and loves us all" thing that I hear whenever religious talk comes up... If god were to be real, and love us all and such, why would he condemn us? The bible says we are all gods children correct? How many loving parents would not only wish for their childrens eternal damnation, but be the ones to commit them to this? If I stopped loving my own parents, I don't think they would ever wish for me to be eternally tortured. I doubt any parents would
SgtPilip 2 years ago
SgtPilip: unfortunately you don't understand that you have committed blaspemy against the Holy Spirit. What part of that did you not understand? I am not God, but I showed you where Jesus himself said,"If any man speak blashemies against the Holy Ghost he cannot be forgiven." I am truly sorry you are in this predicament, but You had your free will choice to NOT say what you said against the Holy Spirit, but you made that fatal error on your own. You have no one to blame but yourself.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
You didn't answer me. I did not ask what I did "wrong". I asked why someone who loves there children would condemn them to eternal damnation. Why? I would never wish for someone to suffer that came from my own image/soul/body. It is inconceivable. If you had a child, would you really want them to suffer for eternity? Would you be the one to "pull the trigger"? If you would, then I don't see how "God" could love you. I don't see it as possible. And that is just ONE reason I can not devote myself.
SgtPilip 2 years ago
SgtPilip: I am truly sorry about your situation. I could try to answer your questions, but I believe God wills for me to leave you alone. Sgt, thank you so much for raising the questions about hell. Hell as eternal torture is surely the most cruel and evil of all religious doctrines. In worshiping an imagined god who created and oversees hell and who provides no evidence of his existence, and a Biblical Jesus who supports that god and his hell, and in threatening you by quoting a thoroughly unreliable source (the Bible), JimR is unspeakably depraved.
edwardtarte 2 years ago

PRAISE GOD.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
I know you will probably reject this reasoning , however I will give it a try. Man was perfect and lived in the full presence of God in the garden of eden until they were corrupted by satan and thus the sin nature of man.
As for the crusaders, just because someone claims to do one thing in Gods name doesn't mean it was neccessarily inspired by God. I can't look at those men's hearts and judge there motives. But the only sin that can not be forgiven is rejecting jesus.
Look at prophecy of Tyre.
GodSavesisthetruth 2 years ago
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is essentially rejecting God's witness of his only begotten Son Jesus. Yet; Cursing the Holy Spirit or mocking the Holy Spirit, can be, and is blasphemy. I always warn others to avoid this, even the enemies of Christ, because Christ died to save all of us, and we all need the length of our God given space to stand a chance to repent and turn from wickedness. If we commit blashemy against the Holy Spirit we are done for and will not have any more time.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
Here's the way I see things. Heaven is the full presence of God and hell is the full absence of God. Does god make hell bad or is hell anything but good because it does not contain any shred of God.
Evil can only come out of good, but good can not come from evil. If there is evil, then there must, by default, be a good. If there is evil in this world, where did that evil come from, it must have come from good that has been corrupted.
I encourage you once again to look up the prophecy of tyre.
GodSavesisthetruth 2 years ago
"Only a Sith deals in absolutes" is about all I can say for your argument. What I am getting from that, is that all people are good until corrupted? Ok, well what corrupts us? I can certainly say one thing for sure, the people who have killed hundreds of thousands of people in the name of God were not GOOD people. Killing = evil. Thats how I see it. So people who killed in the crusades, FOR GOD, are "evil". They had to be corrupted from your argument, what other than "God" could have done that?
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Hey im back to try another swing at this, but do I think it is ok to stone rebellious teens? No of course not. I was pointing out that those laws applied to a different time period and that those laws clearly don't apply today. Jesus came to demolish the law and set himself as the one and only true pathway to God.
Take a look at the prophecy of Tyre in Ezekiel. The prophecy still holds true to this day even though it was accurately foretold hundreds of years ago. It is very convincing.
Peace
GodSavesisthetruth 2 years ago
GodSaves, no context ever existed nor could exist in which it would be OK to stone rebellious teens. And your Biblical God was the same God in the OT as in the NT. He was horribly evil in the OT.

LOL
spdfrk101 2 years ago
Spd, if you really favor stoning rebellious teens to death--even once--then you are a horribly evil person. And if you think I should be killed for tutoring math students on the Sabbath, I would not object if someone would spit in your face for that.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
Edward: Jesus made it clear that if a man's donkey fell into a pit on the sabbath that it would not be a sin to lift a hand to help that donkey out of that pit. You do not sin by tutoring on the sabbath as far as I can see. You are saving the minds of young people, and it must be performed when it must be performed, even if on the sabbath. Ed, you tend to see only the old testament first laws, but you miss the liberty in Christ to do good works, free from dogmatic legalism.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
I really must agree Edward on this, without question. If you wish to stone people to death, that is unbelievably evil and wrong. Not to mention, isn't one of the commandments "Thou shall not kill"? Yet, you say you want to not only kill rebellious teens, but in a slow, painful way? This seems so unbelievably contradictory. I really cannot describe how dumb that is. On that note, with that commandment, how do you justify things like the crusades and other religiously motivated acts of slaughter?
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Spd, how do you know that your God will not give higher favor to honest sincere skepticism and reliance on evidence and will not look with disfavor on reliance on faith in the absence of credible evidence? This would not be a win-win situation for you.

For those who tell me I am "evil" or anything, and that I cannot find enlightenment on my own, I respond with, "I have found enlightenment, within my friends, family and community. too bad since the bible is a spiritual book its talking about spiritual death.

GodSavesisthetruth 2 years ago

By the way
"So just relax and stop resisting the Holy Spirit of God" makes it sound like this Holy Spitit fella is trying to get into Edward's rear.
God?
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Sgt, I am absolutely certain that Jim is not suggesting that the Holy Spirit is trying to get into my rear.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
SgtPilip...I rarely address the comments of vulgar people, but I have to warn you of what the Bible describes as the eternal sin, which is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. This eternal sin can be committed while we are still in this world, and will NOT be forgiven anyone. Your comments toward the Holy Spirit are dangerously close, or could have already gone over the edge. If you have in fact not yet committed blasphemy against the holy spirit, I would be very serious about ammending your ways.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
You seem to have missed the point I was making the fact that I am atheist. I don't believe in your book. Therefor, I wont go to hell, nor will I be condemned by a "holy spirit" for my sins.
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Jim,I agree,Sgt's comment was vulgar. But otherwise it was good.Your response is vulgar in its own way,far worse than Sgt.You threaten him with no credible supporting evidence. There is no evidence for the existence of a 'holy spirit',no evidence that the Bible is any good to support religion. You make your response because your mind is poisoned.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
Edward you tell Jim whos boss. Hah
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Sgt, on balance I thank you for your support. I am glad you are like me an atheist.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Sgt, you are absolutely right about the Bible, which contains thousands of words that in their totality are unspeakably vulgar--nothing that by any stretch of the imagination should be called the 'Word of God'. And the phrase 'Holy Bible' is utterly at odds with reality.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
Sgt Pilip: There is a difference between just being vulgar in general, and blashemy against the Holy Spirit. I was warning you of this danger because I hope you don't commit this error. If any of us does this we can not be forgiven in the world or the next. We can get away with alot of carelessness, but not Blaspheming the Holy Spirit. This is a very serious matter. I care about you man.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
Before I say this, Edward I am sorry. I doubt you intended for your videos to have vulgar and crude comments. But in the case of Jim and GodSaves, I feel I must say this to get the point across that I truly don't care, as I have absolutely no fear of what I say.
Again, sorry for being rude, but this is the best way to get it across.
Fuck "The Holy Spirit"
Fuck "Jesus"
Fuck "God"
Fuck "Mother Mary"
And most of all, fuck the church.
SgtPilip 2 years ago
If you all dont get the point that I fear not your words, and some scripture written down by a poor, insignificant peasant over 2000 years ago, you are truly to blunt minded to realize that there are people who DON'T CARE.
Once again, my apologies to Edward. This was not fare to him.
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Edward, you say that for those which dispute you, they should bring documented material, but you conveniently rule out the Word of God as a valid material. Well; I bring the Word of God as being a source of information and truth, not as a religious bag of tricks. God does not want you dead, Satan does. But there is that pesky bible stuff again. Jesus came that you could have life and have it more abundantly, but the devil came to kill steal and destroy. Your disputing the believers helps Satan.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
Jim, what evidence do you have that the Bible was authored by a supernatural being?
edwardtarte 2 years ago
God is not JUST a supernatural being. There are many supernatural beings, ie: the Angels that God created are supernatural beings. Almighty God authored the bible by directly inspiring humans through his Holy Spirit. But then, you don't accept the Holy Word of God as evidence, so these questions that you pose are ignorant of truth. If you intimately knew God through his Word and Spirit (which you could- anyone can) that would be the proof you need to know that God authored the Holy Bible.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
Edward....I'm not preaching to you. I am just bringing pure information to you. But atheists can not abide with the pure truth of God's Word, such as in Romans 1, which states that God is clearly seen by his creation. But you will not accept proof. Look around you at this magnificent heavens and earth and God is evident. Only a fool says there is no God.
-So just relax and stop resisting the Holy Spirit of God, and just say: God if you exist show yourself to me. He will help you to understand.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
Jim, 'only a fool says there is no God'? In 1998, of the American scientists elected to the National Academy of Sciences, 93% did not believe in a personal God. 'Heavens and earth' do not constitute evidence for a God. Scientists continue to make progress in understanding the universe and its origins. Your imaginary God will not show himself to me. Your imaginary God remains always hidden, which is exactly the way a non-existent being is: a non-existent being always remains hidden.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
GOD said "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God." -Just because scientists might proclaim there is no God, this does not justify unbelief. In fact, this situation is exposed in the Bible, in, (1 Corinthians 1) which reveals that, men do reject God via the wisdom of men, and this is why God chose the foolish things of this world (The preaching of the cross) to put to shame the "so-called" wise of this world. If any scientist (or anyone) proclaims there is no God, He/she is a fool.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
But just because the bible is around, written by a lonely sap in his barn who wanted to pass time for all we know, it doesn't prove the fact that there IS a God. Most people talk to atheist about how they cant prove there ISN"T a God, but never take the time to explain how there IS one. Not to mention, the only "evidence" of Gods existence is the Bible, like I said, who knows who wrote that? People claim reliable people did, but whos to say they were not bored and felt like making a religion?
SgtPilip 2 years ago
Jim, Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, and Carl Sagan lacked belief in a personal God.

Edward, I'd love to debate this topic with you publicly. Care to have go?
raygarrettjr 2 years ago
All things are possible with God. Even your turn around to faith in Jesus Christ, Edward. Look at the Apostle Paul, being one that actually consented to the killing of Christians, but was saved by the very Lord he persecuted. The same is available to you Edward. If you go the way you are -even until death, You will be eternally separated from all love and hope. Please don't do that to yourself, Edward. Especially since you are still living and breathing, and still have a chance to turn to Jesus.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal Godhead; so that they are without excuse." ROMANS 1:18-20 (You are made by God and have the understanding of who God is)
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
Jim, please stop preaching to me--quoting the Bible to me.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
Edward, I can understand how an unbeliever chooses certain scriptures to make a point, but leaves out others. But, the scripture commands us to "Study and rightly divided the whole Word of truth." (not cherry pick) In God's judgment, all sin deserves death.(This is not insanity) (Mankind rebelled against God's loving warning in the garden of Eden) That's why he sent his only begotten son Jesus (God's great gift of love) to be the solution to our death sentence. Turn to his forgiveness Edward.
JimReynolds5280 2 years ago
JimR, the Bible is worthless as a source of religious belief; watch my video Bible--Word of God. Your statement 'Mankind rebelled in Eden' is false in more ways than one: there is no evidence whatsoever that the Biblical Eden event actually occurred, and even if it did, it was not a rebellious act of 'mankind'; I, as one example among billions, had absolutely nothing to do with it. And it is not your place to admonish me to turn to anybody for forgiveness.
edwardtarte 2 years ago

If you pray for Edward, can Edward think for you?

Yes, Laura, I am the one that does the thinking. Thank you for this comment and other comments of yours at other videos of mine. And thank you also for being one of us thinkers.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
Edward keep reading the bible buddy maybe you will see that you don't have a clear understanding of the law and how the law was fulfilled by the blood of Jesus . You are confused . I will pray for MY GOD to open your eyes, give you understanding like he did me and then become YOUR GOD.
budokai100mph 2 years ago
Budo, is your God the God of the Bible? If so, thousands of words in the Bible give overwhelming evidence that your imagined God is a mass-murdering, mass-torturing, slavery-endorsing, sexist, petty, vindictive, bullying evil monster. i want no part of your imagined God. Watch my videos Bible--Word of God, and Dilemma.
edwardtarte 2 years ago
look at the new testament ok?
ghosthunter5656 2 years ago
Ghost, it is the same imagined God in both Testaments. In fact the imagined God of the NT is worse, since he is the creator and overseer of hell, a place of eternal torture, making him infinitely cruel, unjust, and evil.

I have seen in some of your earlier videos that you are so open on your atheism. However, your videos contradict your beliefs. Example, in your video in response to the Haiti earthquake, you said that it was Yahweh who was the cause of it. Thus contradicting your beliefs. My suggestion for you is to stop taking scripture out of context and defend your non-beliefs with logical, philosophical evidence rather than picking out pieces from the bible that you dont like and bashing on it
Gl3nQuagmire 2 years ago
GI3n, in my Haiti quake video I do not say that Yahweh was the cause of it. I say, "I do not believe in any god. But in order to communicate with believers, I will refer to 'your God.'"
edwardtarte 2 years ago
edward, however, you did put the blame on God. you said that God was the reason the earthquake happened
Gl3nQuagmire 2 years ago
Gl3n, I said that if 'your God' is creator of all things, then 'your God' created (caused) the quake. Throughout my videos, my references to 'your God', or 'the Biblical God', or 'the God of the Bible', do not imply that I believe in any god. Any non-believer has to speak that way in order to communicate with believers. If you are able to understand that, good. If not, then you have a serious problem in grasping basic logic.
