  • Your jobs are killing this planet...find another way of life...

  • Ok do you still love your jobs after 35 people died because of safety Violations. I am not in the "Uneducated" category. I am a well educated individual who just happened to spend most of my childhood in the areas you are destroying. How about the hundreds of people who have died or been injured at Massey's hands. How about you think about that.

  • goddamn hippies this is how we make our livin on strip mines and underground mines stfu and go back where you came from

  • I SUPPORT THE MINERS !!!!!

  • I wonder how many of the protesters have jobs? They should go work instead of complaining about people that do...

  • Its called a counter protest sorry that is what this is called. As Americans we have the right to do this. The miners are childish how about the so called treehuggers. This should not have happened as an American citizen. TO me this is kinda a childish video that you made. Burn trees down as far as I am concerned. Don't say I am a coal miner I am just more informed then most. I believe that you are not informed as what you say. Anyway right a reply and be childish I truly don't care.

  • Best part is at the end when he calls whom ever a dumbass then almost rear ends that car infront of him... :)

  • I wonder if they are cheering for Massey today.

  • fuck that these people make a living just as the rest of us

my girl casey will take you on shes in the black vehicle at

8:25 callin people out we got born in beckley and proud of it baby

and please call me stupid cuz im from w.v.

junior at john marshall baby 3.75 gpa

    please tell me im stupid

  • WOW. I am ashamed that my God looks down on such a blatant display of human ignorance. Does the word stewardship mean anything to any of these people? Oh, my bad, that IS a "big" word. If these folks are willing to act this way and threaten the lives of people who are trying to HELP them, then they should be allowed to wallow in their own waste. Just be certain to pass whatever law is necessary to make sure that this kind of stupid stays in WV!

  • You dirty hippies are fucking with the wrong individual's! The history of that region is not on your sides.

  • I love how all they could do it throw out insults and tell us to "go home". Well, for their information, I AM home. I refuse to stand by while coal companies blow away our state's beauty and heritage. I have lived in West Virginia my entire life and it saddens me that there aren't more of us banding together to create a better future for Appalachians.

  • Uneducated people can cause the greatest amount of chaos. Let the miners do their jobs, the way they have for generations. Seriously...if I thought I was doing anything "wrong", I wouldn't be doing it, but coal mining is good for our state, and our country. We need these jobs. And don't give me the "ruining the land", and "poisoning the water" arguments. I can prove them wrong over and over...with facts...not the environmentalists lies.

  • Jeff, I completely agree. As you can see, most of the comments for this video are of the strictly 'uneducated' category. We do, and will continue to need miners as long as there are products to make and people to feed and house.

I can't wait to be convinced that, as you say, all environmentalists are totally liars. I mean, they were totally wrong about DDT, thalidomide, and the dangers of nuclear weapons. I really look forward to your 'proven' arguments- I'm on the edge of my seat here.

  • Well, let's start with their usual first argument of "ruining the land". Most of the areas mines turn out more usefull than what they were before mining...used for farming, airports, beautiful golf-courses, recreational areas, and more. You see, the environmentalists try to act like mining causes a "wasteland", which by the videos they show you (of active, working mines), looks accurate...but look up mine reclaimation, and see the end result. Water issue in my next comment.

  • Ok, the envronmentalists again, show you the "black water" which is on mine property. What they don't show you is the actual streams in the hollows beneath the mine. I can show you many, many, many perfectly clear streams immediately at the bottom of the mountains that are being mined. Water from the mines go through a series of sedement ponds to filter it, and through ditches lined with rock to clean it from one point to another. Actually I have never seen this "poison water" below any mine.

  • philbusa and f***yamountains keep popping up spewing lies and half truths supporting Mountain Top Removal. It is obvious that they are deep in the pockets of Massey and don't give a damn about our mountains, our future or our health.

  • @eastwood203 Your such a stupid motherfucker!!!!

  • You're not Your. Who's stupid? I won't use the expletives you use because of a lack a vocabulary.

  • I'm sorry that I'm not as "educated" as you! So what are your veiws on what should be done about coal? Should we just stop it completely and sit in the dark because people aren't going to be able to afford windmill power??? Windmills power is ALOT higher, and the windmills only work in certain conditions, turn the turbine too slow or too fast and it will not produce power. Solar panels don't make power without good sunlight, so what are we to do? COAL!!!

  • the treehuggers will LOOSE why would you take 2o or so checkdrawers towards hundredsof people that keep your asses in electric, you people need to wake up,we will fight to the end.

  • I hope you fight 'til the end! I don't expect you'd be quitters after chaining yourselves lock, stock and barrel to the galumphing coal industry! Nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight.

Hey, guess what? I tried something today! I turned on my truck (running on biodiesel) and then later read a book under a lamp (electricity coming from a solar-charged battery).

Not trying to rock your world too hard, friend, but try for a change to think outside your comfort zone, eh?

  • Hmmm, your such a high end greenie!!! Let me letcha in a a little secret...

Your biodiesel truck is still made using coal dumbass!!! Coal melts down steel!!!

Why don't you fucks think outside of your comfort zone and start walking everywhere you need to go, if your not a friend of coal, stop supporting coal if your really against it!!!

  • Thank you! It's hard not being a lazy ass sometimes, but I think it's worth it.

I wonder where you shop for groceries, or durable goods. Most of the foods you eat probably don't grow at your strip mine, or in your state. Your wal-mart buys from china. AND if you drive any "American-made" vehicle, that just means it's assembled in the US. Most of the components come from overseas.

Oh, and I'm made from carbon, just like coal. I looove myself, so I definitely can't hate coal.

  • best thing for you to do is go play another game of dungeons and dragons pal. i guarantee you still use electric,or is that computer solar powered too? this is reality, coal works, and will continue to suppley electric for years to come. i could care less your biodiesal or solar lamp. i dont live in fairyland,i live in the real world. maybe you can join it someday.

  • Well, you're right- Coal works, and is about as efficient as what brought it into widespread use- Steam power. When was the last time you drove a steam-powered train? Is your truck coal powered? Your modern mining equipment? The vehicles you drive are petroleum powered. The food you eat is fertilized with nitrogen derived from natural gas. You're not a friend of coal, pal. You're a friend of oil. US energy use: Oil 39% Gas 24% Coal 23% Nuclear 8% Renewable 6% Get an education.
  • Coal and oil/gas are FOSSIL FUELS!!!

    Coal is just solidified oil.

Coal is used in the production of steel, which is just about used in anything in our everyday lives! Cars, bikes, buildings, etc.

So we are all friends of coal whether we want to be or not!

  • Just because the energy I use is coal powered doesn't mean I want it to be. It doesn't mean I'm not going to fight with all I have to power my computer with wind energy instead.

  • Oh, yeah. By the way- will the treehuggers 'Lose' or 'Loose'?

If they 'Loose', will they get loose, hang loose, or what?

  • There have been no protests since the Massey families stood their ground. And did it peacufully.

  • The only thing thats frightening is that the same people that is protesting the mountain top removal turn their lights on everyday! Bunch of hypocrites.

  • sher, WV should have went to hydroelectric a long time ago. Greedy coal lobbying prevents it. Bunch of morons.

  • According to Websters, Ignorance is defined as: 1. The condition of being ignorant; the lack of knowledge in general, or in relation to a particular subject; the state of being uneducated or uninformed, or 2. A willful neglect or refusal to acquire knowledge which one may acquire and it is his duty to have.

We certainly aren't being 'ignorant' of the devastation being wrought on WV or of the future consequences for our children. If you're concerned about your jobs, diversify your economy.

  • I half to disagree with you....Ignorance at its worst????? I think its ignorant to come into the state of WV which is known for its coal and protest these men and womens jobs....And its ingorant to go up on people job sites and climb up on machines you know nothing about putting you and the workers of these machines in danger & trespass on private property knowing your going to keep getting arrested time and time again!!!!!!! The "enviromentalist" to me are truely ignorance at its worst !!!!!

  • the "massey" chanting is truly frightening. so sad people can't put two and two together. ignorance at its worst.
