He is lucky that he will meet Carl Froch next, because all the other fighters are to fast for him. Dirrell outboxed him in 11 rounds. Abraham is to relaxed in the first 5-6 rounds. Against people like Kessler, Ward and Dirrell, he doesnt stand a chance. He cant win this tournament, if he only thinks about KO's.

Mayweather generates allot of hype due to the way in which he is marketed.

i also had Dirrel ahead leading by points. But he did to less and was running away too much. Little bit more aggression from his side and he had win the match. It was not clear enough and Froch had the Champ advantage on his side.
Andre Dirrell gave Carl Froch a helluva boxing lesson. He made Froch frustrated the whole fight night and made Froch make miss fire all his signature punches. He made Froch look like amatuer swinging, lunging, plunging, his punches in frustration. I got Dirrell ahead of a point or two on my scorecards based on the knowledge of boxing as a sport. I agree with the Mexican judge. The 2 European judges I think are either biased or doesn't have enought experience or knowledge in boxing as a sport.
I'm not sure who is going to win this series. We might have a situation where a fighter loses a fight in the prelims but goes on to win the overall tournament.
But scoring shouldn't work like that! At the end of each round you score it as you see it, and come the end of the fight you tot up the numbers! If they don't already do it, judges should be asked to declare their points total at the end of each round.
Froch was very disappointing! He just didn't have the skills to deal with Dirrell. And, there's me worrying about a German hometown decision! And, I'm English!
Direll fought like a sissy. Froch pressed the action. I agree with the decision but Direll could become a good fighter if he gets a little tougher - he only had 18 fights - which didn't serve him here.

Mate I'm a bit split on the decision but at the end of the day I was talking to a mate while the fight was happening and we both agreed that Dirrell was trying to stink up a win.

I agree with you - I think Dirrell landed more shots, but he didn't seem to have much power, and honestly he wasted the first 7 rounds running away from Froch. That's why he lost the fight. He did pick it up in rds 10-12, and maybe he'll learn from that and come back strong. Dirrell has speed and skill, but didn't want to fight for the first half of the fight. Either that or he was just too cautious.
i think he has enough power because froch was hurt in the 10 round. he was wobbled pretty good. watch the last 20 sec of that round and frochs right leg shows he was hurt after the initial exchange and then he retreated to the ropes. i think the fight looked so ugly at times because dirrells lack of expierence to deal with frochs pressure. he doesnt know how to circle out yet and instead he held. imo dirrell won the fight of off clean effective punching.

Dirrell didn't need to initiate the clinch but seemed so concerned about a power shot landing that he was willing to avoid any exchanges and wrestle Froch instead.

Abraham: Dangerous style against fighters who scores many points.
Froch: What he lacks in technique, he has in strenght.
Ward: Only Taylor is as technichal as him.
Dirrel: Fast, but not the strongest of the bunch.

I would have to go with King Arthur as the favourite now although Froch is in with a chance.

There's no corruption. The fact is that with exception to Floyd Mayweather Jr., great American boxers are no more. European boxers are making their mark in the sport. I'm sure American boxers will eventually rule the sport once again, but it's interesting to see other boxers from other countries show what they're made of.

Even Froch's corner told him he needed a knockout before the start of the 12th -- If the 10th round had been a few seconds longer, Froch would have been stopped.
Dirrell did exactly what a BOXER is supposed to do, HIT without being hit back. Froch, the BRAWLER, could never catch up to him and therefore resorted to dirty tactics, This is the SPORT of BOXING, the sweet science, and it is judged on a round-by-round basis. It is not a summary determined at the end of the fight

In the Dirrell Froch fight the judges must have been influenced by the reaction of the crowds. Whenever Froch did anything, a jab, a missed straight, even throwing Dirrell down to the canvas, the crowd went wild. They never gave Dirrell any credit for even the biggest punches of the fight.

Andre Dirrell gave Carl Froch a helluva boxing lesson. He made Froch frustrated the whole fight night and made Froch make miss fire all his signature punches. He made Froch look like amatuer swinging, lunging, plunging, his punches in frustration. I got Dirrell ahead of a point or two on my scorecards based on the knowledge of boxing as a sport. I agree with the Mexican judge. The 2 European judges I think are either biased or doesn't have enought experience or knowledge in boxing as a sport.

As a Brit, I was supporting Froch and thought he could do the business but he was simply outclassed by the better boxer.
Yes, Dirrell ran in the early rounds, but Froch was swinging wildy and landing pretty much nothing.
In the later rounds, Dirrell landed with ease when they actually engaged and showed some serious skills. Dirrell won this fight no doubt in my mind.

But scoring shouldn't work like that! At the end of each round you score it as you see it, and come the end of the fight you tot up the numbers! If they don't already do it, judges should be asked to declare their points total at the end of each round.

Direll fought like a sissy. Froch pressed the action. I agree with the decision but Direll could become a good fighter if he gets a little tougher - he only had 18 fights - which didn't serve him here.

Mate there's no need to descend into gutter talk, Froch was lucky to get the win but on the other hand Dirrell didn't come to fight.
Dirrell was slick sure but only threw punches to open up a window so he could run. I was personally not entertained.
Dirrell initiated the clinches and ducked face down to avoid getting hit which is cheating, he got hit in the clinches which he deserved and hit on the back of the head which he deserved, he got thrown on the floor which he also deserved.

The Matrix was almost an embaressment last night.
As you say the guy consistently tripped, slipped, held (illegal), turned his back & head (illegal) and bitched to the ref like a woman. I felt sorry for Froch. The only good thing about the Matrix was his speed which did legitimately cause Froch problems although this doesn't score points!
You need to really beat the champ to take his belt not try & bluff your way though.
I must say I worry about Kessler but at least there will be a fight!!!

Dirrell was scared of getting hit and ran away the whole fight and grabbed Froch everytime it looked like turning into a fight!.
Is Dirrell the sort of fighter you want to go and watch?, seriously! he was prepared to stink that whole arena out and try and steal a win! come on!.
It was NOT entertaining in the slightest but a champ doesn't run away from a fight and hopefully win on a few stolen punches!.

It might seem corrupt but the home advantage combined with the fact that Dirrell wasn't there to have a fight lost it for him.
I think Dirrell could have won it and it was close but in the end does a guy who runs away and has to be chased at running speed really deserve to be classed as a champion.
Dirrell showed no intention of having a fight and seemed scared of getting hit, he was quick to dive into a clinch and even quicker at running away for 12 rounds.

dirrell showed lack of expeirence in the ugly rounds. i dont think he was scared. can you honestly say Froch won that fight off of clean effective punching? he looked hurt to me in the 10th round. froch pressed the action but he didnt land half as many clean punches as dirrell did. maybe i saw a different fight. where are the punch stat numbers? i seem to be the only one asking that question

Mate I'm a bit split on the decision but at the end of the day I was talking to a mate while the fight was happening and we both agreed that Dirrell was trying to stink up a win.
Dirrell didn't show any signs of a real champion and knew if he got caught he was going down so he ran.
I think Dirrell will be found out, I think he might know he's a little chinny and that's going to come out in the tournament.

I agree with you - I think Dirrell landed more shots, but he didn't seem to have much power, and honestly he wasted the first 7 rounds running away from Froch. That's why he lost the fight. He did pick it up in rds 10-12, and maybe he'll learn from that and come back strong. Dirrell has speed and skill, but didn't want to fight for the first half of the fight. Either that or he was just too cautious.

i think he has enough power because froch was hurt in the 10 round. he was wobbled pretty good. watch the last 20 sec of that round and frochs right leg shows he was hurt after the initial exchange and then he retreated to the ropes. i think the fight looked so ugly at times because dirrells lack of expierence to deal with frochs pressure. he doesnt know how to circle out yet and instead he held. imo dirrell won the fight of off clean effective punching.

MandoGuerrero2, I think if the fight was in the US he would have won but at the end of the day European judges punish running and fight spoiling. Dirrell didn't need to initiate the clinch but seemed so concerned about a power shot landing that he was willing to avoid any exchanges and wrestle Froch instead.
Froch got lucky in some respects but I wasn't impressed with Dirrell at all, sure he was very quick but he ran and tried every trick to avoid fighting and I hate guys that fight like that.

totally correct. Both fighters were that tentative in the begining because neither of them wanted to get hit esp Dirrell. made it really hard to score. When its that close the Defendant is gonna be in favour. Then all the holding and being too elusive actually lost it for Dirrell. Sure he was avoiding punches but didnt bring the fight and wasnt trying to fight for the win or belt, Judges wont see that as an earned win to strip a Defendant of his title.
