  • We have to recognize the reasons of suffering to solve the problem.

    icritics.blogsport.de

  • @valleychick6969: Your choice of vocabulary clearly shows your lack of education. You are definitely on the shortlist for becoming poor. Not a very good kinf of country for you to live in, the US....

  • @hoplite669

" Not a very good kinf of country..."

Your choice of spelling show you made the list of becoming poor

  • daughter?

  • Maybe its time we saw the simple truth, america is a shithole. No offense americans its just an observation.

  • God poor people always blame the government.

  • The reason why that girl is homeless, is because she had a daughter before she could afford it. And she looks like a psycho. I wouldn't even hire her.

  • @FengMastaLi you see.....what you said is the core of the problem....but people just don't want to hear about it. So much poverty in the USA (and anywhere else for that matter) is caused by "having children you can't afford". It is so contrary to logic to keep having children when you have no money.

  • to find out more about a resource based economy watch zeitgeiest addendum or zeitgeist moving forward or the many lecture vidieos on the zietgeist movement or the venus project

  • look at norway = highest median income - number 1 in education- no poverty - free health care- 9xmore patents per capita - almost no crime-2nd in women elected (sweden1us66)- people live better in prison there than most of our lower middle class and poor - they refuse to send prisoners to the united states - not just because of the death penalty but because its inhumane - we would all be better off with socialism - that said there's a better solution to our problems -the resource based economy

  • @MrIzzyDizzy Norway is also an oil rich nation. They have tons of money coming in from oil revenues so they can afford to pay for social services. They are very homogenous as in they are very racist towards blacks, asians or anyone who isn't white.

  • @FengMastaLi i dont think you can call norwegians racist -ie never seem any evidence of that = and yes they are a rich country - you know what the us is too. that said i dont advocate socialism - i want to see a resource based economy - and i dont know if we will or not -i am hopeful that we might. but theres one thing im very very convinced of is we will see huge changes in the next 10 years or so - it could be beatiful or it could be horrible but the status quo is unsustainable

  • we need a resource based economy or at least socialism - one thing you can do to improve you childrens education - is to take them to the library and encourage them to read- anything they want - alos have them do some lessons on khan academy - if you dont have the internet - the library will - khan academy is free and has short lessons - let the child choose anything he has - we need to work toward the RBE or at least socialism - poverty is absurd when we have the capabilty for abundance

  • i wish and do believe that america can surpass this crisis! i do believe, the world knows, you have the resources already, the diversity and resilience of your country and your history. goodluck america!

  • from middle to much more higher middle class! well like what we believe in our country, poverty will always be there, but there will be a big difference thought it vary from countries, every glamarous there is a hidden dark. aw. but thats true thats life! i didn't expect those things, and even now that america has a recession i can't still believe and feel it. because of lower price for example a milk cost only 5 dollars while ours is 150pesos.

  • @dexz17 Poverty in America isn't even that bad. Compare to africa or even China. Go outside of the city of China and you'll see 3rd world conditions with poor people living in makeshift houses earning 300 dollars a month wages.

  • @FengMastaLi yeah your right atleast america is democratic, and could make the needed reforms. and i am really amaze with the attitude of americans thats why your country is rich! unlike us, we are so scared! but i know one day everything would change, evil doesn't exist forever! and by the way how do you know my country ahaha..atleast your like one of americans using brains.

  • actually i came from the philippines yeah from a third world country and living already last year in states but when i am already in the states, ofcourse at first i was amaze because there are things that are not in my country, but when i am watching tv i just only know by that time that there are people in america living in poverty i thought everyone has a comfotable life because america is number 1. i didn't expect those things, and i realize how lucky i was that my life changes,

  • @dexz17 thats because all of the Chinese have all of the money in the Philippines and wont share it with you guys.

  • @FengMastaLi yeah your right i hate those bunch oligarch thats why were having hard time to pass the needed reforms, until now feudal lords and monopoly system exist in our society and i hate it. they are so protected by the constitution they really put in the consti. and they have a lot of allies in politcis and they control the media i hate it! but i think they will pursue now the needed reforms as what i read in the news, and i hope so!

  • America was walkingh with its eyes closed. you cunts have no idea what poverty is.

  • @invisibleisolation I agree! Even Cuba has a national health service, and America, the 'wealthiest' nation on earth, doesn't even have one. They can afford to, of course they can, it just doesn't produce profit and they are completely driven by profit and greed. To take care of their own people would actually cut cost in the long-term - but they cannot see that far.

  • The problem is capitalism.

  • The problem today is this new generation that wants everything for nothing. Too dumb or too lazy to earn it. Take a lesson from that asshole you elected to the presidency (Obummer) you can't spend what you don't have!! By the way ladies, keep your fucking legs closed until you find someone responsible to support the children you want.In case you haven't noticed, this is the "BASTARD" generation. Don't blame society just because you are a bad judge of character and screwed a loser!

  • Comment removed

  • heres a fucking easy lesson ; DONT HAVE KIDS BEFORE YOU GO TO COLLEGE RETARDS

  • @valleychick6969 ure a racist!

  • On any given night in America, anywhere from 700,000 to 2 million people are homeless,

The "America" that so many of us have taken for granted for so many decades is literally disintegrating right in front of our eyes. Most Americans are still operating under the delusion that the United States will always be "the wealthiest nation" in the world and that our economy will always produce large numbers of high paying jobs and that the U.S. will always have a very large middle class

  • that fat slob should tie her hair up or cut it , i wouldnt hire someone if they walked into my office with long ass hair hanging all over their face looking like a hobo like her

  • Ron Paul doesn't cater to "groups" so this doesn't get publicized much:

The only 2012 presidential candidate that won't cut food stamps?

Ron Paul “I Don’t Think Cutting Food Stamps For The Poor Is The Right Priority”

Check out Paul's other policies. He definitely has the right idea.

  • if it's poverty in the US than I think the answer is actually simple(the problem is that no one dares to tell the truth): Through out every useless manipulating money-maker on the street and take their money - Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Pat Robertson.. and there're so many others. They literally take from the poor and give it to the rich. The fact that society allows them to do tht, that's the REAL problem.

  • Do not have children until married for two years or more. Get your education. Marry after 18 and delay babies until you have financial security. God bless everyone.

  • I'm never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever having kids in america.

  • @DelilahZoe All true. I think the real problem for people and money woes is that have children and don't really have enough money to support them. I not having kids untl I am married and have a higher paying job.

  • @DelilahZoe, no wonder american government keep issuing easy green card. i just got it the lottery, not sure i should come.

  • People are gonna get poor and skinny like a tarp over a bicycle.

  • /watch?v=OKGxx-UpcpU here's me and my friends dedication song to the struggles of the poor. we relate life to a carnival, how only the people with money can ride the rides. Thumbs up so we can spread the message!!!! thank you! and lets hope this recession ends soon! :)

  • 6:14 I feel sorry for her, i really do. But why the hell woulld you have kids if you are not financially ready?

  • school aint the answer when the answers are hidden.

  • STOP out of wedlock births and most poverty would go away. If only married high school graduates were allowed to have babies, many of these issues...like child care for single mothers who don't have job skills, and houesholds that don't have the time or energy to encourage educational sucess in the children....would be history. USE BIRTH CONTROL and get an education, then work hard-that is the recipe that has gotten millions out of poverty.

  • @BlueRidge1979 Education is not the only issue for getting out of poverty. There are those who institutionalize poverty (politicians) to make sure that corporations can keep profits higher by offering less. There are racial and sexual discriminations. There are religious and cultural discriminations. There are resources that are not available. How much of our education relies on the internet? How many poor people can afford it?

  • Higher education is one thing, but it is higher fundamentals that is actually needed. Mans imagination, and not man's intelligence is leading the way. It is sad that the only thing we can accommodate life with is money and a college degree. Consumerism and capitalism are the basis, yet they teach one everything to the degrees opposite of their supposed aim. Life has logic, man sadly is removing himself from it on a daily governmental regimen. Knowledge has No Ledge, so share the wealth, life =0$

  • if US stops wasting money on stupid wars then maybe the poor can be taken care off.

  • This was featured on helpusrise, org and was informative to watch.

  • While the lady being interviewed is being honest I have doubt she is being truthful. What happened to the childs father?, why is she not living with her parents?, Why did she have a car instead of using the bus? (in big cities, in some cases, it does not make financial sense) It seems to me there is some lack of foresight on her part, thus she is a victim of every circumstance that arises. Hopefully this shelter will help her figure this out.

  • @backpackr Some people are not fortunate to be able to move back in with their parents. The father could be a dead beat dad, she does ride the bus to get to work (listen to it carefully) Sometimes you can foresee what it coming but by then it is to late to step out of its way.

  • it is funny how people can watch this and then say it is not real or America is doing better because we can feed out poor more than once a week. But in reality there is little help for people in these circumstances. One of the highest deposit of Americas government goes to the space program. Money that should be going to the well-fare system and the education system. America has got things TWISTED! I mean really you know this is the wealthiest country in the world cause greed trumps compassion!

  • @RageAgainstMediocrty , I know this video and what they say is true! It still applies today. My mom(single at the time) she made just $2 more and she couldnt resive any help. I think there are way to many people trying to make it by payday to payday, picking to choose which bill to pay.

  • @RageAgainstMediocrty Maybe the rent just went up another $100. As a child I there were somedays where there wasnt any food in the house. Now since my mother is married it helps just a bit, but still they have to pick if they want food in the house or pay the bill. they sometimes have to go to payday and get money so they can just make it for that month.

  • @RageAgainstMediocrty My family wants me to have a good education and they are willing to sacerfice there means to help me out in college. I wanted to work while in college but I cant because I have Lupus. I cant do both at the same time. I dont know if im making any sence but what I'm trying to get at is that there are more poor people than is being said.

  • @KollaBears2010 I agree. I know what you are going through. My mom was diagnosed with Fibromialga (spelling is wrong) and Lupis. She can't work, and she keeps getting denied welfare. The only thing that I can say about the job work combo. Is talk to your adviser, you might be able to work at the center desk or something. Most campus job should be accommodating to your situation. They also work around class schedules. So talk to them, I hope things work out for the best for you. And Good Luck!

  • Every country has poor ppl in it. By poor i mean ppl who get to eat only once a day. America is doing a lot better.

  • @fickslaw In America due to this economic destruction, you have people barely eating 4 times a week!

  • @1000yearslaveEsau Thts so not true.. geez..

  • Hopefully the US will become more socialist like the UK and Mainland Europe and people such as these will not have to 'live on the edge'

  • @TruthApple88 I'm currently an engineer in the US. If this country goes socialist I'm quitting my job and living on hand outs for the rest of my life simply to drag down the system. Fuck Socialism.

  • @unseenxxx In a socialist state you would be employed by the state as an engineer-you would be too valuable to go to waste...comrade. On a serious note socialism is a dead duck, contrary whatever the media is telling you. They have you all whipped up into frenzy against socialism and suchlike when you are not focusing on the REAL problems;poverty, obesity, healthcare and unemployment etc etc. It is fine to have a higher calling but do not go along with this media driven absurity!

  • @TruthApple88 Your description is Communism not Socialism. There are also many version of Socialism, such as Democratic Socialism. I’ll also point out that All of Europe is Socialist. Many of (not all) those countries are economically more stable and thriving (e.g. Germany, Sweden, Norway, etc.). They have lower healthcare costs (which is totally nationalized), they have less unemployment, they have less obesity (because they see it as a community health issue not a civil right).

  • @DragonflyDM Yes, that is true-although I would like to point out that although we DO have social care systems in place that prevent unemplyoment, obesity and so on we are also very democratic. Indeed, we have more parties that represent a wider variety of political thought;such as the BNP a far right party and the SWP socialist workers party an even a party named the "Monster Raving Looney Party". Many equate socialism with loss of liberty-was it a loss of liberty when the Pariot act was signed?

  • @TruthApple... Where does your dislike of socialism or the ideals of socialism come from? I'm not attacking, I'm just very interested.

  • As long as there is money there will be greed why would any1 need a billion $ of personal wealth what 400 million isnt enough? 50 10 million? I make a decent living 25 to 35k a year i eat well have 2 cars go on vacations have a home, inet, cable ect... if i can live a good life on that why couldnt som1 on 1 2 3 or 50 million a year? the answer? greed! there are more people living in poverty in the world than rich if they wanted to revolt they could but they live in fear of rich people

  • @putsomestankonit yes you have it correct. We must revolt against the rich. If you see them. KILL EM!! They have waged a war against us, we must fight back. I am ready. we have a family the is poor and gave us food that they barley had. We also meet a rich person, and all he wants is for us to do work for him. So think about it. Enslavement or giving. I want America to wake up and kick some rich peoples asses. They are pussies anyway! They inherited the wealth from our work. It Is time!!!

  • @sovietninja3.. Im actually 35. The problem here is that nobody wants to give raises.. Working for the same company for years and get a 1 dollar raise, while all prices have gone up much more than that. I have worked hard all my life with little gain..

  • Money goes to foreign wars while millions live in poverty...

These pictures aren't from thousands of miles away...

    but from our own backyards...

    United States of America,

and its system called capitalism; the system of modern slavery.

  • @workergirls are you a communist?

  • This video soooo hit my life right on the head.. I have 2 years of college and my wife has a degree in applied science.. we both have jobs, but still struggle to make ends meet every month.. The problem is greed. The cost of living gets higher where pay stays around the same, making it almost impossible to get ahead!!

  • @martialartist34 you just have to work your ass off. you'll be glad you did later in life. how old are you? i assume like 22 or a little more, when you're about 40 your hard work will pay off

  • Drug dealing can bring you out of poverty as long as you don't get caught.

And so can armed robbery. Sometimes you gotta think outside the box and take a chance.

  • Thanks for this important video.

  • i dont understand if u are aware that ur situations r really tight to live a normal life and ur parents had a real hard time to bring u up and give u good education y u become single mothers and spoil the childs life who has not done anything to deserve a life like that........ grow up people learn to take care of ur self only, and stop producing children unnecessarily when u know u going to have a hard time bringing them up

  • lifes a gamble and can have twists like an ankle how you deal with it you handle

  • So the chick in the video started out poor and what does she do by age 27? Has a kid.

Smaaaaaarrrrrttttttttt! A sure way to start poor and remain poor is to take on more responsibilities than you can handle efficiently on your own.

  • spartacandream

Americans- they are a funny lot. They think that everybody owes them a living.

If they are poor they think the rest of the country should throw money at them

With 50+ programs in the USA for poor people you would think that would be enough. Food stamps, welfare, housing, medicade. If you do not like it here go to a new country. Move to Mexico. If you are so poor you probably do not have much `stuff ` so just hitch a ride out of town.

stop having children and get a job

  • Why do we need to help any section of the Middle class? Why not just help those who are hurting, we can barely do that. Poverty as I live it is eating 2 meals a day if you're lucky, and really treading the line to homelessness, and not owning a home and not being to send your kid to college. Which is great, I wish everyone could do that, especially since college isnt an option for some, such as myself, at the moment.

  • @spartacandream How can you get access to the internet if you are "poor"? If you cannot afford a home, you cannot have one. If you cannot afford to have three meals, you get two. If you cannot afford college, work for it. I am sick of paying my hard-earned money for lazy people.

  • @circusmaximus10 A laptop and internet costs less than food for a month. And my step dad got the laptop on his income tax returns, not that its your buisness. The internet just comes with the discount for the telephone. Also, it was a little easier when the economy wasn't as bad.

Actually, the only thing we get from the government is far less than we pay in taxes, nice rant though, have fun at college! Stop pretending others are just lazy

  • @spartacandream And what exactly do you do for work? I get nothing back from the 40% taxes that I pay. For that priviledge , I get bs from 20 yr old that will be taking my taxes as entitlements forever...Grow up

  • @circusmaximus10 If you think you're superior because I'm 20, then why do you respond to me? Cut the ageism. I don't take your taxes, we don't even get our money's worth out of my step dad's pay, nor when I do have a job. You assume way too much. Not everyone is as fortunate as you. You criticise me based on something you have no clue about, and I'm the one who has to grow up? Who even said we get anything from the government anyway? Only thing we get is a fraction of what we pay.

  • @spartacandream Sweety, please tell me what the hell I get for the $85k I pay out in taxes? I do not take a vacation and do not waste a dime. Worked for my education and became an engineer. So sorry that your "parents" have fallen short. Some humans should not reproduce.

  • @circusmaximus10 $85k is 40% of what you make???? Gosh!!!! That means the other 60% must be alot of money. Alot more than I'll probably see in my lifetime. That's more than my step dad makes in a few years.

Vacations aren't something my family has had. As for some humans not being able to reproduce, I never asked to be born. If I had the choice, I would've said no.

The closest my family ever came to that was when both my parents were able to work, and it would still take over 1 year to

  • @spartacandream Yes. It is some money that we earn. We watch what we spend, clip coupons, do not eat out. I have not bought clothes in 4 years. I grow my own veggies and pack our lunches.

  • @circusmaximus10 We do not buy "boutique" coffee.I shop at WalMart. I wash clothes in the middle of the night to save on electricity. I have been laid off 5 times in my life, but made sure that I had an education that would provide. My parents did not have health insurance for 5 years as my father was starting his biz. We prayed each day that nothing would happen to us.

  • @circusmaximus10 Try living without health insurance at all, then you can complain to me. We too shop at walmart for some things. Though walmart and even price chopper is too expensive with some things. Namely clothing and food. We get generic food from stores whose food tastes like its from some lab. And new clothes? havent had them in a long time. And the last time, they were from a thrift shop.

laid off 5 times in your life? That's a good record, I'm glad! Its nothing compared to my parents.

  • @circusmaximus10 Sometimes i wish there was a god for me to pray to to make things better. But I live in the real world, and don't pray to some wishful idea to come and save me. I try to make it in the real world without gods and fairies and stuff like that.

  • @spartacandream Your education?

  • @circusmaximus10 I graduated high school, with a 3.2 average. Why?

I was going to go to college, but then I had to cancel because I needed to try harder to find a job.

  • @spartacandream Graduated "from" high school. omg...get thee to a college asap

  • @circusmaximus10 I'm going to college as soon as possible, but right now, its not possible. If I don't somehow find a job, my life could be at risk. I have to somehow earn enough money to get my wisdom teeth taken out, which 3 have already started to come out, and ache. No clue how on earth I'm going to accomplish that.

Aside from that, I somehow need to get a car and a license to get there. We have one vehicle, it goes with my step dad to work.

  • @circusmaximus10 I have difficulty walking now because we couldn't afford expert care. So what!!! As a first generation American, I have done quite well. As an American whose language is NOT english and whose alphabet is NOT the same, I have done quite well because we refuse to pity ourselves!

  • @circusmaximus10 My mother is in the same situation, yet they don't see her as disabled, even though she obviously is. We can't even go to a doctor, we don't have the money for it, and definitely got no insurance. Before that, we got by, it wasn't as bad, and it wasnt good, but we got by. You assume i pity myself, I just stated a point and you felt the need to respond snobbishly like your better than me. otherwise I'd have said nothing.

  • @spartacandream Your education?

  • @circusmaximus10 Just 4 years? Well....we haven't bought new clothes since me and my brothers were little. Actually, if it weren't for my grandpa before he died, not only would we not have clothes, we'd be on the streets. He was poor and literally went a few days without food just to make sure we could have something to eat.

It's great that things are easy for you, and that you're able to get by with those measures. Though we too use coupons, I can't say we've had the money to be able to.

  • @spartacandream Get a grip and a life. I cannot wish you success if you refuse to try. Good bye

  • @circusmaximus10 Get a grip? Yeah, you too friend! A life? I'm trying, but as I said before, its not easy for everyone.

Who said I refuse to try? You. I don't need you to wish for my success, that would be useless, as luck is superstition. I'm trying with what I have, and I'm trying to find a job and trying to try to move forward. It's easy for you to say, as life is alot easier for you.

  • @spartacandream Kid, pls advise where I posted that you "refused to try"? But I guess you are reading my mind! Life is easier for those of us who stop being losers and thinking accordingly.

  • @circusmaximus10 watch what we spend. Our money goes to bills faster than we can actually look at it. We don't have luxury, we don't have extra spending money. We hardly even have the money for the bills we have. Though we get by, by using coupons, and by skipping meals, and taking other measures to make sure we can get to the next month.

I wish I grew my own veggies, and as for lunch, I miss having lunch at school. Though I wish it wasnt on tax money that we did it, because I'm a libertarian.

  • @spartacandream So you did get something...why should taxpayers pay to give you a lunch? OMG

At 20, what have you done to prepare yourself to be an adult?

  • @circusmaximus10 Yeah, like I said "what little I get is still less than my step dad pays in taxes", I do believe I said that. What have I done to prepare myself to be an adult at 20? Well I did what I can. I'm still doing more. As I said, things aren't as easy for others as they are for you. It's great your life is great and easy, but seriously, stop talking down to me. I'm not inferior to you, we're human, regardless what economic class we just happen to be in.

  • @spartacandream Thanks for the comment to my profile. Hope that you stay where you are, and suffer, leech. You are pathetic and a loser that has lived off of the backs of hardworking Americans. You should be ashamed of yourself, but those of your lazy ilk never are

  • @circusmaximus10 Thanks for the input, I'm glad you are so successful. Sorry you feel such an aversion to me. Sometimes I wish karma were real, then you'd be eating your words. I guess its nature that people like you can exist, and feel good about the way they are. Peace! And love!

  • @circusmaximus10 And it's hard for you still? Perhaps you should be ashamed, as you clearly are overspending somewhere, or wasting money on something. When my family made over 10k total per year gross pay, we got by. If you can't get by with all that money, then you clearly aren't very good with money. So don't judge.

  • @spartacandream I save lots of cash...lol...thanks for stealing from the rest of the hardworking Americans

  • @circusmaximus10 Nice strawman, I already told you why you were wrong.

As for you saving lots of cash, yeah right. If you can't afford health insurance with over 90k, then its your own fault. When we had only about 15k total of 2 peoples incomes, we could get by. Yet you seem to have trouble with 90k. WE don't need your tax money, you're going to need to learn to keep a budget though, or you'll get poor like me

  • @spartacandream LOL...where the hell did you ever get that idea? HAH!!! You are stealing my tax money! I PAY $80k in taxes, you fool, and am laughing all the way to the bank. Better be careful-your trailer may get away from you...lmao

  • @circusmaximus10 I'm done talking with you, have a nice life troll!

  • @circusmaximus10 even approach what you make. I'm glad you are so successful. I really am. I wish you well and that you never have to lose that.

I'm not going to argue that you're wrong in my case, as I was born to irresponsible parents, though there are other situations that aren't like mine. Where they could afford it, but then things took an unexpected turn for the worst.

Easy for you to say that some people shouldn't reproduce, and I've made sure I didn't do what my parents did.

  • @circusmaximus10 Btw, I have no hostility towards you, and wish you peace sincerely. Its not you're fault you're naive to what it's like to be poor, and I really hope you never have to learn what it's like. Though I do wish you would open your mind to the reality, its not at all the free lunch you think it is. Peace

  • @spartacandream I have no idea? You do not know me.Keep living in the swamp o deception...it's hard to get out of it but it is your choice! There are sacrifices we make, decisions we make and paths we take. Obviously, I chose to make good decisions and have self-responsibility. Your mentors have not

  • @circusmaximus10 Lol, you do realize why I pretended I knew right? Because you pretended to know what we got from the government. We don't get any programs, entitlements or anything. We just got unemployment for a short period of time. We're poor, and everytime a recession hits we get smacked hard, but the state doesn't have the funding to help people in need. See, two can play at that, since you didnt like it, get out of your swamp o deception.....its blinding.

  • @circusmaximus10 There are sacrifices you make? Good, that's necessary in this economy. Though what do we have to sacrifice? If we get rid of the phone, where do we get a job? You may say get rid of the internet, but we'd have to get a different plan which would be too expensive.

Unlike you, we have no wiggle room to make sacrifices. The only thing we can afford to sacrifice is our home and food. Our trailer is crumbling and we've got little food.

  • @circusmaximus10 You demonstrate through your demeaner that you have no idea, whether you do or don't. You say you chose to make good decisions, which I'm happy for you. Both that you made good decisions, and that you have choices. I on the other hand, do not. Get off your high horse!

As for self-responsibility, I do the best I can. SInce i can't find a job. I try to do the best I can mowing for the neighbor for 20$ a month. I barely can afford to take care of my teeth, and pay for the gas

  • @circusmaximus10 I have plenty of decisions? Like what? The only decisions I have is to try to get into college, which right now isn't an option for financial reasons. As I need to find a job. Find a job? Well I'm trying to find a real job, it isn't exactly easy for someone who hasn't been to college and lives where there aren't many places hiring. You make assumptions, but as I said, it's not easy for everyone.

  • @circusmaximus10 for the gas for the neighbors lawnmower with that.

My mentors aren't my parents. Actually, I can't say that I even connect with them, even though I live in the same trailer. Long story, but seriously, life isn't easy for everyone. I'm not asking for your sympathy, I'm just letting you know that it's not easy for everyone in the USA.

  • The time of Revolution has come...!

Save yourself, just kill a banker...!

  • Many people do go to college and still have years upon years of unemployment. Lack of education really doesn't mean much when you waste the money you don't have to try and get out of poverty. I know many people who had lost a lot to get into a school and 15 years down the line they are still living paycheck to paycheck and are barely making it.

  • IS THIS THE HOPE AND CHANGE THAT OBAMA PROMISED?

Yes it is.....I didn't vote for him, it was obvious to me that he was making big promises but he was "more of the same".

  • I have 2 college degrees and have NEVER been unemployed since I was 16. I'm 52 and was married for 27 years. I never had debt beyond a mortgage payment. My job of 30+ years has good benefits. We put 2 kids through University and they're both doing OK. Sounds great, right? Well, shortly after my divorce I had a series of medical problems (2005-2008). I now work sick or not and live check to check. My overtime was cut do to the economy and I "lost" $5K a year. (continued Next)

  • I have only visited the coasts of the US, where people are said to be "rich", but I saw A LOT of poverty. The gap between the rich and the poor were enormous.

I really wonder why there has to be so much of poverty in USA. What is the big idea about having a large part of the population living under such conditions? Wouldn't it be better if they got some education and became productive instead?

As a Scandinavian I wonder if America ever will discover true Lutheranism..

  • @scholion dont be fooled by education that it will give you a job... for example: there is high percentage of young graduates in india without out jobs... no one really knows how to elimate poverty really... i have studied on poverty but they all end up in bottlenecks... however, u can reduce poverty but not eliminate

  • i cant believe how spitefull people are they are poor becoz they dont work?? u just cant face the facts can u? america is not a perfect country america is not a free land america is not a rich country no country is perfect they show rich americans on the tv but unlike sum people my eyes have not lied to me i dont buy into this facism..

  • @Theblackbarbie698 Something isn't it, they think we poor people have it easy. As if anyone would choose poverty. Just because they never seen it be hard to get by in america, they just don't realize, that doesnt mean it can't be hard to get by.

  • @spartacandream No....you do just sit around and wait for the rest of us to bail you out...

  • Why budget your money when you can just spend it all on Rims? Silly people...

  • all tiz iz true why do the government shitz on us people work hard 2 survive man day dont kno how i feel..

  • IMHO, our biggest problem in the U.S. is "rugged individualism"--the idea that it's all about me, I don't have to care about anyone else & u shd just pick yourself up by your bootstraps. We're all connected &no one does it alone. Some ppl are lucky&they know their relatives'll be there to help them when times are tough, but not everyone has that. Some ppl start out in life w/very little. If they're lucky, they can overcome the obstacles. Some just aren't so lucky. They deserve our compassion.

  • It's a shame some ppl can't see how we're all connected. We have to help those less fortunate than we are--otherwise no one'll be there to help us when we're in need. Think of the talent we lose everyday when we prevent ppl from living up to their full potential by making a college education outrageously unaffordable & paying employees such tiny wages that a mere sprained ankle could cause them to end up homeless. Poverty affects ppl emotionally too & leads to many social problems.

  • Man they let anyone ramble in here.

If you are going to take the time to type something to post take a second to read it before you pull the trigger. At most it is only 100 words.

My god son 19 Years Old went out 2 days ago looking for a job and in just 3 hours got one at the local theater $8/hr ($16,500 per year). Hummmmmmmm what is wrong with the poor people. Too busy being poor and no time to look for a job??

  • @anyname666 what about those with a disability or those who live where there is very little employment?

  • @RedNativeRose

If you live where there is little employment & u have not moved then u are there by choice. & u choose to be poor. Move away and get an F’ing job. Shut up about how long u have lived there or how many friends u have there. Get out of that town & get a job & shut up about being poor. IF you have a disability then u are in the minority & we are not talking about just a few people here we are talking about a whole society of people who choose to be poor.

  • @anyname666 when you are poor you dont realize you can go somewhere else and not be if you have always lived there. horizons are lower, you have no picture of the world. most people in real poverty never leave their towns and probably can't unless they walk because after paying for food they have nothing (sometimes they cant afford food either bc of rent and water). gas money is for work only if they even have a car. this is real i dont fool yourselves just bc u dont know ppl that poor.

  • @ani451

All I see in your response is excuse after excuse after excuse.

The `poor` people I know waste money on cigarettes, beer, MJ, and lotto tickets. When they go to the $1.00 movie show they waste $12 on soda pop in the show. WHAT!! I thought they were poor. If you are poor take a bottle of water with you if you think you are going to die of thirst during the 2 hour movie.

In one sentence you said they had a car and in another you said they had to walk to get out of town. Which is it??

  • @anyname666 Can't you read? Try Again. (That means read my post again and see if what you said makes sense.)

I said "Gas money is only for work, that is, IF THEY EVEN HAVE A CAR"

The people you know aren't the only poor people by the way...also they don't actually sound poor to me...the people you are describing that is. I agree with your opinion of those people. (education is a better answer than moving tho) Poor people I know don't go to movies period.

  • @ani451

Well they may or may not have cars – if they do they are not poor. None of the `poor` people in Africa or China have cars. The label POOR presents an image of some family hovering and shivering in a makeshift shelter. In America we have food stamps, government housing, welfare, free education and on and on and on. Anyone who is `starving` in America is doing it by choice. Anyone who thinks they are poor in America don’t really know what poor is.

  • @anyname666 Or so you think, though I'd love for you to come to my house and tell me that.

  • @anyname666 Not everyone has the money to move. That is expensive to do. For us at least.

  • @spartacandream Yet poor Mexicans who have NO MONEY and no national connections move into this country every fucking day and find jobs you claim aren't there for you to find. But you have a computer, an internet connection and God only knows what all else plus you speak the most common language in this country. Not only that I will assume you are a citizen and harbor no legal work prohibitions.

I had to move to get work when broke, are you so much better than me or the average illegal alien?

  • Get jobs lazy fucks. You are poor because you are not a hard/smart worker.

  • Thanks for exposing the truth Minibronco!

    ☮ and ♥!

    Lynn

  • My dad was a world war 2 vet. Him and other soldiers got caught behind enemy lines. I was told he carried 1 soldier out of there alive. They were all starving. My dad was mentally ill before the army and even more so after. I come from a poor dysfunctional home. I was the only kid out of 5 to get a 2 yr college degree but since I looked poor I guess nobody would hire me. I've been poverty stricken all my life. I had 2 friends whom 1 of them for sure climbed out of poverty. They abandon

  • MINIBRONCO kudos to you

Finally a youtuber with a brain who GETS IT and someone who writes a report on what poverty in America. is all about and why it happens

Can u imagine the rich people in America funding 50+ programs for the poor in America and it is not enough.!!

The top 10% of the income earners in America already Pay 72% of the taxes collected

U just left out one thing Birth Control having children u do not care for must be immoral. At least stupid.! 4th generation welfare kids???

  • Your post reminds me of why we are in the problems we are today.

It is because of people like you.

    You are an enabler.

  • Loving it 1000

U don`t have a clue what enable means.

One who enables is one who allows and makes possible the continuation of a problem.

Poverty in America in now an OCCUPATION with children anxious to get pregnant at 17 have a baby by 18 and start the money rolling in for their welfare.

If you knew anything you would know that 80% of the worlds population lives on less than $10 a day and 50% live on less than $2.50 a day With just food stamps alone in America you get $3 a day.

  • anyname666 - Thanks for continuing to show that you are an enabler. Things will never change/improve as long as people like you avoid the issue and instead repeat the garbage that has been fed to you for so long.

If you knew anything you'd travel to ALL THE OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRIES and see that we do a horrible job relative to them related to poverty and the wealth gap.

You also lack basis economic skills in your last comment. I'd recommend you read the chapter on cost of living.

  • It is SAD That No One CARES About Poverty In AMERICA. Like it dont happen. Fools

  • Tangerinez77 - Good post. There are people who care, but too many people think helping the poor would bring competition to them. So, they bought into the rhethoric and brainwashing about the poor. It's just sad because the middle class and poor aren't different. And when people screw the poor they ultimately are hurting themselves without even realizing it.

  • @lovingit1000

I agree with you. I think everyone deserves a fair shot. No - no one is different. I've seen poor people aren't poor because they are lazy but they just can't get ahead.. they try & try but keep getting stuck in the middle. if they could get ahead it would save lives, like good schools better jobs better health care.. opens doors..more options.

  • @Tangerinez77 Or the sit there pretending we have it easy and have a free lunch, and want more. They're fools, and their naivette is going to bite them if the economy gets bad enough, as people will do to them as they do to the poor.

  • I cant say how it feels to be poor..but i have been broke for about 2months an i was going insane. so when i see poor people i will give them my last dollar no matter if im hungry. i hate when people ride pass homeless people on streets and dont attempt to give a helping hand so i will keep stealing from rich n give to poor long as i live in this shit hole wrold

  • Can someone tell me what the name of the song and the artist is?

    Thank You :)

  • Some of these comments sadden me. Our society believes that people who live like that is because they are lazy or because they deserve it. It is such an erroneous belief.

I know Im not that different. I was blessed with an extended family that helped out when we needed it without seeing us as a charity case. I was blessed with school teachers and leaders who helped give me the skills and the confidence and the hope that I needed in order to break the cycle.

  • 2:33: look at the difference in male/female salaries. this is so wrong.

  • God forbid you have to go through what they do, or you end up homeless. You need to think before you post comments like this.

  • I am a poor white trash male. The only smart thing I have done in life is NOT had kids.I would feel terrible bringing a child into this miserable world knowing I had no way of supporting them.

  • Bravo man, thats more sense than several million people care to make.

  • I don't know you, but I know your not trash.

Sounds like you have a sense of responsibility, good for you.
