In 1963, comedian Harry Worth took top billing for the summer at the Wellington Pier Pavilion, returning to the resort in 1970 to star at the Britannia.
I can just remember going to see him at the Britania Pier Theatre. My Mum worked on the Pier and she got me an autographed picture of him.... which I still have!
@Murphywood Bloody Hell, Harry Worth eh ? He was great wasn't he ? I went 3 times as a kid all the way from Wales : 1965, 67 & 69. We saw some great stars : Mike Yarwood, Engelbert Humperdinck , Dora Bryan and even Eric & Ernie, who at the time were further down the bill UNDER Mike & Bernie Winters !
I loved Great Yarmouth back then.
