and then sometimes i dont watch the "movie" at all, i just sit and think alone in the "theatre", this is when i lose memories, this is when i just automatically react to life as the "camera" and dont realize that me and the camera are the same thing, so when i eventually leave the theatre, my mind thinks no time has passed from when i was "out" to when i went back "in", but in reality, i was the "camera" for any number of minutes or hours, and these create huge gaps for me in my memory
ive always thought of it as the world around me becomes a movie and im alone in the movie theatre, i just forget that im apart of life or that the rules in the "movie" apply to me, sometimes i "watch" the "movie" and dont realize the "characters" talking to the screen are talking to the person sitting in the "theatre" or "me", one time it was really bad, i was watching the "camera" walk across the street and then didnt really get it that the cars could hit me, cuz i think im not in the street
Wow, you are a really strong girl, I so much regognise myself here with these ptsd symptoms....they are very frustrating.. it's real good and brave you are putting this on youtube!
I have come across your videos quite a few time and watched a few each time and forgotten who you are every time i came back wile watching videos on different topics. Oddly i do not remember you but i remember the video topic hard to explain i guess and only once i see the videos i had watched.
I've had missing time events, but then, so supposedly had others around me. That suggests paranormal or that these people didn't want to tell me what happened. In the past few years, I've been recalling some of these events. Some events were also those who had accused me of things and I reacted in a negative way and also dissociated that as well. Really bizarre. One time, and not at band camp, I was on Howard Sterns radio show during work hours. Not something I would have done typically..
D'oh! One "benefit" (if it can be called that) is I often forget episodes of TV shows that I love. (e.g. Simpsons) which makes watching the DVDs just as funny the 5th time as it was the first. :-) After the 5th or 6th time I'll usually remember the details that I love so much.
Of course, many of the other experiences are anything but beneficial. (Large chunks of my childhood gone...etc.)
I therapy helps you and that you have a ridiculously happy and healthy life going forward!

i have to tell you i ve fallen tottally in love with!!! thanks for doing this its the info ive needed for along time!!! peace out. ps you are beutiful!!!!
@mkv1901 Yeah, that's exactly what it is. I always say if there is a period in my life that is too stressful and crappy that I know I won't remember it anyways.
@mkv1901 Because it's Chronic, more severe. With forgetfulness you may place your keys somewhere, someone finds them and you say "oh yeah, I forgot I put them there!" With dissociation it's more like "I don't even know how my keys got there"
@lovethewiccan3fl i found alot of great description reading about NLP and their work with how mental processes,..association and dissociation.try andrew23blog.the more you associate to a memory, the easier and more readily that memory becomes available,ie,visual, auditory, tactile, kinisthetic, olfactory(smell).i hope this provides some useful information.
@DearFirebird Ooh, I can't wait to see that video. Did you have some sort of technique or something to stop from dissociating or did you just kind of stop on your own?
you're stunning, i have ptsd and suffer from dissociation as well it can be really frightening...
