  • Thankyou Harry for the powerful and emotive feelings your voice bestows in me every time without fail, magical!

"Then I will bow in humble adoration and there proclaim My God,how great thou art"

Played at both of my parents funerals by Harry. Angels of mine XXX

  • good by sweet friend.....Always in my heart

  • I met Sir Harry in the early 70's at Stones Chop House in Panton Street in the west end of London. In the foyer of the restaurant opposite the main door was a magnificent large clock: Sir made his entrance by standing under the clock doing two small jumps then saying by heavens I seem to have put on a few pounds. All around him burst into laughter including myself who at the time was the head cocktail barmen.

  • Good singing. Thanks.

  • I was brought up christian, raised in Swansea, and have my own beliefs, but you know what, he brings it all back home, the importance of the beliefs and customs of the Welsh. We have our own beliefs, religion, etc. Shame it's dying out.

  • @Lillianux

Aye, and is there a man who can't sing who is worthy to be called Welsh? All of the traditions are dying.

  • Mr Harry Secombe........The Voice

  • I will be forever thankful to a dear friend who was born in England for introducing me to Harry's amazing voice.

  • Harry Secombe played "Mr. Bumble" in the film adaptation, "Oliver!". He was an amazing tenor with magnificent range and breath control, as seen in his performance of "Boy for Sale" in that film. This is another captivating performance, and a testimony to the greatness of God.

  • Yes Yahuah is great, all come back to him in the end.

    HallEluYah.

  • I really miss his "Highway" programs ! Someone is really missing a bet in not gathering them and putting out a DVD anthology.

    Mr. Bluetower

  • RIP MY grandad John Brown I love you xx

  • Golden beauty of the kind that age only makes stronger and younger. A total stunner, it's a magnificent piece of awesome artistic work.

  • How great He was at the time of the South Asian tsunami which killed a quarter of a million and bereaved, orphaned, maimed and left homeless and destitute many millions more. Or could it be that He doesn't exist?

    Liked Harry Secombe, mind you.

  • @ReadSunsetSong he CAN hear you y'know

  • @optimumvalue9 : More to the point - is He hearing the people of Haiti?

  • I'll get my coat.....

  • Believe in something, it's your for the choosing

  • @steveO84413 : I believe in humanity. I just wish we would waste less time and energy on a non-existent god and face reality.

  • Whether their is a God??? or what, you must have hope that mankind will eventually sort itself out.

  • Remember my dad singing this when I was a boy, he loved this song, and I love this man's voice, so uplifting.

  • I am not religious in a traditionall sense but this expresses the religious feelings that I DO have.. Thanks for posting this. What a great meditation this is. Both the music and the accompanying images are truly magical! Thanks.

  • Bless his memory - one of Swansea's finest.

  • Yet another beautiful hymn sung magnificently once again by the great and late Sir Harry Secombe. As the old saying goes - further comment would be superfluous.

  • how many people can be a buffoon comedian and also have such a beautiful voice, Harry so funny, so talented, so missed.

  • Thank you for your comment redchampions. I totally agree. My father was in show business (comedy band you are probably far too young to have heard of or remember :)) and counted Harry amongst his closest friends. He even came to my 5th birthday and I have vague memories of him. Sadly I never got to meet him in later life. What a shame.
