Harry Secombe I grew up with your comedy and your voice, what a voice. How great though art reaches another level with Harry very moving, my Mum's favourite Hymn and played at her funeral. Just wonderful. A very much missed man
I met Sir Harry in the early 70's at Stones Chop House in Panton Street in the west end of London. In the foyer of the restaurant opposite the main door was a magnificent large clock: Sir made his entrance by standing under the clock doing two small jumps then saying by heavens I seem to have put on a few pounds. All around him burst into laughter including myself who at the time was the head cocktail barmen.

I was brought up christian, raised in Swansea, and have my own beliefs, but you know what, he brings it all back home, the importance of the beliefs and customs of the Welsh. We have our own beliefs, religion, etc. Shame it's dying out.
Harry Secombe played "Mr. Bumble" in the film adaptation, "Oliver!". He was an amazing tenor with magnificent range and breath control, as seen in his performance of "Boy for Sale" in that film. This is another captivating performance, and a testimony to the greatness of God.
Harry's magnificent voice coupled with a stunning video just exquisite thank you to a very special person in my life for introducing to this man's voice.......
How great He was at the time of the South Asian tsunami which killed a quarter of a million and bereaved, orphaned, maimed and left homeless and destitute many millions more. Or could it be that He doesn't exist?
I am not religious in a traditionall sense but this expresses the religious feelings that I DO have.. Thanks for posting this. What a great meditation this is. Both the music and the accompanying images are truly magical! Thanks.
Yet another beautiful hymn sung magnificently once again by the great and late Sir Harry Secombe. As the old saying goes - further comment would be superfluous.
Thank you for your comment redchampions. I totally agree. My father was in show business (comedy band you are probably far too young to have heard of or remember :)) and counted Harry amongst his closest friends. He even came to my 5th birthday and I have vague memories of him. Sadly I never got to meet him in later life. What a shame.
to all those who disliked this video ignore the voice of the singer. instead listen to the song dont dislike it for its a song for GOD

Aye, and is there a man who can't sing who is worthy to be called Welsh? All of the traditions are dying.
