Great video. I have pretty much the same setup but my hobo stove is made from an old dog food can which holds the meths burner. I need to make the can shorter though so that my billy can is nearer to the flame.
Hi Mike, i was wondering where did you get your billy can from, also how many cm is it across the top? Im making a hobo stove and need a billy can to pack inside it :P
Excellent demonstration of efficently using an alcohol burner stove indendently. I especially liked the looks of the material used to manufacture that particular stove. Looks to be made of Brass. I wonder; would there be a website or snailmail address for a Yank like myself to purchase such a particular Brass Stove?
the stove unit was made from an old coffee jar and the main cooker unit is from a trangia stove, so if you can buy trangia stoves then you can buy the parts as the stove is sold seperatly
Have to say I find that 2 inchs is a good hight for that "Brass" style of burner. Too low and a lot of the heat is up the side and out. A bit lower for the pepsi can style maybe. Nice setup that does not seem too expensive.

Very nice kit. Good size for multiple people. Does your windscreen work well in windy weather? I find spirt burners are temperamental in wind.

Nice little rig. That's a good set-up for a Trangia stove. Those Swedish cookers are hard to beat.
