Why do these guys fuck with our health care and retirement we pay for yet they never tamper with their own benefits that we also pay for. They also make millions from lobbyists. They don't care about average americans just themselves. They only thing they ever agree upon is a pay raise for themselves. All these politicians are to blame. They were the one's with the checkbook! Average people have to run a responsible budget why can't they without the pork! ASSHOLES
A lecture on health care from Newtie Gingrich, the thrice divorced Family Values Republican who abandoned his wife when she was in the hospital being treated for cancer. Now THAT'S a Republican health care plan.
Insurance bureaucrats already determine what procedures we get, people already die because private insurance denying them treatment. Newt is very disengenuous when he compares apples to oranges by claiming the government will replace your doctor's function, when in reality it will provide an alternative to the private bureaucrats already running the system. He's in the pocket of big insurance, which already causes the death of people every year by denying them life-saving treatment.
The areas in American life where we are having the most difficulties are where government is most involved such as education and health care. In virtually everwhere else we get our desires taken care fairly simply. When most of us want food, clothing, housing, entertainment, and many other things we don't generally have difficulty getting these things because mostly the private sector provides--not the government. Besides, the Gov't provides for you to control you. Only capitalism liberates you.
Loser Knute Ging(way too)rich, who resigned in disgrace as House maj. leader, is all the ReFlubLieRants have to hang their hat on? Do you really think the public will believe this inept moron? I guess, John McLame, maScara Palin + brainiac dubya haven't destroyed your Party party enuff, huh? After the last near decade of ,"The Worst Prez The USA Ever Had," you fright-wingers actually believe anyone will listen to your Party ever again?
How high are you all & what the heck are you smokin'?
Wake up people. The transition back to private clinics in Canada is what will eventually happen if we get universal health care also. The poor will be left out to dry with rationing and substandard care. If they want to provide insurance for the uninsured then do it and give states the ability to opt in or out. When it is run successfully then the voters can decide if they want their state to opt in. Its the only fair way. Don't commit the entire country to a plan based on wishful thinking
This moronic dolt/ Who's name is Newt/ Got booted out long ago/ A philanderer all the way/ He still must pay/ For being a philandering mope/ The Fright-Wing now has no one/ They could possibly run/ Because they've destroyed the earth/ How could they be trusted/ When they all s/b busted/ Cuz it's zero now they're all worth/ FREE NATIONAL HEALTHCARE/ & NOT CORPORATE WELFARE/ Must be put into effect/ For "We The People"/ Are no longer fooled sheeple/ Of the ReFlubLieRant Human Rights rejects
buttpack-2 answer Ur question, dickhead,None!!! Have U anything else stupid U'd like to say? Are you even capable of forming a cohesive thought with your head so far up your ass? If you could comprehend, you'd realize ALL the ReFlubLieRant Party, & then some, favor the quich buck & not, "We The People" whom they SHOULD be representing, but don't.
The rich con(vict)servative Fright-Wing has successfully lead the U.S., & the world, into sahmeful moral & economic bankrupcy, so smarten up!
It is interesting that it will be illegal to sue the government & their healthcare providers if something goes bad under their insurance, but these same people oppose making it impossible to protect private insurance. So it is wrong to sue the government for providing bad health care, but acceptable to sue the private sector for the same thing? I love the utter and complete hypocrisy: here's an idea, lets just try making it illegal to sue private health-providers & enjoy affordable healthcare!
As far as I know the Libertarian party does not support the federal governmental intervention into the health care system or the federal government being involved in social issues such as gay marriage. They like all of those issues to stay at the state level, so lobbyists and special interest groups have less of a part in the outcome and the voters have more of a say.
Newt Gringrich basically has no plan. I went to the website and it is all fuzz, no substance to anything in there. He did NOT answer the question.
Newt goes on and on about a government bureaucrat deciding... the reality is that the bureaucrat right now is at the health insurance company; this employee performance is measured based on denying coverage.
The argument is about medical insurance. Public vs. Private
Who is between you and your Doctor now? The Insurance companies and they stand to lose billion$. They are the ones opposed to reform and the GOP is their bitch.
As Jesus said," I'll heal you, if you have Blue Cross/Blue Shield, but if you can't afford to pay me, go liest in thy corner and die"
"I will turn this water into wine, only for a profit", thus sayest the Lord.
The Democratic party is divided on what the definition of marriage should be. As opposed to Republicans party which is unequivocally against it as well as health care reform.
We have people like Barney Frank and Dianne Fienstien who have come out and said gay marriage should be legalized in all states and Dems like Obama and Clinton who have said they are not in favor of "redefinition" and support civil unions.
Focus people! Do not involve yourselves in anything besides the life or death issues demands of "We The People" regarding free Medicare-like national healthcare; the immediate cessation of the Int'lly, illegal U.S. invasion & genocide of Iraq, Afhanistan, & Pakistan; the instutution of regulations to stop the catastrophic U.S. con(vict)servative led world rfinancial recession. Heeeellllooo!!!! Please, get your heads out of your asses, people!
The technological advances that have improved some procedures in the US do NOT come from insurance companies and for-profit hospitals. Most advances come from your tax-dollars through NIH (national health institute). Drug and biotechnology companies do help with the R&D.
Newt says that the government would have a bureaucrat from government between you and the hospital; well, I rather have somebody paid to help than a health insurance bureaucrat paid bonuses to deny me coverage.
I've lived in England, their system is nothing to be envied and the "Big Government" arguement is relevant. Leave the fact that the British Health system is a joke for the moment and look at the oppressive tax system they have had to create to pay for their nanny state. We have a little'ol document that spells out what the Federal Gov't is supposed to provide and theres nothing in it about universal health care. We need to roll the Fed Gov't back about 200 years.
200 years sounds good to me! The Founding Fathers had it right the first time. And, we have seen improvements too: civil rights, technology. But they had it right in a bare bones government
@Leavon ur a dumbass, in england we have free healthcare (if we chose to use it), or we can go private...the choice is there if you can afford it, but for the poor they dont have the choice, so what are they supposed to do?
@ItsKnucklez Really and it seems I actually know how to formulate a sentence. Yes you can choose to use private sources but you're still paying for the government run system. The nanny state that your governement has created is strangling your economy. I had friends while I was there that were working two to three jobs just to make ends meet and their quality of like sucked. I don't have a solution for your country I really wish I did. The people of England are going to need find one though.
@Leavon why are you sweating about what the goverment spend? they went to iraq, they havent left, you have gained nothing from that......free health care means NOTHING if you chose not to accept it, continue on with your plan and nothing will change......if you think our goverments have "limited resources" then you deserve to be american!!!!!
@ItsKnucklez You just don't get it, you'd rather rage away and make strawmen rather than acknowledge that the path that is being followed leads to ultimate failure. Thats fine, go back to your new used car and play your music real loud and pretend you're accomplishing something, the rest of us will change the course. You finally did say something factual though, I do deserve to be an American and you've demonstarted that you deserve everything thats coming to your country. Now I'm done with you.
If we could make a system as good as Britan, I would say to go for it. My fear is that we would close insurance companies and move their CEOs and business model to run the governement insurance agency. That would be dangerous.

The title of this video should be called "Newt has NO PLANS to Fix Healthcare". And you want to know why ABC didnt allow conservatives to post ads on Obama's "info-mercial?
Because conservatives wouldnt have presented an actual ALTERNATIVE to the public option. They would just use the tired-ass "BIG GOVERNMENT is seeking to control you" argument they have been using for the past 30 yrs. You knowm the one that Newt is using IN THIS VIDEO!
I'm pretty sure public option is not raising taxes. No one wants to pay more taxes. People for some reason simply want something free. Which is what Obama has promised. Tax people that work hard, and reward people that don't. Simply put.
If we limited the litigation cost in health care, we could cut plenty of the cost involved. I know a surgeon that pays $300 dollars a day in liability insurance. He passes that cost along to consumers. Imagine what the cost of non citizens showing up at the emergency room is. If these two aspects could be controlled, costs would really decline. With the present party in power, those two reforms would be off the table.
The majority of people who sue doctors make very little money, if any and have to wait at least 7 years for their case to be brought to trial That's the truth. The people who do abuse the system are the ones who receive Medicare and Charity Care and run to the ER every time their kids sneeze at a cost of $300 to $600 per visit. If that's a taste of National Healthcare ....they can keep it.
We are in agreement. I was not aware of the time issue regarding lawsuits but I agree with who the culprits are in the lawsuits. My source agrees with you on the litigants.
Most attorneys won't touch a medical malpractice case. They have a better chance of winning personnal injury cases which, like I said, take years to go to trial. The majority settle out of court.
I did some fact checking that supports your post. Thanks for the information. I only know one attorney so my scope of knowledge of what they do is limited. I do know quite a few people in health care so my knowledge base is slanted. To a person, they do not want government run health care.
Is the person who posted this DELUSIONAL? All he did was say that he AGREED with the majority of Obama's plan. Than he talked about passing a bipartisan health care bill with the Dems but DID NOT STATE WHAT IDEAS THE REPUBLICANS WOULD CONTRIBUTE TO IT. The Republicans just cant scrap the public health option and call it bipartisan!
Why do these guys fuck with our health care and retirement we pay for yet they never tamper with their own benefits that we also pay for. They also make millions from lobbyists. Heard today Canada allows private clinics, and they are springing up all over Canada.
Seems the gov healthplan puts sick and injured people on long waiting lists that are unbearable so opt for a better solution.
Do you want Pelosi setting the recommendation for your lifesaving surgery? Maybe too old, maybe too sick, maybe a political undesirable.
Why have it in the first place if it doesn't serve the sick and injured to any satisfaction?
Likely, same here with Obamacare. Sad.
