  • Great songwriter..check out the Associations "On A Quiet night" one of PF Sloan's best mellow tunes!

    .com/watch?v=88u7btY85Z8

  • He sold the publishing to Lou Adler in '69 for peanuts, he lost a million dollars and was stacking cases of beer to survive by '75. Tragic guy.

  • Great song. Great performance. Wow, this guy could write.

  • WOW!!!

  • Johnny's is better than this

  • Had the real pleasure of hanging out with Phil as my boyfriend, Keith Graves, played drums with him at West Fest in San Francisco on October 25/09. We had fun the night before, too, when they rehearsed at Prairie Prince's studio. Sally and John Tivens also played with them.

  • This is fantastic acoustic version of the tune by the guy who co-wrote it.

  • He's a really cool guy. I had lunch with him once, my dad is friends with him. Really nice guy.

  • @timeywimeylord Me too! ! Wow!

  • Too bad Johnny didn't write it. He'd be a rich man today. He's fortunate that PF chose him to sing the song for the tv show!

  • I agree, this is ok. But Johnny Rivers is better

  • I never think that a man learn this tune for real!!!! =) Good Job but i hope that you've cut your hair the 80.s are dead

  • yeah, this guy is the coolest! eve of destruction written at 19 years old.

  • P.F. Your Great!

  • Way Cool.

  • youre rite maryquant: this guy deserves the Hall much more than Michael Jacko does...but these nominations have heavy commercial weight..

  • If you can remember the 60s, then you weren't really there.

To really appreciate PF Sloan now, you had to be there then. Context means a lot.

  • Amen to that! The Association - who did a Jimmy Webb number "P. F. Sloan" - should also be in the Hall of Fame. Wake up, you people!

  • This man deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame about a million times more than the likes of........ugh.....Madonna.

  • P.F. Sloan alone sound better tha Johnny Rivers...alot more cooler!!!

  • While I love PF Sloan..who is one of the truly great 60s songwriters...his version is not in the same league as Johnny Rivers.

  • I love the nuances in this version. Here the song in a new way. I personally think it's refreshing to hear another rendition than the same old, same old--and from the source no less.

  • ABSOLUETLY FANTASTIC!!! P.F. Sloan LIVES!!!

Wow, that was one great performance. I love P.F. Sloan. I wish somebody wopuld put out his first two albums on CD already, for God's sake! (and tons of unissued stuff, like Me and My Captain, etc)

    Thanks a LOT for posting!

  • PF Sloan sounds better acoustic than the musicians who performed his songs in the late 60s. genius.

  • Ain't no way this is better than Johnny Rivers! He's the MAN! Some songwriters are better left to writing songs! This guy is one of them!
