The film 'A Woman In Berlin" is great and can be called a truly masterpiece work. It is also very important work especially nowadays, when people once again need to analise a real history and to remember it's lessons.
It's the film that must be seen to know what really was happened 60-65 years ago but the viewers must be mature enough to be able to see not just the very obvious top of this story but to see through the characters the lives of real people with their real fates and to realise eventually all the tradegy and all the incredible horror of any war. The viewers must be able to see the reasons behind the behaviour of every person and honestly ask themselves what would they do in his or her shoes.
This film triggers a lot of complex, deep feelings and thoughts. It is not easy to decide who you sympathise and feel for because everyone is forced to survive in totally ruined and anti-human conditions, but we always judge a person for being able to stay human in any conditions and we admire the ones who can get through. For many it is a question of life or death!
I also ask people who are going to watch this movie or already did to remember that personally they are not the highest judge but just a human beings who are lucky to be born after this war and live in peaceful times and who have never experienced the horror of the war, their own family losses and never was forced to make a choice between survival and honor. That is very important.
Before to sympathise certain side try also to remember who was to start this war, who was a real invader and how many losses has each side during a war comparing to each other. Try also to compare a real cold sadism to natural feelings like revenge or fury or even hatred. It is not easy I know. In other words, try to understand the results of WW2 for every person's fate and finally for every country.
P.S. I suggest those little trolls, spitpoisons and any slanderer to go train their skills somewhere else but not here. Don't touch the sacred memory of heroes (and just those whose lives were ruined because of this war) with your dirty tongues! It's the film that must be seen to know what really was happened 60-65 years ago but the viewers must be mature enough to be able to see not just the very obvious top of this story but to see through the characters the lives of real people with their real fates and to realise eventually all the tradegy and all the incredible horror of any war. The viewers must be able to see the reasons behind the behaviour of every person and honestly ask themselves what would they do in his or her shoes.

This film triggers a lot of complex, deep feelings and thoughts. It is not easy to decide who you sympathise and feel for because everyone is forced to survive in totally ruined and anti-human conditions, but we always judge a person for being able to stay human in any conditions and we admire the ones who can get through. Before to sympathise certain side try also to remember who was to start this war, who was a real invader and how many losses has each side during a war comparing to each other. Try also to compare a real cold sadism to natural feelings like revenge or fury or even hatred. It is not easy I know. Die genaue Zahl ist auch nicht wichtig. Tatsache ist, dass diese Dinge in sehr grosser Anzahl stattfanden, und wenn Historiker auf die Zahl von zwei Millionen kommen, dann bin ich der Auffassung, dass die tatsächliche Zahl um ein Mehrfaches höher liegt, aus dem einfachen Grund, weil auch in Friedenszeiten die meisten Vergewaltigungsopfer niemals eine Anzeige machen, oft sprechen sie ihr Leben lang mit niemandem darüber.

I know that the Red Army wasn't made up only of Russians, you don't have to teach me.... This does change nothing about the fact however that RUSSIANS have a high tendency to commit these crimes, they did it before WWII (in the russian civil war, in the napoleonic war etc.) and after WWII (in Afghanistan, in Chechnya etc.)

I am living near the french border, I speak a little a french and I love the people in France. All frenchies I know dont want to see these movies of hate and war anymore.
