HAHA, it's interesting that a real people were used in the Bible. A lot of this actually misconstrues history as we know it and makes the Assyrians a shrouded peoples. There's been speculations that the Hebrews were absorbed into the Assyrian nation. There's also the resentfulness between the Muslims & Christians (eg: Arabs & Assyrians). I am 1/2 Assyrian, but I definitely promote the idea that the Assyrians are related to the indegenous peoples of Mesopotamia and NOT the Arabs.
@YonanBarkho did u get beaten up as a child which led to you being so insecure about yourself that you would think people are insulting you when they aren't?
Woah ritzz, I think mulg1 was asking if the Assyrian army died, not the entire race. No one doubts your existence now. Try to show a little kindness. Mulg1 was asking a question, how about telling us what happened to your people after the poem ends.
this goes to Elijahsfire: listen man, i was trying to tell "mulg1" that assyrians DO exist. Hes tryin to sit there behind his computer like a little bitch and tell me that yes Assyrians did die because of biblical and historical evidence. That is bullShi! my man. I am a very proud Assyrian and dont you dare f****** tell me that I am something that doesnt exist. Come to Illinois, and I will gladly introduce you to many Assyrians. Dont look for us under stones, were here infront of you, BiTcH
I'm not christian at all, so I don't buy the death angel tale as a true thing, and mice were (and still are) great disease carriers.
But I don't care about the Assyrian got defeated by mice, nazis, spartans or angels: I just owe my gratitude to Lord Byron for this great masterpiece of poetry.
All hail Lord Byron.
(the glance of the Lord... Byron)
P.S. I hope I didn't post multiple comments, I'm having problems with youtube recently.
It's about the Assyrian invasion of Jerusalem and Judah in 701 B.C. What does this have anything to do with the Assyrian population of Chicago, Illinois? Huh, Ritzz?
please note: this poem is not a slight at Assyrian history. It is about God and angels. This should NOT be understood in a political light, but consider that, if anything, it is a testament to Assyrian power, which only God's angel could stop.
