this is not stermys game for sure, you can see he tries to strafe jump where he needs to do a speedjump instead. griffin being a cpma veteran gives him a big advantage.

i liked the comments from the shoutcasters questioning wether stermys painkiller experience would help him. no chance, since aircontroll in qw is totally different from pk.

i only liked watching griffins bits.

But you're right Stermy didn' have a chance. Maybe he have some skill in Q3CPMA but damn, QW is QW.

Griffin is huge name in QW history and I bet he still play sometimes QW with old friends.

apm hardly means anything, they are mostly cycling buildings and dumb things like that. i'm not saying its skilless, but i got to c on iccup with only 1 week of playing. the game isnt very hard to learn at all and it is very boring

It's really silly the way the Quake players argue about which Quake is best. They are all QUAKE games, it just depends on if you adapt at all. All are fast, all need smart players, all need U to master all the weapons, all need you to master movement, and movement on the maps. I say quit crying and waving your stupid flags and take the war to noob games like Halo, CoD, Crysis, BF and any other cheesey FPS out.

One thing I hate about a lot of Quake Players, or players of any fast-paced game is that if you're still new to the game, they criticize you up and down about it and say you're shit at that game and should go back to Hello Kitty. -.-

I don't know HOW many times I got then the first few days I played Quake 4 Live (Or whatever the online is, I haven't played in a couple of years.) It's like a lot of other games, you learn from experience.

@Artas1984 Not really, the sliding improves the movement a SHIT load, once you get used to it, it's hard as hell to go back to old school movement. It gives you extra speed coming out of corners, further jumps etc. you can even gain speed just by sneakily falling down a ledge then sliding into a little turn to gain more speed quicker. Believe me Q4 updated to 1.4.2 and the Q4Max mod is hella good, especially for duel and CTF.

@MrUnofficial im sorry but.. battlefield bad company 2 ..a revolution just like quake 1 was..and i own all those games. quake 3 was my first fps :) even tough im 15. but theres just not enough people left playing quake and quake live is lame compared to quake 3 so i play teamfortress 2 :D

@Leoooonard Death Match oriented? This is dueling, there's more to it than "DM". Power up, item, gun, ammo timing, map control, movement, enemy prediction, using the right weapon in the right area / situation, aim, keeping track of enemy HP / armor, their timings on items etc. it's far to complicated to stuff into 500 characters or less.

CS is a team based game, actually the majority of the games out today are teambased all of your suggestions rely on team mates, not personal skill.

@Leoooonard Those "War Simulators (LOL)" are way to slow, corner camping, team based games. you don't have to earn anything, it's all given to you on loadout (weapons, armor, extras). Not to mention nearly all of these new games are slow as shit. They move like sloth in drying cement. and are some of these popular games are even CODED to make you feel bad ass, grenades / knives / tomahawks flying at impossible angles to hit their target from across the map etc. it's all been noobified

It is not the most skillful.. the potential skill you can reach in QW is nothing like as much compared to something like Starcraft Broodwar... and that is not the only game.

I played nothing but QW for 8 years, and I still do. It is awesome, and competitive, but what you say here is just bullshit.. QW is easy compared to others.
