Indeed, it is my second fave song besides Born to Raise Hell in the movie. Don Franckes was awesome in this and My Bloody Valentine 1981 don't you think? oh man Angel was another one of my teenhood animated wetdreams, she is one hot mutant girl.

Did you know the voice of Stretch and Zip is also on Inspector Gadget as some of Dr. Claw's goons and that nerd superhero? you can tell his voice. Did you think the Canadian version of this movie is better than the US cut? it told a different story set in an alternate world/universe instead of being after WWIII and had scenes not shown in the US release but a different voice for Omar. Angel sure has nice tits don't you think?

There was also Nosferatu (1979) which has 2 different but great cuts which are great and the same for Nausicaa when it had warriors of the Wind or The Beyond with 7 Doors of Death. Same here on Angel for me pal. Do you think Mok looks like a cross between Puppetino from Pinocchio and The Emperor of the Night, David Bowie, Mick Jagger and sometimes Steve Tyler? and at times when he is in that costume, he looks like Dr. Scratchensniff

@Johnlindsey289 The Beyond is a far superior cut to 7 Doors of Death, but i agree about Nosferatu and Nausicaa. Mok's full name in the original script was Mok Swagger, which was intended to be a humorous reference to Mick Jagger, who he kind of looks like. He does also kind of resemble Steve Tyler, Puppetino and even Dr.Scratchensniff. lol

A fusion i think. She was also the voice of Snow on TinTin. Did you know that the voice of Elmayra from Tiny Toons, Foxxy Cleopatra, Dulcy on Sonic The Hedgehog, and others was voiced by Cree Summer who is related to Don Francks? it's true fact. Roman was awesome as Sailor Jupiter

My second fave song of the movie next to Born to Raise hell! i grew up with this movie since 93 when i was 12 when i watched it on TBS with Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, American Pop and Robot Carnival and loved them as i was hooked into adult animation. This is a great animated movie for the family despite some crude sex related humor, brief drug use and mild violence with it's PG rating.

I first saw Rock 'n' Rule when I was 6 years old & I instantly fell in love with this song during the club scene with Angel & (Cindy) Cinderella! I found this song back in '01 on a Rock 'n' Rule website, but the sound was kinda sucky. Downloaded it anyway. LOL

Ironic that this was from around the same time they had that last album before the breakup, that was so crossover it flopped and is probably what did them in. Yes THIS is what they should have been putting out there then! This should have been the single. It sounds so much like them, and the chord progression also perfectly fits that whole '83-84 period (right before all the music went completely digital).

This is seriously one of the coolest songs that they did. Love the part at 2:20 where there's simultaneous vocals, normal and electric mixed in all at once, almost entrancing, I really wish that part continued for longer than the 10-15 seconds it lasts. I put this song on an 80's dance mix, and listen to it frequently at work, always gotta turn the volume up on this sucker when I hear it!

And the people who made the movie, Nelvana, prefer not to even remember it existed because the movie damn near killed the studio. You remember this movie? did you ever watch it on HBO or video in the 80's as a kid or in the early 90's on TBS when you were 12 back in 93 or 94? i did when i was 12 18 years ago thanks to reading the local city TV guide and watched it, i loved it. I also watched Heavy Metal, Vampire Hunter D, Robot Carnival and American Pop as well, loved them. I even made myself uncut VHS copies of this movie, RC and VHD when i was 13 on a second VCR as i rented those and made myself copies then.

Fire and Ice was another awesome adult toon i grew up with when i was 6 years old when i watched that with my big brother including Wizards and i saw Starchaser in theaters in 3D. Yes when i was 15 and it was cool.. I also watched stuff like Akira,  Wicked City, Heavy Traffic, Lord of the Rings, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in The Shell, Pink Floyd The Wall, Golgo 13, Fist of the North Star, Beavis and Butt-Do America (Saw this 3 times in theaters at 15), Project A-Ko etc. as a teen as well. Did you know Warriors of the Wind was a butchery of Nausicaa? i didn't realize that until i saw the uncut fansub tape in high school.

the song was a made for tv movie. no soundtrack ever created because i think they had a limited budget. shmae though.

Yes it was a limited budget ($8,000,000)and the small amount the studio got back from ticket sales was only $30,000. They didn't have enough money to produce a soundtrack. The only songs released from the film that are available to own (itunes) are Cheap Trick's Born To Raise Hell, I'm The Man, and Ohm Sweet Ohm. If only they had the solo "Angel's Song" by Debbie Harry and the duet with Cheap Trick and Debbie Harry called "Send Love Through" and Earth, Wind & Fire's kick ass "Dance Dance Dance."

The reason Rock And Rule wasn't very successful was because of how long it took to make. I believe in the DVD booklet, it's mentioned they spent about 2-3 years working on it. In the meantime, MGM released a movie called Heaven's Gate which was so much of a bomb, that it nearly bankrupted MGM. As a result there was a full blown regime change, and the new corporate heads weren't as enthusiastic about the Rock And Rule project when it was finished. So basically, the film was buried upon release.
