  • Very useful video, had to lubricate the window guides on my Nissan Almera and was struggling to understand why the handle wouldn't ease off with leverage. The clip was quite loose, so only required one hook to pull it out. Confused me a bit that the previous repairer had installed the clip upside-down :) Thanks for the info!

  • worked very well. thanks a lot!

  • @madmike26inch No problem at all. Thank you for visiting our channel on YouTube.

  • @1aauto

i took the window crank off and when i was putting the clip back on i accidently placed it on backwards.

now the clip is facing the wrong way. How can i take the clip off?

  • @Azadi1111234 You should be able to turn the door handle into position so that you can get at it, or you should be able to remove if with the door handle removal tool from the opposite direction. Hope this helps you out.

  • @1aauto

by door handle u mean the window crank?

kinda confused on what u said....

  • @Azadi1111234 Sorry about that, yes I meant to say window crank removal tool. There doesn't really seem to be a wrong way to put the clip back in. You should be able to get it back out with the tool.

  • @Azadi1111234 Sometimes it's hard to see the clip in there. The window crank removal tool should work for you.

  • @1aauto Actually, about 5 minutes after I posted that, I looked it up and found at that the F-150 uses an Torx screw under the plastic cover of the handle. Thanks for trying anyways.

  • My crank doesn't seem to be the same as the one shown in the video, there isn't a clip as far as I can see. Do you know if the theres a special trick for the crank in a '94 F-150?

  • Cheers for the video paper clips worked a treat on my 1996 Holden Rodeo :)

  • paper clip trick worked great. did it pretty easy. i took a rag and jammed it in between that plastic washer and crank handle which also pulled it away from the door panel a little bit. TY

  • Thank you so much. It was a little tricky with the two clips, but I did it.

  • holy smokes thats a clever little trick!!!!

  • i have a 2009 kia rio5 and i have the tool to remove the pin but i can not locate it. is there a trick to locating the pin.

  • thanks for the video!! I got a 98 s-10 with manual windows and needed to remove the door panel, bought a universial tool for 6 bucks and tried to figure out how to use it but couldn't figure it out so I searched youtube and this video came up after watching the video I tried again and the handle came off in less than a second so thanks again for the video

  • I almost destroyed the crank handle !! Thank you for the tips and calming down my anger with the door !!! Thanks !

  • i want to get the tool but i dont know what it is called....does anyone know ?

  • @skeletonshady There's not really a fancy name for it other than being called a window crank handle removal tool. You can find them in the help section at the local parts store.

  • Do you have that tool for removing the window handle at your site?, and if so what is it called so I could search for it at the site because I have no idea what it is. Thanks

  • Omg I Did It So Wrong. :( I Think I Messed Up The Medal Stick That Sticks Out, Like It Doesnt Have The Grind Gears It All Flat Now, Do You Know If I Could Replace That?

  • @lovejuancarlos That's part of the window regulator. Take a look at or website 1aauto.com we might have one for your vehicle.

  • I used safety pins to get the crank off of my 2000 Cavalier 2-door z24,

    THANKS FOR THE HELP!

  • that is great thanks for the help!!

  • Worked on Pontiac Grand AM. Thanks for the tip! I tried a bunch of other methods like the towel and saran wrap trick, but those didn't work for me. I did your paper clip trick, and it worked like in 30 seconds, haha. Thanks again.

  • this helps thanks

  • paperclip trick would be more helpful after you take off the handle to show what and how you should be hooking the paperclips.

I had difficulty with that as it kept hooking the washer and not the clip.

I used the putty knife to slide along the sides, parallel to the handle, and found this a very easy way to pop at least one side of the clip out. I did it twice and was able to pop the clip off in only a few seconds each time.

  • Pre 1968 VW's use a pin, instead of a c-clip.

  • Thank You! This video was very helpful :)

  • Thank you so much for this video. I've been searching and searching for this exact information!

  • Is it the same way with a 97 jeep wrangler sport? Thanks.

  • @laurajdahl If it has a window crank similar to the one in the video then yes it will come of basically the same way.
