Such a great song. I remember being a 6 year old hearing this for the first time and being mesmerized by it, and it's never lost it's hold on me since. The '80s had a knack of coming up with songs that once seduced by them, they stay with you for good.

So sad that Laura passed away so soon. It would have been nice if she lived to a grand old age enjoying the fact that she sang classics like this.

I will never understand how this song didn't do much better. It displays Laura's voice in it greatest most radiant strength and shows off her incredible range. While everything she did was superaltively great, Spanish Eddie easily exceeds her signature tune Gloria in every respect. Oh well, those who love laura know the truth of her work and we will forever keep her close to our hearts and souls. I think I need to flash up the big stereo and absolutely blare this one out at ear splitting voume!

I remember when this song entered the Hot 100 in the summer of 1985 and how slow it went up the chart. I was scared that it would not go top 40, but it managed to go to #40 and stay there 2 weeks. I was sad and disappointed that such a great song was passed over by radio. I t was such a summer song and the summer of 85 had some of the best songs and artists in the top 40- Tears For Fears, Madonna, Duran Duran, Pat Benatar, Cyndi Lauper, Wham, Eurythmics, Bryan Adams, Howard Jones, Paul Young etc
