It is a couple of years back now, when he had a couple of hits - one of them quite big - and that was called Perdono, or something very similar. Could have been around 2004, perhaps? Cesare Cremonini? The name sounds familar - unless it is because his name sounds like a famous maker of violins? I`ll Google him one day I have more time.

Italian musicians like (please forgive my potential misspelling): Zucchero, Andrea Bocelli, Eros Ramasotti have gained substantial success singing in Italian. Tristiano had a huge hit with Perdono a couple of years back. But off course it is easier to reach a big audience if the lyrics are in English. But Italian, just like Spanish or French, is actually one of the few languages, other than English, recognized the world over. Just look at Il Divo.

Her videoes, the way she dresses and conducts herself - she is a performance artist taking Shakespear`s word litterally, and using the world as her stage. I believe she is a really brainy girl, who will leave solid imprints in our cultural history - similar to David Bowie in the 70`s - for decades to come.

Off course there are musicians that are better at their craft than others. But that doesn`t overshadow the absolute fact, that the importance/value of music is to be determened by the individual listener. But as a regular music lover I think Jazz blongs in intimate Jazz clubs - not giant arenas for 3 mins.
