does anyone else find it somewhat disturbing that the Terran was able to fight off a heavy Tech Zerg army that massively outresourced him and was using optimal counters for as long as he was able to.

I think it illustrates how ridiculous effective and versatile a Terran army is on minimal income. If it was any other race than Terran that game would have been over a long time ago.

@comerbp82 no its mainly zerg that caused that problem. zerg units are incredibly weak and are either incredibly slow or incredibly fast but zerg can counter having a weaker army by being ablt to make a max food army faster than any other race, they can tech switch in an instant, and they can expand extremely fast. zerg players just have to be agressive with thier units and their expansions. TLO did that perfectly and so he won

@CrustyOatmeal not buying it. It was Ultralisks and Broodlords that where EXTREMELY more expensive and slow to produce that the Terrans MMM army and he was still able to hold it off with low tier infantry units and a handful of Vikings.

Broodlords and Ultralisks are not weak units. They are not cheap units. They are not fast to tech units. They are incredibly expensive units, that had appropriate support, that were losing to low tier, weakly funded, terran units.

@comerbp82 what i said is true of all units except ultras. ultras almost never have a place in a zerg army. they are HUGE, slow, and die extremely fast against most armies. im a zerg player and i can say i NEVER use ultras. broodlords on the other hand are beast against the mmm ball as long as you have 5+. the broodlings act as a meat sheild that keeps the army from advancing. get 6 proodlords, 12 corrupters, a few infestors, and a bunch of hydras and you are almost unbeatable

@CrustyOatmeal what your talking about? Ultras are awesome against Toss ground, and Very good against Terran Mech. I'm a diamond level Zerg, and Ultras are the only reason I bother with the ground game past early-mid game. Tanks absolutely murder every other Zerg ground unit, and Colossi+blink stalkers destroy anything the Zerg have except Ultras.

@comerbp82 im a diamond player as well and i can tell you there are far better ways of dealing with either situation. tunneling roaches/ infestors can deal with both armies and are much more versatile units. i think the ultras need the buff that the thors got, they need to be smaller so more of them can be in an army effectively. i just think their size is their biggest downfall. all a good player needs to do to destroy ultras is get them in a funnel

@Tomminightmare think about it, a terran or toss player needs to build a building and then make units where a zerg player only needs to make the tech building and then it can make an entire army instantly where toss and terran have to either spam buildings or wait for a few buildings to make a army the same size

what gosciu555 said, plus T or P structures are generally able to produce more than one type of unit, which equalizes them even more in regards to zerg unit construction flexibility.

@MALKton no it doesnt. in order to make 6 zealots and 4 fenix you need 10 buildings while a zerg player only needs 2 buildings to make 2 different unit types. zerg are good at fast teching i said they were good at fast tech switching. try and imagine how long it takes a terran to go from bio to mech and get a good size army and then imagine how fast it takes a zerg to go from sling muta to roach hydra and macro an army. all the zerg need to do is make the building and then make 20 units at once

@CrustyOatmeal that may be as you say (my favourite race is Z), but getting as much larva as you can requires queens,who "drain" APM for spawn larvae.

besides,each build has a chain of upgrades attached to it,which you have to research first;a Z player has to catch up on these upgrades to use a unit composition to full efficiancy,just as other races/players.

and btw-hatcheries/lairs/hives are also utilized to produce workers,so your average army-unit output is lower than your max.overall output
