Now this just might be me, but, whenever I had to evacuate and go to defensive, especially a little dwelling, I felt somewhat defeated..I am not seeing the "nice job"...

The fire, which started in the basement, was spreading into the 2nd fl/attic when the FD arrived. The stairwells were burnt out. The house was lost before they got on scene.

The chief made a good call evacuating everyone.

It's not about being defeated it was an empty building. Everyone made it out and you are only seeing two minutes. The right decision was made and everyone went home safe!
