in my opinion America took it way 2 far, because the Japanese bombed pearl harbour killing maybe hundreds of military men at the most but then they r all fucked off so they go and drop a few atomic bombs on 2 major Japanese cities killing 10ns of thousands of innocent civilians! as an after effect there were thousands o people left with radiation sickness causing horrific casualties even death. and to be quite honest it makes me sick that such an act should have taken cause!

The lesson you should take is not that America is stupid, it's that people are stupid and war sucks. But unfortunately, people are stupid and sometimes war is inevitable. It's part of the world we live in and we'll never be completely rid of it.

That's an interesting comment since the film can be seen as a comment on how, by being so very war like and hungry for battle, Japan's government (and it's male population) caused such devastation to befall the country.

This is not a slam against Japan from me, but actually one to the underlying themes of the film.

It's not just America. This film isn't about anti-America. It's anti-WAR generally speaking. It doesn't matter who starts it or ends it, either way, society is unable to perform the most important duty of protecting its innocent, and therefore, yes, war is really stupid. Especially when religion differences get involved. We as humans become so blinded by hate and rage, we end up fighting over silly things. Perhaps we're too smart for our own good.
