  • no im not

  • this sound like a castlevania song, but worse

  • I hope..You are kidding.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • This kinda of sounds like a song about the Vietnam war kinda.

  • in a way it is. the song is about shellshock.

  • um, you sure about that?

  • yes

  • Really epic movement, but it's too short. Mike does a good job on backup vocals

  • look it's DAVID BECKHAM :D

    2:02

  • HOLY SH!T GOOD EYE!

I wish this song was longer though.

    GO DREAM THEATER!

  • xD hahaha

  • Comment removed

  • fuck stage performance, Singing comes first. and if it means he will focus entirely on singing than yeah, i could care less about him trying to look cool.

  • What are you talking about iDirgeInferno he's perfect!

  • this is my favorite part of sdoit. I just wish it was longer!!!!!

  • 1:16 Daniel Gildenlöw headbanging.

  • Oh just check the Score dvd, you'll see him multiple times, gotta be him or his twin brother.

  • haha, my friends and I would always joke that he looked like "Early 90's Kevin Moore"

  • hahaha, yeh it´s more moore ;)

  • his voice sounds so much more different on the cd...

this song would be my 2# favorite 1st would be misunderstood

  • tahts becuase on cd, its seperate recordings all mixed together. Of course everything sounds different in studio and live, but Dream Theater pulls it off to the point where it sounds the same both in studio and live. Thats how good they are! :)

  • 1:06 james labrie on violin!

  • hahaha

  • pahaha!

  • why does these song isn't complete in all parts I see it? kinnda wierd

  • yea!! one of my favorites of DT!!

  • 1:15 shes like "holy shit this stuff kicks ass!"

  • I like how they got an orchestra like metallica.

  • I like how metallica got an orchestra like Deep Purple!

  • lol...?

  • Metallica weren't the first ones using an orchestra.

  • i no

  • then why type "lol...?" ?

  • ...peese shut mouf.

  • why?

  • awsome performance... gotta love mike's shirt...

  • This is one of the best DT performances

I really love when Portnoy sings!

  • The biggining of the song sound Like Slayer...It's fucking amazing the influencies them put in 6DOIT...

    DREAM THEATER RULEZ!!!!

  • Copied comment.. :P

  • jesus christ, is this all you do? go around and say negative shit about labrie? Sounds like you want to argue with everyone about whether or not hes good.

  • Personally, I do not see why people bother to seek out videos of bands they do not like just to leave negative comments. I cannot stand rap or hip-hop, and you will never see me searching out videos by those types of artists. What would be the point?

  • well said. I do not get it either...

  • totally right!... i couldn`t agree more

  • Go fuck yourself, Snowchick.

  • fuck you

  • die ben mustaine!

  • And I bet none of them have ever lost any sleep over that :)

By the way, why are you here?

  • Then why are you here watching this?

  • He sounds like Dave Mustaine!

  • lol at 1:15 hahahaha the only one headbanging

  • The lone headbanger.

  • Dream Theater isn't metal, Dt has its own genre... Dream Theater is Dream Theater!

  • orchestra's meld really well with metal especially here, but DT is prog anyway

  • This song is really amazing, it really makes an internal chaos in my mind o_o. I love Labrie's voice, but Portnoy's voice is really cool here! And the melody... I JUST LOVE IT!

  • Awesome song I just hate how it ends

  • I know I should say sth less stupid but... the singer should grow some beard.

  • It rawrks! :P

  • Man, I wish Dream Theater would've elaborated on this song more, make it It at least 5 minutes of so with it own solo or something like that. It just creates a damn fine atmosphere of rage and hysteria :)

  • I thought it was suicidal tendencies cover, that would be swesome, still petrucci is a badass.

  • you and 3/4 of the rest of us.

  • lol 1:14 el es el unico metalero :P

  • this song is one of the best of dream

  • yeah this is progressive!!!!

  • <3 orchestra, truth is....combining rock (progressive rock :P) and orchestra in a good way is (imo) hard, and DT successfully combined the two, <3 <3 <3

  • Have they ever failed at doing anything?

  • they fail at failing i hope that comes out right

  • lol

  • ST and DT can not be compared!

  • lol, song names. 'least dream theater's sounds better, eh?

  • WTF!?!? Suicidal Tendencies is an idiot punk band and DT are prog. gods and you even bother comparing them ? If you pick 10 random people on the internet , 10/10 will say that DT are better.

  • I've compared the 2 by listening to some ST, and I gotta say, ST doesn't have much originality. Compared to DT, actually you do not compare, sorry.

  • The heck is ST?

  • Suicidal Tendencies

  • fuck you suicidal is way more original...

  • what the hell does suicidal tendencies due with DT??

  • Who the hell are suicidal tendencies???

  • a real badass band

  • a song with the same name

  • lol, at the suicidal tendencies comment. if original means trying to and succeeding at sounding just like mettalica then sure that statement has credibility. DT is the definition of original.

  • sound like metallica? :S ST?? REALLY??

    thats bullshit :S

  • I am not sure if you understand the English language. If bullshit refers to the near undeniable truth about something that is the only way your statement has credibility.

  • if you think ST sound like metallica then you need to clean up your ears... fuck NO ONE sound like ST, just infectious grooves... dream? original? just ask to queensryche, fates warning, or symphony X.... suicidal sound like metallica?? fuck no

  • congrats, you can read wikipedia.

if you don't think 41 minutes of orchastra +metal isn't original shut the fuck up and get out.

  • some people does not need wikipedia...

orchastra + metal??? mmm just ask deep purple how "original" this is...

  • just ask yourself who is going to be remembered 50 years and perhaps beyond from now for the work they did, DT ot ST?

  • i somewhat agree with both of you but Teebo wtf? you know how many bands metal or not use orchestras? its completely common DT is amazing but sure even they sound similar to bands and just because someone knows something doesnt mean they look on wikipedia thats retarded

  • I know a lot use orchestras but for a song like this. Not many.

When he listed other prog. bands he listen all the bands and no others then the ones that appear on wikipedia, thats where that comment came from.

  • Different styles. They are hard to compare. Both are good bands though.

  • 9/10 because of that idiot <.<

  • Lol this isn't the name of the song. It's the subsection of the song Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence. Think before you post ;)

  • oh I' am so sorry...not

  • muy bueno

    this is realy music

this music is war inside my head

  • Lmao, what nathanabbs said was hilarious

  • fuck you

  • portnoy ftw!

  • Portnoy Rules!

  • i like mikes t-shirt, very cool.

  • yeah

  • SC is good,very good, but I prefer 6DOIT

  • hmmm.,why do you say so?

    hmmmm.,maybe..uhhhmmm..yeah..

6DOIT is great, i'm saying this because of that about to crash reprise viking riff.i really like it..,

  • i agree still an amazing song though

  • I LOVE THIS FUCKING SONG

  • Oh, and. Do the strings sounds a little out of tune to anyone else?

  • I change my mind...this is the best song on the title track.

Portnoy's a great lyricist, a good singer, and a fucking amazing drummer!

  • i love this song, and the portnoy's suit XD

  • Gotta love the chorus of this part of Six Degrees...

  • the orchestra gave the song an extra oomph!

  • this song should have been great with the movie 300!love DT!

  • I don't agree with you. If you check wikipedia, you'll see that this song talks about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Soldiers are often diagonosed with this after they've been in stressful situations like a battlefield. If anything, this song is an anti-war song, from the perspective of a vietnam war veteran - "napalm showers...", "free vacation of palm trees and shrapnel", "a military victory mounted on innocent ground". A lot of PTSDs end up committing suicide. The end of the song cuts out.

  • Well that's a comment you don't see every day. +1

  • Wow, Portnoy has really cool backing vocals on this song.

  • I like LaBrie's Theatrics, it really adds to the affect.

  • it sucks that mike portnoy cant play the 16th notes on the ride during the chorus cus hes singing

but ya, i wanted to see all of the sections on six degrees extended to 5 minute songs each

  • most of them are over five minutes

  • I was wondering about that, but it makes sense. When he's recording he doesn't recording his backing vocals while he's recording drums. He does it separate. It's super tough to do double bass work while singing, let alone double bass work and sixteenth notes on the ride.

  • ya, especially on this song, ive tried to play it and am barely getting the bass part right, if im not playing it wrong already

its one of those songs too fast for a single pedal, but almost too slow for double bass

  • Hahah. Yeah I hate those songs!

  • Those songs are NEVER too fast for single pedal ;]

  • Oh he's obviously trolling us ...

  • this shit rules!

  • i know what this is from i just think that they should have made this awesome song longer

  • I agree with you. I would love to see this segment extended by a few minutes.

  • a 2 minute dt song?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! WTF?

  • its in between about to crash and the test that stumped them all.

  • ahh, that's only a part of __42-minute__ song called "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence"

  • its only one part of the epic 6 degrees of inner turbulence DUDE

  • Ever heard of wait for sleep? A 2 minute and 31 second dream theater song. That one isn't apart of a 42 minute masterpiece either.

their songs don't have to be long, they just have to be good. They have never disappointed in that respect.

  • i love this band their songs are so f***ing amazing!

  • anybody who was there knows that this video does not capture how fucking epic this song was live

  • No recording beats being there live, especially not Dream Theater shows.

  • each and every member of this band is absolutley amazing at what they do...and the product is mind-blowing

    amazing to the core.....

  • Including the singer...

    James LaBrie is too underated...

  • Finally someone who realizes LaBrie's talent!

  • Accually most people (probably 95%) realize LaBrie's talent.

but when some hates Labrie they just can't shut up.

  • how much more epic can you get?

  • the best band ever

i love you guys petrucci, myung, portnoy, ruddess, labrie!!!

  • agreed ^^

  • agreed agreed

  • agreed, agreed, agreed :)

  • they're nearly as good as cake

    and that says something

  • did they make the correct party decision?

  • i fucking agree with you man,.

    cheers!

  • oh man this is so awesome!

  • james sings like dave mustaine at the beginning

  • lOl

  • yeah but the difference is dave mustaine is a moaning ginger faggot, and james labrie isnt ;)

  • WOW HE REALLY DOES O_O

  • at like :30-:40 it sounds like the orchestra is like "duh duh duhduhduh duh duh"

  • this song deserves to be way fucking longer

  • ^ This

  • this is just a part of a 42 minutes long song called Six degrees of inner turbulence

  • very true

when the part 2 dream theater??

    lol

  • I was at this show, and one of the things I remember most about the whole night was how fucking MONSTROUS this was. \m/

  • can you understand how much i envy you i would have kill to be there!!

  • Oh, how I envy you. No fair...

  • i love how JLB comes in two beats early xD

    in every other way amazing

  • no he doesn't, he's replicating the quiet panning "napalm" form the original. I imagine it's hard to do live.

  • heh, bought the album a day after i posted that and noticed that "napalm" is repeated

logically seemed like a mistake, but after a few times it fits
