I love Dream Theater, but the orchestra they got SUCKS DICK!!!! They are out of tune, they can't play together, and they are just fuckin' sloppy! I was so happy when I bought the record, but after I heard it, I couldn't believe that DT would put it out like that. Not that it was their fault, but damn the orchestra is horrible!

I don't agree with you. If you check wikipedia, you'll see that this song talks about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Soldiers are often diagonosed with this after they've been in stressful situations like a battlefield. If anything, this song is an anti-war song, from the perspective of a vietnam war veteran - "napalm showers...", "free vacation of palm trees and shrapnel", "a military victory mounted on innocent ground". A lot of PTSDs end up committing suicide. The end of the song cuts out.

I was wondering about that, but it makes sense. When he's recording he doesn't recording his backing vocals while he's recording drums. He does it separate. It's super tough to do double bass work while singing, let alone double bass work and sixteenth notes on the ride.
