I believe Todd Bentley should stand down as a minister. He's committed adultery on his wife and just saying sorry is not good enough, he has to pay a penalty like king David did. And that penalty should be he no longer in leadership. What example is he showing by publicly doing these wicked things. Its a sham, Samson lost the anointing of God when he went with Delilah and so Todd Bentley will lose his annointing for doing this sin against God.

if you have ever had to confront a megachurch minister about errors in his doctrine or life I believe you found an ego, a narcissistic personality who does not easily or readily accept another believer's humble queries and questions about his/her teaching etc-- this is why confrontations such as this happen--there is no venue for a humble man/woman of God to dialogue/rebuke these ppl I do not say all megachurch leaders/ministers are this way but it seems to be a sad growing trend..

The person ministring might in any case repent publically as the sinned publically, but they might have been rebuked privately first, than - well as Mathew 18, 15 ff describes. So you give room to return in love, not confronting too early. No idea how this has been in this case.

It is not confessing sin that is required by Christ. Satan will confess that he sins. It is to repent of your sins that is required. Todd needs to repent (meaning turn away from) his sin of adultry and be reconciled to his wife. And even after doing that he still should not continue to minister. And any man who has truly repented of these sins would know himself that he could never return to preaching.

Just a thought before we judge here, there have been many ministers brought down by an attack from the enemy through the opposite sex. If he was truely repentent, he would GO BACK TO HIS WIFE....!!! you don't commit adultry, divorce your wife, marry the harlot and then go back into ministry, that's insane.
The only problem I have with this is the sort of self righteousness that was displayed. For example at 3:20. The Lord has sent true leaders and men of character? But you're still sinners, too. Your character and leadership don't come from yourself. They come from Christ. Gotta be careful with the way we word things. But I'm totally for public rebuking.
I really believe these men are very sincere and have great concern for the Body of Christ when these type of sins are pretty much winked at and the gifts are valued more than character of a ministry with worldwide influence. It is still very grievous to me. I don't know how either Todd or Jessa can get up on the stage and just carry one with ministry. The Body of Christ is obligated to forgive, but Todd and Jessa have no business ministering on any platform for a very long time...if ever.
Praise God for the courage of those men who are contending for the faith (Jude 3). Todd Bentley is a false convert, a false prophet and a false teacher. This is clearly shown by how he treated his wife and continues in adultery to this day in the sight of a holy God. Thank you for showing this. when controversy rises, the pastors in charge of these congregations should shut the door to these "traveling ministers" with no foundation, i.e. parent body who had issued them their credentials. Years ago during the Healing Movement (1947-65) Gordon Lindsay tried to organize many evangelists. Someone said Lindsay became the conductor of an "unruly orchestra." It seems that same spirit exists today. Traveling ministers stay yoked to a local church. When controversy arises, take you butt home!

When this rebuking incident was done, Todd had not repented at all, and even so, Todd Bently preaches a False Gospel friend. The person ministring might in any case repent publically as the sinned publically, but they might have been rebuked privately first, than - well as Mathew 18, 15 ff describes. So you give room to return in love, not confronting too early. No idea how this has been in this case.

It is not confessing sin that is required by Christ. Satan will confess that he sins. It is to repent of your sins that is required. Todd needs to repent (meaning turn away from) his sin of adultry and be reconciled to his wife. And even after doing that he still should not continue to minister. And any man who has truly repented of these sins would know himself that he could never return to preaching.

Just a thought before we judge here, there have been many ministers brought down by an attack from the enemy through the opposite sex. I happen know people who have been attacked in this way through satanist. It is sad he left his wife and kids but lets remember what scripture says about rebuking. matthew 18:15-17 first you rebuke him alone, if he does not heed you take 1 or 2 people with you and rebuke again, if he does not take heed tell it to the church then if he does not heed shun him.

To repent means to turn away from...not to justify and cover over. When I see Mr. Bentley, I see PRIDE. I believe strongly in the mercy/grace message- but this is neither mercy, nor grace. 1 Timothy 5:20: "Reprimand those leaders who sin. Do it in front of everyone so that the other leaders will also be afraid." "Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them." I do want to ask, if Todd did not commit adultery would you have had a problem with other aspects of his ministry needing public rebuke (uncontrollable shaking, twisted prophecies about Christ coming in person, leg-dropping a congregant)? Would you have rebuked him and Joyner for their kundalini-type spirit impartations? Thank you for doing this hard thing though.

How beautiful and precious is the Holy Spirit. If we are established in Jesus and abide in his love then let us also walk in his Spirit. The Lord lays bare all deceptions in the spiritual realm and we see through his eyes the things in the 2nd heaven as they are. People who tap into the 2nd heaven, are themselves deceived, basing their relationship on signs and wonders are clouds without water.
Let us be a generation that chase after the heart of Jesus, in spirit and in truth.

Hats off to you guys! I was part of Morningstar for awhile and the smartest thing I ever did was get the heck out of there. It's scary to see such a big ministry where there is no accountability amongst it's leadership. They all need to be rebuked including Rick Joyner and Bob Jones- both are false prophets

Is Bentley the problem or is he a well illustrated symptom of a problem? Pentecostalism had digressed from Azusa Third-blessingism (Conversion, Sanctification, followed by Spirit Baptism) to AG/PAOC Conversion then Spirit Baptism and now it is simply Third Wave marginal conversion and wanting to see visions and prophecy. William Durham's applied teaching of the Finished Work of Christ does not reach far enough. Clearly to speak a scriptural truth does not automatically make it me.

@holyghostrad "these guys", as you refer to them, are IN POSITIONS OF MINISTRY, AND THEREFORE ARE SUBJECT TO A HIGHER STANDARD OF MORALITY. It has NOTHING to do with "taking the plank out of own eye" (and THAT scripture has to do with brothers judging brothers, NOT rebuking leaders who sin, as Paul rebuked Peter TO HIS FACE.......this is the problem with so many, they take one scripture out of context and use it to cover situations God never authorized.......

None of us really know what went on in his marriage, but at the very least he has the option of living celibately (like Paul). This way he could honour his marriage vows and avoid bringing scandal on the Church.

Like I've said continually, he can not be blamed any longer for things he has repented of. Anything he did before he met the Lord should be disregarded completely.
Also, I never denied that he was wrong in what he did. He had an emotional attachment with a woman other than his wife, and his wife divorced him. He then remarried. He repented of anything he might have done during the process.

His wife DID NOT divorce him--he divorced her. She wanted to work things out, but Todd, being BOUND BY LUST, and being an utterly dishonest individual, filed divorce papers as fast as possible so he could get it over with.
He has not repented because he refuses to name his sins and stop lying. He refuses to step down and aside, but instead is prancing around with his new wife continuing in the same foolishness as before. Google Finney's sermon TRUE AND FALSE REPENTANCE.

Not defended himself? He has been lying the whole time AND his latest lie he told during this time was that his wife Shonnah gave him an ultimatum--the ministry or her and the family. So he had to "choose" God by falling into sin with a 26-year old intern. Shonnah gave him no such ultimatum. Todd is lying AGAIN.

The only problem I have with this is the sort of self righteousness that was displayed. For example at 3:20. The Lord has sent true leaders and men of character? But you're still sinners, too. Your character and leadership don't come from yourself. They come from Christ. Gotta be careful with the way we word things. But I'm totally for public rebuking.

I really believe these men are very sincere and have great concern for the Body of Christ when these type of sins are pretty much winked at and the gifts are valued more than character of a ministry with worldwide influence. It is still very grievous to me. I don't know how either Todd or Jessa can get up on the stage and just carry one with ministry. The Body of Christ is obligated to forgive, but Todd and Jessa have no business ministering on any platform for a very long time...if ever.

You're coming against a man who has already repented (and after repentance we have freedom). Todd is living out the consequences of his actions, and he knows it was wrong. Todd Bentley is not a liar. I know him, and I know his heart. Manifestations are not fake - they're from Holy Spirit. Also, God has forgiven Todd Bentley. He's not pretending like it never happened, but he is walking in freedom now because he's been restored. You do not know his whole story. Perhaps you should have gone to him privately.

Many have tried, even that night. But the Bible says nothing about confronting a false prophet and deceiver in private. Read your Bible and you will see that Matthew 18 refers to going to a brother who sins AGAINST YOU privately to try and resolve things. Paul rebuked Peter openly when he was in error. Todd is far worse that Peter. Todd is a liar, not repentant, and he has been "restored" to nothing. Its a sham. He and Joyner are deceivers.
