  • What is the instrument Jimmy Page use before the solo? The radio magnetic thing..? Enyone knows, please reply!

  • @22item

    It's a Thermin

  • Comment removed

  • @22item It's called a Theramin

  • who the fuck dislikes this...idiots

  • Not only does Jimmy Page have his own style of playing with his own awesome and "quirky" guitar tone, but the man has a brilliant and creative musical imagination. He makes music fun.

  • 7:11 drum beat sounds like Halo back grounding music

  • how do they make it sound like that I'm shaking, or is it cold

  • Yes it may be only half of Led Zeppelin but half of led Zeppelin still kicks more ass than any other complete band. I'll take half the mighty Zep any day o the week!

  • hit those fucking drummers harder ya pussy

  • They sounded really good here! The only sad thing is that BONZO wasn't with them :-(

  • I was at this show. My buddy and i watched O.J. get acquitted that morning and decided to have a positive memory of the day. Drove 3 hours and had a blast.. Zep can turn a bad day around!

  • @radioguy1450 I remember that day. I was 16 and home from school because I overslept. I didn't have a Page and Plant concert to go to that night... I was pretty pissed! But knowing me, missing a day of school back then, I probably smoked a joint and ended up playing Led Zeppelin on the stereo.

  • what les paul is jimmy page using

  • @TheJamison76 Gibson.

  • A FUCKING SHAOLIN MONK PLAYINNG A STRAT WITH LZ.... O___O... Too much red bull for today

  • what amp does page use? (a marshall of some kind?)

  • @jimamundo He usually uses a 1959 SLP head

  • Dead or stoned? I think Plant said they were in Orange County. Need I say more?

  • @athpics50 ..yea please explain

  • at 4:38 i was like WTF IS JIMMY PAGE BALD?? hahaaaah

  • @golluba

Jimmy NEVER plays a strat... LP all the way :D

  • @MrDaChampR He plays "In The Evening" On a Strat ;)

  • @MrDaChampR LZ's first records had tele. I was more of a fan of that sound the his LP.

  • i would rock harder on this song than this whole crouwd...xd

  • Man that's jammin!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahhhhh!!!!!!

  • fuck you both for fucking JPJ over

  • @Eldererr If JPJ had been with them they would have had to call it Zeppelin and Plant has tried to avoid any type of Zeppelin reunion since 1980. JPJ did get in a good quip at the RNR HOF induction. He looked at Page and Plant while he was at the mike and said "I'd like to thank my friends for finally remembering my phone number."

  • I still remember Plant's intro for this song on the Milwaukee stop of the tour: "Here's a country western song for you." :p

  • this crowd sucks

  • what happend to the rehearsal of whole lotta love it was on the same night they played this to i cant find it no more

  • heey what happend to the video when they did the rehearsal before this of whole lotta love it sounded amazing now i cant find it

  • stop the video at 1:59 and you will see the most epic face ever!

  • what the hell is wrong with the crowd thay are just seting and not jumping it may not be a acdc concert but stell

  • That's what I call a 90's crowd

  • @djwarn lol, Why do you say it's a "90's crowd?"

  • @LedWilde It's all about haircuts and shirt !

  • @djwarn Oh, yes, definitely. I agree. I didn't know what you meant by it but did guess you meant the fashions of that era.

  • THE KING Loves this guys.

  • pORL tHOMPSON HIS SOUND IS POWERFUL

  • he sang better here than live aid in '85. and i was actually alive here!! the ripe age of 1 :)

  • OMG first time I have seen this version and all I can say they are GODS !!!! of ROCK and ROLL !!!

  • OMG first time I have seen this version and all I can say they are GODS !!!! of ROCK and ROCK !!!!!!

  • Thats such a sweet kick ass beat at 7:06

  • is that a very different guitar or is pagey just playing differently?.

is sound's grit'r than other 's he's used. in any case,he's doing well here. he sure got back on it. not sick again(pardon me) at all.

  • @JohnAllanification Both actually...

  • whos the baldy

  • @sprayboy666 Pretty sure he was the guitarist from The Cure.

  • @sprayboy666 Porl Thompson. He was in The Cure. He's talented in his own right. Of course, we know people didn't come to see him at Page & Plant concerts. Which is why he was eventually let go. But he was good for the songs that had more than one guitar part on the studio albums. Like The Song Remains The Same for instance. But he still wasn't necessary because Jimmy played those songs with one guitar live for many years. Although Porl still did a good job with Page & Plant I thought.

  • nice plagio

  • Yeah, I love Porl and Jimmy...Great, man!

  • Way Cool

  • Impeccable !

  • 3:00 ff best thereminist in rock . .

  • Which song its played at 1:21?

  • awesome! ... on to part two :_)

  • whats up with the bald headed obi wan kenobi

  • what guitar is that ive never seen him play it

  • is the riff with the B bender a song?

  • @TheFuzzlesBand No not a Zep song anyway. Are u sure that a B bender.....I think the only B bender guitar Page has ever used is one of his old tele's, that sound more like he's put a synth pickup on his red les paul. That les paul is the same one he used for whole lotta love in the song remains the same!

  • @1THETRUTH10 i'm not sure. but look at when he is puling his guitar up and down. and u see a string strapped behind his bridge. The discription also mentioned jimmy's candy-apple red B-Bender Les Paul.

  • @TheFuzzlesBand Yea sorry ur dead right, after watching it again it does seem like a B bender! Do u know if he had a B bender on it when they did the song remains the same? Im gonna send u a freind invite , U know ur ZEP :D

  • @1THETRUTH10 i'm not sure sorry. I have the DVD here so i can watch it again :).

  • fucking and great Page.........

  • Jimmy fuckin Page rules man!!!!

  • i have some question, he's playing theremin using one hand? What cind of theremin is that one? Where i can get it?

  • i always wanted a floyd rose on my les paul

  • That is the pissiest sounding bass I have ever heard. Nobody can touch JPJ but to come up with that kiddie twang on the bass is unforgivable.

  • This is the sense of rock. Sacred monsters, they are. These guys make me shiver.

  • I was there, fucked up on Hienys. It was awesome

  • This version sucks ass . . . why did he have a guy come in on a strat and do what sounds like a comp. different song, then goes back to Whole Lotta Love. . this is crap, i love Page and Plant . . but this sucks

  • I sure wish they had invited jonesy

  • Comment removed

  • YEA THERIMIN ECHOPLEX AND AUTOTUNING GUITAR

  • at 4:28 the video is cut (watch the drummer)

  • Who the fuck is that with the sperm outfit?!?! GET OFF THE STAGE!!!

  • @coal1987 Hey, thats Porl Thompson, and he did a pretty good job. So STFU.

  • wow, page with what looks to be a floyd rose.

  • The "Love Removal Machine" " The CURE'S PORL THOMPSON, in this 1995 Led Zep!!

  • Awesome job singing the notes plant!

  • LZ ? NO THANKS!

  • gotta fuckin love the theremin.

  • You guys that were at this concert were so lucky. I wish I could have been there too. Wow...This is so great!

  • After all these years if they can still play this song like THAT, it shows that it's not just luck that got them as far as they went. That's pure raw natural talent right there. Jimmy Page is god.

  • i totally agree!!! this is HEAVEN. i cant sotp listening to the part after 4:33

  • @trailblazer225:

I remember a lot of awful Lep Zep "efforts" from the 70s.

But this - in 1995 - is almost impeccable.

The whole " Four Quarters" DVD as well, of course. I was amazed how ripe Jimmy and Robert were with about 50.

Blessed you are when being with such givings at that age (in music or spirit) - believe me !

  • Very very special my friends, and i love almost ALL kind of music !

  • 6:55 and now we know from who Jack White taking inspiration.

  • He got kicked, people, because he was not needed. Obviously his services are not needed ;)

  • I was there, It was jamming. but had to get use to the orchestra. so use to Zepp hard rocking, but it was still awesome

  • is it me or is the crowd dead?

  • @andr3wbr1an Well the crowd is a little order, cant jump around like they did in the 70s ;D

  • @andr3wbr1an

well they werent as good as before, and im pretty sure they were all high contemplating them, because that performance wasnt bad at all.(at least in my opinion).

  • @andr3wbr1an i think they just recorded the band and not the crowd...

  • @andr3wbr1an they probably recorded it from the board, you can rarely hear the crowd when they do that

  • @andr3wbr1an The crowd is not dead. It's what we used to call Stoned!

  • @NattyFoxBand That's what we used to call soundboard recording.

  • well, where are they?

  • What does that mean? I know what Porl Thompson is doing, what are they doing?

  • What sort of guitar modification does Jimmy have here? its awesome!

  • Led Zep for ever the best band. thank you JP,RP,JPJ,JB. Thank you to God that mada them!

    I LOVE YOU.

    Ciao

    Italia.

  • The gold Les Paul is the transperformance guitar. The red Les Paul is a tonebender guitar or 'B' bender, which the b string bendswhen you move the guitar up towards you. or some will use the 'g' string. thats how you get that sound.

  • I can't see Robert Plant's belly button... something's not right

  • was that a harry krishna or a terminally ill child whose last wish was to play on the same stage as page and plant idk lol

  • so funny, how old are you, 14?

  • @despayre yes.......yes i am

  • no wonder!

  • @despayre im sorry .....it just seems out of place for a plant and page concert

  • then why did page pick him?

  • @samkev84 Porl Thompson from the Cure.

  • what is this? this is too rare

  • the strat playing monk is even weirder than the theremin, but Page remains a God

  • If it wasn't for Porl Thompson... by the way, where are they whithout him?

  • you don't know much, do you.

  • ummm may i just say EPIC WIN!

  • i can't seem to notice when he uses a b bender : / , I do know it's on the red LP but i dont see him pulling the neck down haha

  • Comment removed

  • Tired compared the Zeppelin days - And the drummer STINKS

  • what is this antenna device jimmy uses?

is it like a custom invention he probably asked from some guy to make or can anyone find it in the market?

anyway...i think WLL belongs to the greatest 10 hits of all time!

  • It's a Theremin

  • I remember that Robert wanted Micheal lee(RiP) and Jimmy wanted Jason when touring back in the 90's

  • the second guitar

  • the guitar is a B bender thats how he gets that sound

  • This reminds me of when Nigel quit Spinal Tapp and they tried "Jazz odyssey" pure rubbish.

  • I LOVE THE THEREMIN SOLO! SO COOL!!! I love the faces he makes XD

  • :00000 AWESOME

  • Jimmy you kill me little by little each time i listen to your magical guitar

kill me ,kill me,kill me ...............

  • thanks this is great

  • is that gandhi on the strat?

  • jimmy page use black magic at 3:04.. lol joke

  • What kind is the special effect used about 7 -8 minute?

  • I think it has something to do with his whammy pedal, but I'm not sure 'bout that

  • Comment removed

  • its a b-bender

  • what's a b-bender?

  • its a modification to a guitar. they put a lever through the body so that when the strap holder is pulled on it bends the b string. this is mostly used in country music to get a twangy sound.

  • its called a theramin...

  • Sounds like a harmonizer of some sort.

  • Porl Thompson can fucking solo, i really like his guitar playing

  • well if that ain't old porl of the cure bald as hell!!! nice

  • better than the original of Willie Dixon !!

  • The guy in white is "Porl Thompson" . former member of "The Cure"

  • nvm the vid cut out when the guy in the white came on sorry about that

  • why doesnt he play the solo

  • look at him, hes playing the song very slow, not like he use to, thats probably why. His fingers/wrist are probably tired from all those years haha

  • rally good !!

  • Whats Pagey using around 6:45?

  • Not sure - maybe he's tugging on the B-Bender? (the mechanism is attached to the front strap button)

  • whats he start playing around there? Is it part ofa song or just some random jam... Sorry i just started really listening to Zep

  • @julienk2021 cool how he used the tunings to splash those colors during the beginning, those robot-guitars are expensive.I gotta Lespaul Gibson 2010, 60`s Classic

  • thats a b-bender. he fitted them on his #3 les paul. which is this red one. and a few of his telecasters.

  • He's using a Digitech Whammy which can do that divebomb effect by dropping an octave. It can also do all sorts of weird harmonizing effects.

Notice where Page is seemingly doing nothing but pointing to the crowd and it creates that deep, odd tone. He's actually tapping the low E with his thumb

Jimmy Page was using slight of hand to do that effect much like a magician would. Pretty cool.

  • and hes using a self tuning guitar.

  • Actually, I think you're right. It's the self tuning guitar that's being used to create the divebomb in this instance. I know he also used a Digitech Whammy, but I don't see his feet moving a pedal, so it has to be the Transperformance creating it. At 6:54 you can hear the weird octave effect as well.

  • OR he's a wizard

    ima go with that..

  • @scarfacedan09 it's called a therimine and it's one cool instrument

  • @gurumaster89 Naa i knew about the theremin i meant wen he plays that big open E string without picking it, I thought it was a device of some sort but it was just his finger lol

  • @scarfacedan09 it is a b bender

  • @juggHERnutt B-benders only bend the b string and that notes too low to be a b-bender. I figured it out. hes using his thumb to pull the low E string

  • @scarfacedan09 I think they're not talking about that part, but at the part after that. That bendy riff page does. I think it could be a b bender, or he developed a G bender or something. Anyway, the guitar is in another tuning, so i think the B/G bender is possible

  • @scarfacedan09

nah, you're both wrong. Page's guitar here is a very early version of Gibson's Robot guitar, the one that tunes itself. The guitar has a switch that selects tunings, and when page strums the guitar it tunes its to that tuning.

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS Nope your wrong its a simple Gibson guitar fitted with "transperformer" which tuned it, it wasnt built with the guitar jimmy and his big money made it happen lol

  • @scarfacedan09 He is tapping the cords on the guitar fret. Jimmy Hendrix used to do that a lot. Easy to do if you got the guitar distorted and turned up high enough in gain.

  • @MicrosoftsourceCode

oh wait, nevermind, I thought you guys were talking about a different part of the song.

  • @JIMMYJIBLETS Well I was not aware his guitar could tune it's self. when I was 20 and learning electronics I remember talking about it to a guy I was in a band with in collage. He was a brilliant copy cat of page and we both used to make our own special effects. I had no idea at the time such a thing existed
