Not only does Jimmy Page have his own style of playing with his own awesome and "quirky" guitar tone, but the man has a brilliant and creative musical imagination. He makes music fun.
Yes it may be only half of Led Zeppelin but half of led Zeppelin still kicks more ass than any other complete band. I'll take half the mighty Zep any day o the week!
I was at this show. My buddy and i watched O.J. get acquitted that morning and decided to have a positive memory of the day. Drove 3 hours and had a blast.. Zep can turn a bad day around!
@radioguy1450 I remember that day. I was 16 and home from school because I overslept. I didn't have a Page and Plant concert to go to that night... I was pretty pissed! But knowing me, missing a day of school back then, I probably smoked a joint and ended up playing Led Zeppelin on the stereo.
@Eldererr If JPJ had been with them they would have had to call it Zeppelin and Plant has tried to avoid any type of Zeppelin reunion since 1980. JPJ did get in a good quip at the RNR HOF induction. He looked at Page and Plant while he was at the mike and said "I'd like to thank my friends for finally remembering my phone number."
@sprayboy666 Porl Thompson. He was in The Cure. He's talented in his own right. Of course, we know people didn't come to see him at Page & Plant concerts. Which is why he was eventually let go. But he was good for the songs that had more than one guitar part on the studio albums. Like The Song Remains The Same for instance. But he still wasn't necessary because Jimmy played those songs with one guitar live for many years. Although Porl still did a good job with Page & Plant I thought.
@TheFuzzlesBand No not a Zep song anyway. Are u sure that a B bender.....I think the only B bender guitar Page has ever used is one of his old tele's, that sound more like he's put a synth pickup on his red les paul. That les paul is the same one he used for whole lotta love in the song remains the same!
@1THETRUTH10 i'm not sure. but look at when he is puling his guitar up and down. and u see a string strapped behind his bridge. The discription also mentioned jimmy's candy-apple red B-Bender Les Paul.
@TheFuzzlesBand Yea sorry ur dead right, after watching it again it does seem like a B bender! Do u know if he had a B bender on it when they did the song remains the same? Im gonna send u a freind invite , U know ur ZEP :D
This version sucks ass . . . why did he have a guy come in on a strat and do what sounds like a comp. different song, then goes back to Whole Lotta Love. . this is crap, i love Page and Plant . . but this sucks
After all these years if they can still play this song like THAT, it shows that it's not just luck that got them as far as they went. That's pure raw natural talent right there. Jimmy Page is god.
