Thanks a lot for this. The song came up on my Recommended Videos and I liked it immediately. There is a genius simplicity about his song writing. Even the little hammer on on the second fret of the third string is a great little motif that is then echoed in the C chord. I really like his songs and his singing voice. With his voice he makes a virtue out of his limitations. Genius!

I have thought about how I'd show the right hand, but I'd have to tape both hands playing at the same time since I never play anything exactly the same twice in a row. I'll keep pondering on how to do that. . .

@jpmist If you use just a webcam to tape your other hand, thatl probably be high enough quality. Then use a cheap video editing software such as vegas movie studio platinum 9.0 that lets you trim everything, edit the sound and video seperatley and put two videos on one screen it would probably work. Im new to guitar and video editing so Im no expert lol but I have started using that vegas, I have a vid where I have put 2 videos on one screen and one of them is filmed using a webcam.

i know this is not the most tecnically difficult song, but i'm amazed at how effortlessly you play....im a stumbling three chorder.....thank you for this vid...this is really a sad and special song..and i'm trying to work it out..thank you again--i know you're not doing this to get rich, but to spread art while so many are selling guitar hero to kids.

Thanks for the comment. Sorry, dude, one of my least favorite Knopfler songs. I took a quick listen anyway and the capo is on the forth fret. The whole song is basically one chord, Am, with a quick Dm in there somewhere. I don't write tab, sorry, so you'll have to work out the fingerpicking.
